Hotel is in a fab location and very clean .The staff were very helpful and courteous. The only problem we had was the bed was very uncomfortable with dreadfull uncomfortable pillow each .The hotel was noisy about 5.30 doors slamming so didn't get a lot of sleep .Breakfast was good fresh and tasty and hot .
Good experience at Sandman Newcastle, location is perfect which is just above the Metro station St James, easy to go around the city, also in a walking distance to the monument easy access to shopping area and many restaurants, staff members are friendly and helpful. Nice restaurant and supermarket in the neighbourhood. The room even equipped with oven and fridge . Recommended strongly
Grainger Hotel is a nice hotel at all. The room is neat and the counter is very helpful. There is a supermarket nearby so that you can get everything you need. It would be a 30-minute walk from station to hotel and you need to walk up some gradient. The streets may be dirty so don't put bags on the ground.

Overall is good, there is parking, extra beds available, the location of the hotel is a little bit biased, but the environment is very good, the decoration is also good ...........
Very good Hotel, cannot fault it except, the restaurant food is overpriced for.the quality and portion sizes hardly any choice limited menu.
Menu needs updating and not so greedy.on.prices.

If it is on the front, the scenery outside the window is very good. You can see the park hill designed by famous architects. The location is very convenient. Tram bus is very convenient for walking. Choosing here is also just one stop from the train station tram. I used to stay at this hotel for one night and I feel that I can book it here, but this time I feel very average. But there are very few options in Sheffield city centre. The waiters at the front desk of the hotel are very enthusiastic and some have a cold attitude. The most unhappy thing about this trip was housekeeping. The first day was not cleaned. I didn't clean it the next day. I saw that she was very polite and she helped clean it. The woman said that she went home after more than the time, she only worked for a while. When I checked out, my diarrhea was ten minutes late, and the cleaner directly made a dissatisfied voice to me. I was really angry. I didn't complain if I didn't clean my room. The front desk said she would tell her to clean but she did not. As for seeing that ibis will compensate for the breakfast offer, this is not at all. Really the first to see such a housekeeping. Ibis is also a well-known brand. Although the overall situation did not feel very bad, but 4.6 is a bit high.

GGuest UserOne of our favourite hotels. Rooms are looking a little tired now however the service, breakfast and quality of the rooms are excellent. Always have a good night's sleep here!! Looking forward to our next stay
FFranfromivegillCannot best the location!!!! Trolley push out of the doors and into the hotel ( or vice versa). No worry about taxi or transfer. Restaurant OK but suffers from the same ailment of so many…. Blinking awful coffee!!!! Also those awful mugs …. I have said before….. I have taken to bringing my own decent mug to drink out of.
I ate in the bar last time - similar menu ( same prices) but no booking of a table required. Just got to put up with TV with constant noise or sport……
They let me leave my luggage while I drop off or pick up a hire car…. About 10 minutes walk away.
Always my first choice.
MMichelle ElliottStayed one night - bank holiday Sunday in a Club double room with full English buffet breakfast and a drinks voucher each included. We stayed in room 511 which seemed slightly more spacious than other rooms of this type however only had a partial river view due to being at the end of the corridor. On booking we had requested to have additional pillows for the bed and this was done for our arrival. A very good overnight stay in a hotel located within easy walking distance of bars and restaurants on the quayside. Will be a returning guest .
CChanThis hotel is very close to the train station so the guests can just walk across the street to take the train. The hotel room is nice and big and clean. So, it’s very good for the guest who need to take the train in the early morning or late evening. There’re also many restaurants near the hotel. Also the metro station is just a few steps from the hotel. So the guest can get around the city using the underground metro conveniently.
AAnonymous UserLovely stay at this hotel. Friendly staff and very helpful. Room was very comfortable, nice shower/bathroom and we enjoyed the street view of the town. Super location especially for the train station and town centre. My sons enjoyed the gym and their breakfast!
GGuest UserThe hotel’s location is great, which only minute’s walk from central station. The service is fine and the room is big. However, the wall of the room is just like a ‘paper’, we can clearly hear the outside noise. It’s really noisy and the cleaning staff even works from early morning and really disturb us to sleep. Also, they just use the key to open our door without asking or checking if we are still in the room and sleep, which is only 9am. Besides, the bathroom’s water sound is so loud and almost influenced us for a whole night. Overall, it is a not recommended place to live if you want to have a quiet and safe sleeping environment.
GGuest UserGreat central hotel, easy access and very clean. Great price and in a very good location to the town centre and transport links. Having stayed in other easy hotels, this was by far the nicest one.
GGuest UserWell what a little gem of a Hotel. Beautiful location right next to the Castle and near the Quayside. We had a lovely stay, the Staff were fantastic! So helpful and polite and friendly and very very professional. We felt very special and looked after. The hotel is spotlessly clean and our room was lovely. We didn't have any meals there except for breakfast which was tasty and there was plenty of options, the Staff in there again were very lovely and attentive. Saying all this a couple of little niggles the Hotel was so hot! To be fair the weather was beautiful when we were there but there is no air conditioning in the building. I do appreciate it is an older building and it's not always possible to install Air Con Units but a few fans scattered around would have made it a bit more bearable in the public areas . There was a fan provided in our bedroom which was very welcome as the sun facing the windows all day ! We also found the bed not very comfortable, the mattress was too hard for our liking but then this may suit other people so it's not a criticism really of the Hotel more our preference to have a softer mattress.
All in all we Would definitely go back to this hotel but I think I would go in the colder months.
