Lovely hotel the staff where welcoming we even checked in early with no issues. Free tea, coffee, water in reception. It’s an easy 10 minute walk into the centre. Rooms are very clean and even have a kitchen. will book again.

I think this could be a really nice hotel with a few tweaks. The location is great, down a quiet side street away from traffic and noisy bars/clubs. Our room was a good size and felt comfortable. The front desk staff were very friendly and check in/out was fast and easy.
The main let-down was cleanliness. I felt the cleaning could be more thorough, especially in the bathroom, as the grout was visibly pink. There was also dust under the desk and behind the chair.
Noise was also a problem for us. I understand that this is not the fault of the hotel but the guests, but the noise does travel quite easily so I was woken up late night and early morning. Doors could be adjusted so they don't slam and the rooms could be better soundproofed.

Guest UserNice hotel great location if you have an early flight the next morning. Biggest issue for me is the ridiculous price of drinks it’s obscene. Food prices are almost as bad, I got round the food issue by having an Indian takeaway delivered to the hotel .

Guest UserThey have a coffee/tea/ hot chocolate corner with a microwave. Next to it a chill out space with tables and TV.
Nice clean showers and toilet in the room.
One shower was missing shampoo and soap and only had conditioner.

The cosy room would definitely not be my choice again. Ok if travelling on your own, but as a couple not ideal.
Breakfast was the best I have ever experienced.
Staff all friendly.
Will definitely want to stay in this hotel if I ever went to Newcastle again.

Went down to see ifcwe could get it changed as we wanted a quiet room On check in we requested this so obviously next to the lift facing the stack is not a quiet room. Next room was directly above the hotels air conditioning unit gave up as obviously the receptionist was having a serious customer service melt down especially when we went out 10 minutes later and she called over ..is that room OK for you? Obviously not as the air conditioning unit screamed all night long we just said yes as what was the best room going to be ?? Certainly will not be back thanks to the totally piss taking receptionist

The room wasn't clean. I checked in early as an IHG member benefit at noon, but there was dust on the counter, hair on the bed, and even someone else's underwear behind the curtains!?! I had to inspect and clean it myself. The bed and pillows are very soft, which might depend on personal preference. The breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of continental options. The location is superb, only about a five to six-minute walk from the train station.

Value for money: The hotel offers a good stay at a reasonable price. While the facilities are a bit dated, the rooms are comfortable and meet basic needs.

Lovely hotel in excellent location. However, when got back to our room in the evening, there was a loud disco going on above us, from the brochure of the hotel it was indicated this would end at midnight. We still heard it at 2am . We also tried to order room service and got no answer on phone.
Finally, we were woken at 8am Sunday morning by what sounded like cleaners moving all the furniture and scrapping the floor.
We mentioned it on checking out, and although the staff apologised, it did not sound very sincere. Would be reluctant to return .

H the explorerIdeal location right by the train station. Hotel room was lovely, beds comfortable, shower warm - large spacious room. Mini bar also. Hotel staff friendly breakfast was available at extra charge but did not have it. Would stay here again.
