The hotel owner is an extremely responsive and friendly woman, always ready to start a conversation, and is always willing to help with any questions or offer local sightseeing directions. The hotel itself is new and is still in the process of adding new rooms, but the workers weren't there during the New Year's holidays when I stayed, so I can't assess the extent of the construction noise or whether it interferes with my stay. The hotel is located in a quiet area away from the bustle of traffic, which is a plus, and it offers beautiful mountain views. They also have their own restaurant where you can grab a bite to eat, which is convenient if you're too lazy to trudge anywhere. Bikes are only available for rent to those with a valid license and bikes. The rooms are quite spacious.

Stayed for 4 nights, run by a very kind and caring family. You will get a glimpse into their lives as they live across the road. Every morning we were served with breakfast and coffee. The room was clean and new, washroom was spacious, and we were given new towels and 2 bottles of water daily (No room service). Hot water was HOT and air conditioning worked Great. Location wise it’s right next to Mua cave, the Coop restaurant. Trang Anh boat tour and Ancient capital was a 10 min Grab away too. A short drive or bike ride to Chookie’s, banh mi Hanoi, buffalo hostel and that side of town. We found limited local food restaurants in our area so would have to venture out into main town for more variety. Great and safe stay overall.

A very pleasant place to stay in Ninh Binh. What stood out most was the owner's attitude—right after checking in, he gave a detailed rundown of the most interesting spots in the area, explained where to go first, and offered several useful tips for our trip. This made it much easier to plan our time and see all the highlights. The hotel itself is cozy, clean, and beautifully located. It’s a great place to relax after a busy day exploring Ninh Binh's viewpoints and boat tours. I also want to highlight the atmosphere—you can genuinely feel that guests are warmly welcomed here, not just treated as another transaction. It's these small, family-run hotels that often leave the warmest travel memories. If you're looking for a comfortable and heartfelt place to experience Ninh Binh, The View Point Home & Spa is definitely worth considering.

Hotel Location: 👍On the roadside, not far from nearby attractions. Free bicycles are available for rental. Room: Comfortable and clean. Bathroom: Plenty of hot water 👍. There's a small swimming pool in front of the room. The hotel's restaurant is located by the river, with a small bridge connecting to the water. Across the river, there's a small, lush hill with beautiful scenery. Breakfast: Traditional Vietnamese drip coffee, sandwich bread, and Vietnamese pho 👍 Service was excellent 👍. The owner happily cooked two delicious dishes for dinner using the fish head we bought (for an additional fee). Their small pot rice was crispy and delicious. The Hanoi beer was excellent; we drank six bottles. Overall, a 2-day stay: 10 points of satisfaction.

We had a wonderful stay at The Wooden Gate! The property is absolutely beautiful, with a lovely pool and a very peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent, with a great selection and everything freshly prepared. The location is also perfect for exploring the area. With the bicycles provided, we could easily and quickly reach Mua Cave and the Trang An boat tours. What impressed us most was the kindness and hospitality of the staff. Our children are very picky eaters, and the team even prepared special meals just for them, which we really appreciated. We felt very welcome and well taken care of throughout our stay. A beautiful place with wonderful service – we would definitely recommend The Wooden Gate!

This is a heartwarming story of a lost and found. This trip itinerary covered three places: Hanoi --＞ Ninh Binh (2.5-hour drive) Ninh Binh --＞ Ha Long (3-hour drive) Ha Long --＞ Hanoi Airport (2-hour drive) For two nights in Ninh Binh, I stayed at a place called ”Mai Luxury Hotel.” Judging by the name, it sounds grand, but in reality, it was more like a family-run, small-scale single-building guesthouse. However, the room was of 4-star hotel quality, so it was acceptable. After checking out, I had been on the way to Ha Long for about two hours when I realized I had left my Insta 360 camera in the hotel lobby. Knowing there was no way to go back and get it, I had to wait until I arrived in Ha Long before calling Mai Luxury Hotel. After confirming with them that I had indeed left it at the hotel, we started looking for a solution. Initially, they followed me on IG (their hotel IG only had 4 followers). We chatted via DM, and then they added me on WhatsApp to discuss. Originally, they wanted to find a driver that very evening to bring it to my hotel in Ha Long Bay. But because it was a holiday, they couldn't find a driver. Later, they found out I would be leaving Vietnam the next day, so they started looking for any drivers heading to the airport the following day. Not long after, they actually found a driver. They even sent me the driver's and vehicle's details. They also said they had already wrapped it up securely. At this point, I was inclined to believe they genuinely intended to return it. However, if the driver turned out to be dishonest, it could still go missing. On the final day, I arrived at the airport around 1 PM and received a message from the driver. After that, I didn't hear from him again. I grew increasingly anxious inside, thinking maybe he was still driving? Or perhaps he had already kept the camera for himself. Around 4 PM, I finally received a call from the driver. He even captured a photo of my anxious expression while waiting for him. As previously arranged with the hotel, I was to pay him 500,000 VND (about 150 HKD). At that moment, the driver actually handed me back 200,000 VND. Before I could react, he had already gotten back in his car and left. When I looked at the returned item, I could hardly believe it! The hotel had used a ”Happy New Year” bag to hold a ”Happy New Year” box. Upon opening the box, the camera was wrapped in cloth. The level of care and thoughtfulness was truly perfect. The feeling of joy from recovering something lost is truly indescribable. Of course, I wouldn't dare say that everyone in Vietnam is good, but at least on this trip, whether it was the hotpot restaurant owner, the tour guide on the boat, or the hotel staff, they all made me feel the warmth and kindness of the local people.

The family that runs this gorgeous little homestay is really wonderful and kind and always helpful and friendly. They provided us with a map for the area with tips and recommendations and also rented us a motorbike. The room was comfortable, clean and the included breakfast was absolutely perfect (I always ordered the banana pancake). The pool area is also really pretty probably the prettiest in the area. From the roof of the building you can see a lot of the surrounding landscape and the kids who go to the local school are all fun and friendly.

New homestay that opened in early 2025. Father and son and his family run and maintained this cute little homestay. They're so nice and hospitable and will provide help and service at all times of the day. They provide meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, pedal bike and motorbike rentals and laundry service by the kilo. It has an amazing backdrop scenery of Trang An behind the homestay, you wouldn't want to wish for more whenever you wake up every morning here. 😀

I had a great stay here. Bed was okay. You just gotta find the comfortable spots. Some spots are slightly uncomfortable. Its very clean all around. The food is good, but slightly limited. They provide free bikes, but 80% of the them are dangerous and fall apart midway your trip. This has caused me multiple inconveniences. Upon such situation they apologized sincerely and requested to come pick me up. They should replace the bikes for a better and safer experiences. The bathroom has an interesting mountain view from it’s back. The area is beautiful. The weekdays are great value. On weekends their prices almost double and for that price I would recommend anyone to stay somewhere else to save up to 50% of your money

The rooms are very nice and clean, had no problem whatsoever. The staff are very nice and helpful, they really want to help you throughout your stay. The breakfast are delicious and plentiful, we even had the chance to try their diner service and it was great ^^ a lot of variety in the menu and the service was fast and amazing. Only thing I have to say is that it’s a bit far from any restaurants, I personally didn’t mind walking around to look for options but it’s a a bit of walk. Nothing too scary, the area is very friendly and smiling 😅
