Motel 6 Bishop, CA

Bishop|1.16km from downtown
I have never written a review even for places that seriously disappointed. I'm making an exception for this place. To make a long story short, the manager and a buddy of his were violently aggressive when I arrived at midnight and tried to check in after the reservationist promised a late check in would be no problem. When I arrived, there was an open window with a buzzer, I pushed it and heard it ring. No one answered. I then called the reservation number and told them of the situation. They escalated the call to a supervisor who then put me on hold to contact the motel manager. While on hold, I noticed the room next to the office, which I presumed was the manager's quarters had lights on and I could see through the blinds that there were a couple of people inside. I could hear them speaking loudly. While on hold for over 20 minutes, I then knocked on the manager's door in hopes they could speak with him to check me in. When the manager opened the door, he immediately begain yelling ”why are you here? why are you here?” and then pointing to a sign (I did not see) that said the office closed at 10:00. Both the manager and his friend were clearly intoxicated as, I saw a numerous Corona beer bottles on the table inside the manager's quarters when he opened the door. He immediately became angry and ordered me off the property despite having a reservation. I immediately got into my vehicle when he slammed his fist into my window and then on my side mirror still screaming at me to leave, which I did immediately. Even after crossing the 4 lane highway and parking so I could see if there was another motel open, he and his friend crossed over to the other side and starting coming towards me. I immediately left. Several days later, after returning home, I get a call from a Bishop police officer investigating the manager's claim that I tried to run over him when trying to back off the motel's property. The officer had video from the motel of the incident and, I was told after answering his questions, that my version of what happened matched what he saw in the video. Additionally, the Motel 6 manager neglected to tell the officer that he and his friend left the property, crossed the highway, and tried to engage with me again. The conclusion being that the officer later called me back and he said that after looking at the video again and hearing my version, he would not be forwarding the investigation to the DA. To think that this motel is run by two, presumably drunk and violent people is unimaginable. I am 66yo and 5'6”, 150lbs. The manager was at least 6'2”, 250lbs and no more than 45yo and his friend was similar sized, except skinnier. To say the least, I felt that my safety was in extreme danger. These two violent, presumably intoxicated individuals threatened me (their own video documented the entire situation) and there's nothing I can do about it except tell you of my experience. I have been a loyal Motel 6 cus

Must be fully praised, the location is on the 395 highway, very easy to find, there is a great Chinese restaurant next door to stop the car, 18 pieces of the package to eat the 俺娘 tears, I eat next to the Texas flavor, bricket beef Special stick. The hotel staff is very warm and friendly, the breakfast is also very rich, the price is very reasonable, highly recommended. In the morning, when I pushed the door, I saw the golden snow-capped mountains in the morning sun. It was still very shocking.

Days Inn by Wyndham Bishop

Sandra, the team member covering the front desk assisted us with check in. She was excellent and a five star employee. We came in from a few days backpacking and the outside temperature was over 100 degrees. We came into the lobby with the hope of being able to have a room available as soon as we could check in, being a Wyndham Diamond member we were also hopeful to secure an early check in. Sandra went above and beyond to find two clean rooms ready for check in. She really looked out for us and we could not have been more appreciative of her efforts! I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 because one feature that drew us was the promise of a pool and the pool was closed, I only wish it would have been noted at time of booking since it seems to have been closed for some time. Additionally, parking is a bit of a challenge since the parking lot seems to fill quickly. I will note this is a budget hotel and the amenities are consistent with that. It’s clean and simple but don’t expect anything better. All in all though, exactly what one would expect from a budget hotel but with the added bonus of excellent customer service.
