CAMP CAYLA - COASTA

9.5/10

We had an amazing stay! The camp was brand new and very clean. The beach sand was so soft! We want to thank Joey, the wonderful and attentive Camp Cayla staff who made our stay great. As soon as we arrived he arranged everything according to what we liked. He asked us if we wanted to rent a scooter which we choose to do and he organised everything! In the middle of the night we didn’t know how to turn the aircon off (we were holding it too far away) and he was at our door within a few minutes and showed us how to turn it off. He was always on-site and took care of us well! The room was very clean, comfortable and cosy. There were some small ants but that’s expected. We had insect spray so it was fine. Negatives: The property is not fenced so there lots of dogs that come very close, this maybe an issue for people that have a fear of dogs or if there’s small children playing around. The bar/ restaurant/ reception area is not ready yet, there is no where to buy food close by.

Really nice condo/hotel, less than 10 minutes walk to a beautiful and quiet beach. There are many restaurants nearby at the beach, but if staying longer, a bike/car is a must, unless you just want to chill by the pool or beach and not explore. We stayed in the basic queen room, it’s modern, clean and spacious, with a balcony that you can sit with a coffee in the morning or a drink at night. The small kitchen is fully equipped, so you can cook meals. The bedroom has sliding glass doors. There is a sofa with a good tv on the wall and also a table and chairs to eat at. The pool is well Maintained and there is bar/cafe poolside serving hot drinks, alcoholic beverages and Thai/western cuisine. Overall I highly recommend for couples/ families or even solo travellers who want some chill time.

Ideal location overlooking the beautiful beach, and most rooms overlook the Large swimming pool ours included. Rooms are spacious with large balcony. Can’t fault anything really other than the bar staff always seemed a bit miserable and never seem to smile or interact with customers. We didn’t try the breakfast so no idea if any good. It finished at 10am and we don’t like to feel rushed getting up for breakfast, rather have coffee in room then take a leisurely breakfast at one of the local cafes or restaurants close by! It was also nice having a little fridge in the room for milk and cold drinks. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

The staff was wonderful and helpful. They were attentive to our needs especially for the breakfast. The place was clean and peaceful. The rooms were excellent and complete with basic needs as soap and shampoo plus hair dryer. The pool was not used because it was not kept well but it was ok. Wish they had a service transpo to bring us to the beach nearby.

The hotel is tired, but there's plenty of greenery. The pool is nice, cozy, beautiful, and deep. The kids dived in. We stayed in a family room, which is large, with beds separated by a partition. The TV had poor reception, and the WiFi was poor. There's no hairdryer, so you have to ask at reception. There's also no safe in the room. Breakfast is average. The hotel is mostly frequented by older couples, and there are practically no Russians. There's a 7/11 on both sides, a cafe opposite the hotel on the shore, and an Italian restaurant to the right of the hotel. The sea is warm, very clean, and practically deserted! There are sun loungers opposite the 7/11 on the right for 30 baht, and on the other side for 50 baht. Water activities for children and adults include inflatables, banana boats, and water sports. Water activities cost 200 baht per person. Overall, the hotel left a good impression! The nearest currency exchange office is 20 km away.

Nice and spacious apartment with partitioned rooms that had necessities in each section. Also had ample parking which made it ideal as I drove there. Clear and simple communication from the concierge (as pictured) allowed a smooth check-in/check-out process. Will definitely stay again and appreciate the nice view if I visit that part of Rayong!

The hotel is new and clean. I got a room on the second floor, but there was no shower, so I had to carry my luggage up to the room myself as there was no staff to help. The check-in staff were lovely, but I still had to search for my room. The shower faucet needs replacing as it lacks a handle and gets wet with shower gel, making it difficult to turn on.

It takes no more than 15 minutes by speedboat from the mainland to reach this private island. The accommodation is generally better than the average for small island resorts like this. The beds and towels were clean, unlike many places where they're old and yellowed. I stayed one night in a dome house and one night in a bungalow. The dome house was unique and newer, which was nice, but it got incredibly hot and unbearable when there was no electricity. The bungalow, however, had a cool sea breeze blowing through it constantly. The beach on the west side had some trash, so I'd recommend swimming on the east side. The lady who manages the island is super kind and friendly. Overall, I was impressed. It's perfect for a truly relaxing getaway.

Initially, upon arrival, the reception staff assigned me to a room that hadn't been cleaned yet. However, after I informed them, they changed me to a room with a sea view. The view in the sea was nice, but the bathroom had a very musty smell. Also, in the evening, there were no staff members and the kitchen was empty, so I couldn't order food. They didn't inform me of the closing time for ordering food either, which was inconvenient. It would also be quite far to find something to eat elsewhere.
