We had a wonderful stay at Novotel Xian Bell Tower. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Jennifer Guo. She was helpful in all areas, helping us to recommend good places, looking after our needs thru out the stay.. Novotel is centrally located near the Metro (in front) and near the Bell Tower. Opposite the road at night is a food street. In the afternoon, they have some pastries which is free. Breakfast has a fair selection of morning breakfast ideal for fueling up before the days event. In front of the metro, there a bus in the morning to go to terracotta (I think it's 9.9 yuan) however we opted to take the high speed train. We took the digital guide (English) for 30 yuan and it was very informative. Xian is a easy city and very doable on your own. The whole experience was amazing and Jennifer Guo front desk service was great.

Beiguan/Longshou District Xi'an|3.5km from downtown
This hotel is very close to the subway station, which is a lifesaver when it's hard to get a taxi near popular attractions due to crowds, or during area lockdowns. There's also a commercial district nearby, making dining and shopping very convenient. The hotel environment is excellent. Everyone from the doormen and front desk staff to the housekeeping and guest relations teams is warm and welcoming, providing great service. Manager Chloe even sent a welcome fruit platter and arranged for a late check-out. The heating in the room was very strong, so there's no need to worry about the cold in winter. The swimming pool water temperature was also perfect. The only suggestion I have is that while there was a drink menu in the room with very reasonable prices, when I tried to order drinks late at night from room service or the front desk, it seemed the hotel didn't have any in stock.

This is a famous hotel in Xi'an, historically known for catering to international guests. The facilities are excellent, and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The beautiful surroundings, with their lush greenery, made for a pleasant stroll with our child. The service staff are highly attentive and professional. A special shout-out to the duty manager on Friday; she was absolutely amazing. She not only resolved our problem and eased our worries but also upgraded us to a suite. Her patience with guests was remarkable. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next trip.

This is an older 5-star hotel with an excellent location. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helped carry our luggage to the room. It was surprisingly quiet at night; among all the hotels I've stayed in, this is one of the few where I wasn't bothered by noise. Perhaps it's because it was built a long time ago, so the walls are thick. The breakfast was also very substantial, offering most of Xi'an's local delicacies. Very satisfied.

This hotel's location is perfect to walk around the city wall area. The friendly staff are always ready to help. Especially Cici who was really helpful when I needed things to be delivered out. Drum and Bell towers are all walking distance away. Good selection from breakfast and overall really clean. They have afternoon tea that maybe a delight however, I didnt manage to have any since I was out most days. Used the gym once however their multifunctional machine was out of order. Loved the shower and the hot water was definitely good for the winter weather. Overall, would definitely stay here again when I return.

The hotel boasts an excellent location right next to the Bell Tower subway station, making it easy to walk to attractions like the Muslim Quarter and the Bell Tower. The rooms are clean and tidy, with complete amenities and comfortable bedding, perfect for short stays. The breakfast offers a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options, catering to different tastes. We even received a complimentary fruit platter upon check-in! However, some rooms can be affected by noise, and the room space is a bit small, which can feel cramped if you have a lot of luggage. Overall, it offers good value for money and is ideal for travelers who prioritize convenient transportation, though guests who require more space might want to inquire about room types beforehand.

Hotel is nicely located near Huiminjie @ Muslim Quater. Everything about the stay was pleasant except for the wifi. The connection was extremely slow. I needed to get some work done, and in the end my hotspot worked much better. Another issue was the centralised aircon system. During winter, it kept blowing warm air and the room felt quite suffocating. When I asked for help, the reception staff simply advised me to switch it off. Even with the aircon turned off, the room still felt stuffy. For those arriving by Didi, use the hotel’s main address from drop-off. If you use the “allocated” address shown in the app, the driver may drop you far from the actual hotel entrance and you’ll have to navigate the rest on your own. Overall, the stay was fine but these issues made it less comfortable than expected.

There are multiple disappointing things. The free ancient costume deal is pretty much useless because it only covers the clothing. If hair or makeup is needed, the price goes back to the same as the customer without the deal. No one walks around in ancient clothing with a modern haircut. There is no USB port on the wall for phone charging, a power adapter is required. The ceiling has water stains after three showers, see the picture below. When I checked out, Xiao Yang at the front desk gave me a souvenir and asked me to give a 5 star rating on the spot. I already booked the vehicle to take us to the station and the car was waiting outside. So I asked him to take the souvenir back and I would do the review later. He asked me to keep the souvenir. The housekeeper Xiao Liu was nice, left some snacks on our first day to welcome us and left a note on the places worth visiting. Even though we never met this housekeeper, our rooms were kept clean. The hotel building needs some serious renovation. The air conditioning is weak, so the rooms are still cold after I increased the temperature.

The room was great, very clean, and well-designed. It even came with a humidifier, which was a lifesaver in dry Xi'an. It helped a bit, though it seemed a bit old, and a stronger humidifying effect would have been even better. The rice noodles and wontons for breakfast were delicious! The chef made their own toppings and braised sauce, which tasted amazing. They also made their own spicy broth for the rice noodles, and the wontons were absolutely fantastic.

Renaissance Xi'an Hotel: A Quality Stay in the Ancient Capital, Full of Pleasant Surprises Choosing the Renaissance Xi'an Hotel for my trip to Xi'an was, without a doubt, the smartest decision! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the striking blend of the ancient capital's rich heritage and modern luxury immediately caught my eye. The warm lighting paired with Chinese-inspired decor created an elegant yet inviting atmosphere. The staff at check-in were efficient and professional, proactively offering information about hotel facilities and local attractions. Their meticulous service instantly left a great impression. The room layout was well-designed and spacious. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, I could glimpse the ethereal outline of the ancient city wall, and opening the window brought in the charm of the old city. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the blackout curtains effectively blocked out city noise, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep every night. The separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom were a thoughtful touch, the toiletries had a subtle, pleasant scent, and the high-end bathroom fixtures worked flawlessly, showcasing attention to detail and quality. The room was equipped with a full suite of smart devices; voice control for lights and curtains was incredibly convenient. The minibar offered a diverse selection of drinks and snacks, perfectly catering to small travel needs. The hotel's dining experience was simply amazing! The breakfast selection was extensive, featuring not only authentic Xi'an roujiamo (meat burgers) and hulutang (spicy soup), but also exquisite Chinese and Western dishes. The ingredients were fresh and the flavors authentic, with chefs readily preparing dishes to order. For dinner, I sampled local Shaanxi cuisine at the Chinese restaurant. The crispy yet tender Hu Lu Ji (gourd chicken) and the refreshing Liangpi (cold noodles), paired with the restaurant's special beverages, were a true delight for the taste buds. The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a few minutes' walk from the Ancient City Wall scenic area. It's also not far from popular attractions like the Bell and Drum Towers and the Muslim Quarter. Public transport is conveniently accessible, making getting around very easy. Furthermore, the hotel's fitness center and swimming pool offered a superb environment with a comprehensive range of fitness equipment.

I booked two nights here primarily for the excellent location. It's right next to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the Grand Tang Mall, so after a long day of walking, we could easily head back to the hotel to rest. Joy City is also nearby. Opened in 2012, the facilities are a bit old, the bedding is very average, but there are also highlights, smart toilet, smart gauze curtain, strong Chinese style and simple atmosphere. The service is very average, the concierge is also very poor and has no service awareness. There were some problems during the check-in process, but fortunately their manager (forgot to ask the name) solved them in time. They sent welcome fruits and breakfast. The environment is excellent, and the historic building boasts great character (though, understandably, the in-room facilities are not as modern). Breakfast was decent. The swimming pool and gym are shared with Sofitel, which is better than nothing. All the front desk staff were very friendly, proactively assisting with luggage, storing bags, and opening doors with a greeting. Outside the hotel window, there's a courtyard and water system featuring ginkgo, olive, walnut, and honey locust trees, perfect for a stroll. During my stay, I also visited the Chinese restaurant and the Legendary Lobby Bar. The coffee and sparkling water drinks were decent; people who prefer less sugar would particularly enjoy them.

This was my first time in Xi'an, and I wanted to experience the imperial hot spring culture. Overall, it far exceeded my expectations. **Environment:** No need to say much; it's located within the Huaqing Pool scenic area, with beautiful landscaping featuring rockeries and small ponds, truly like an imperial garden. During my visit, some palaces were still under construction. The hotel lobby also had a very grand and Tang Dynasty-inspired feel. I didn't get to visit the outdoor hot springs, so I'm not sure about their environment. **Service:** The service was absolutely impeccable. During my stay, hotel staff would first come to sanitize the private hot spring and then fill it with water in the evening. They even brought complimentary white fungus soup at night. Throughout my entire stay, I never had to carry my own luggage. However, the service attitude at the hotel's restaurant was mediocre. Even though a service fee was charged, we rarely saw any staff. We had to refill our own water and so on. I really don't know what that service fee was for. At the end, when paying the bill, they didn't even bother to ask if we were hotel guests. It was only when we had paid and were about to leave, requesting the hotel's shuttle bus, that they mentioned hotel guests get a discount on dining. They then refunded some money to us. For a hotel of this caliber, it's quite unbelievable.

As soon as we stepped into the lobby, the warm service from the front desk staff instantly washed away our travel fatigue. The room window opened to a cascading mountain view. In the evening, wrapped in a towel, we soaked in the hot springs, watching the sunset gradually change colors. The day's worries were completely washed away by the heat. The hot spring area was even more delightful: the herbal medicine pool exuded a subtle mugwort fragrance, leaving you feeling refreshed. The rose pool was filled with floating petals, creating a romantic photo filter. There was also a heated paddling pool designed specifically for children, perfect for families with children. Most thoughtfully, the staff were always available by the pool to offer hot towels and ginger tea, a touch of care hidden in every detail. The dining experience also didn't disappoint, with a rich breakfast buffet and convenient light meals for lunch and dinner. During the Christmas holiday, I traveled with my kids and booked the amazing suite. The room was super spacious, the balcony offered a wide view, and the bed was very comfortable. The day before check-in, the butler thoughtfully contacted us, and during our stay, the housekeeping staff observed our needs carefully, proactively providing an ashtray and A4 paper for my child's homework. The service was absolutely perfect! The breakfast was also incredibly rich, with all sorts of Xi'an specialty foods like Zēng gāo (steamed glutinous rice cake), Ròu jiā mó (Chinese hamburger), Hú là tāng (spicy soup), Yóu pō miàn (oil-splashed noodles), etc. The baked croissants were also delicious. There are many food delivery options nearby, and a robot delivers them right to your room door. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Xi'an. It's a highly recommended hotel! If I had to find a flaw, it would be the welcome music that automatically plays on the TV when you enter the room; it felt a bit disruptive. The hotel's overall design is modern, but the music was dynamic, too fast-paced, and a bit loud. Every day, the first thing I did when I returned to the room was to find the remote and turn it off. 😂

A comfortable older hotel on a human scale with a very pleasant ambience. It is my favourite hotel to stay in Xi'an. Pluses are the excellent breakfast choice, the professionalism of the staff, a refined choice of art on the walls, good beds and a fairly serene atmosphere with a lake with golden carp and buildings covered in ivy. The only real negative I could think of is that its not in the centre of Xi'an or by a major mall but there is a metro station directly outside with fast links to most places you would want to go. Also taxis are easy to get either at the hotel or at the main entrance. Considering the price Xi'an Jianguo is a really excellent choice for all types of travellers.

We stayed for two nights, on the 16th and 17th. On the 15th, I received a call from the hotel asking about our room preferences. I requested a room with a good view, non-smoking, and quiet. When we checked in, the staff assigned us room 213. This was the lowest floor I've ever stayed on in a hotel, and it was room number 13! I was surprised that the hotel actually had a room 13! How could an international hotel like this assign room 13 to a foreigner? During afternoon tea that day, besides my husband, myself, and an Asian mother and daughter, all the other guests were foreigners. This made me realize even more why I was so unlucky to get room 13! This hotel has such a unique room number 13, and they treat their own compatriots differently from foreigners! However, the smart toilet in room 13 was broken. It wouldn't automatically lift the lid or flush when you stood in front of it. What was even more unbearable was that as soon as you sat on it, the toilet would make a loud gurgling sound and automatically spray water on your backside. We tried it twice, and it happened both times. Also, the light switch was malfunctioning and didn't work. As a result, our room was changed to room 206. Neither room 13 nor room 06 had a French garden view; you could only see trees outside the window. Room 06 overlooked a concrete platform. I stayed during the off-season, and there were only a handful of guests at both afternoon tea and breakfast. Even during the peak breakfast time at 8 AM, there were only four tables with no more than ten guests. In such an off-season, why couldn't they offer us a higher floor with a better view? The male butler from the hotel called in advance on the 15th to ask about my room preferences; wasn't that just being insincere and fake? The staff's service level was inconsistent. Two female servers at afternoon tea and breakfast simply didn't observe guests' needs. The slim, tall female server in the afternoon tea restaurant had an ice-cold expression and no proactive service awareness. One female server in the breakfast restaurant looked like she hadn't woken up yet, with messy hair, no makeup, and ill-fitting work clothes, completely lacking the demeanor of a star-rated hotel employee. More importantly, this server didn't proactively observe guests' tables. Every time, we had to call her to take away the empty plates. Even more exaggerated, when she took away empty plates, she wouldn't simultaneously take away empty cups, nor would she think to ask. Let's talk about the problems with the breakfast restaurant: First, the flowers on the dining tables were fake! For a 'diamond-level' hotel like this, how can they put fake flowers on the tables? If they want to save costs, there are many ways: place some air plants or soilless succulents, or even small, easy-to-care-for plants. Anything real would be more tasteful than these fake ones. Regardless, a 'diamond-level' hotel should not have fake flowers on its dining tables. This is disrespectful to guests. Second, there was a wide variety of bread, but no chain-type toaster to heat the bread. This is usually a staple at the bread station in five-star hotels. Yet, at this 'super five-star' hotel, you can only eat cold bread for breakfast. Third, the restaurant only provided toothpicks, not dental floss sticks. Nowadays, even very ordinary restaurants offer dental floss sticks. A 'diamond-level' hotel like this should provide guests with dental floss sticks, and ideally, toothpick brushes. Additionally, the steps in the bathrooms of both room 13 and room 06 were damaged. In room 13, the hotel actually used cheap, uneven gray adhesive corner guards, which looked very out of place and clashed with the exquisite French decor. They should have used brass stair nosings! During my two-day stay at the hotel, Ms. Doris Du's kindness, politeness, proactive work attitude, and professional image left a very good impression on me. After we checked in and received our key, she led us to our room. She first gave us a tour of the hotel and introduced its history. On the day we checked out, she happened to be on duty at the front desk. She was the only staff member at the hotel who immediately stood up to greet guests upon seeing them! The only one! This small professional gesture of hers was like the first ray of sunshine in the morning, warming my heart! Recalling my check-in, there was a male and female staff member at the front desk. They did not stand up to greet us when guests checked in. When we received our room cards and got up to leave, they remained seated without moving. This is disrespectful to guests. Staff should stand up to greet guests when they arrive, ask them to sit down, and then sit down themselves to process the check-in. When guests receive their room cards and get up, the staff should also stand up to see them off. Such basic courtesies of polite welcome and farewell were completely lacking! On the day I checked in, I had two items of clothing that needed ironing. The female staff member who was on duty at the front desk that day came to our room to collect them. During the process of opening the door to see her, handing her the clothes, and briefly communicating with her, she maintained an ice-cold demeanor throughout, without a hint of a smile. She was not the only female staff member in this hotel who provided service without a smile. In summary, all these issues, and more, expose the hotel's unprofessional training and inadequate management. Sofitel Legend People's Grand Hotel Xian is not directly affiliated with the Sofitel group; it is part of the People's Grand Building owned by Shaanxi Urban Investment and Operations Group Co., Ltd., and is operated by AccorHotels, a French hotel management group. Therefore, the experience was vastly different from the Sofitel hotels I've stayed at abroad.

I really liked the room. Before arriving, I tried to ask the front desk on Trip.com if I could get an upgrade, but they refused. When I got there, I saw that Trip.com still had twin rooms available and asked if I could upgrade, but they told me I'd have to pay the difference to upgrade to a king room, which were all sold out anyway. As the saying goes, 'misfortune may be a blessing in disguise,' and this twin room on the 26th floor, 2612, was a bit tucked away but overall very good. The consistent design and symmetrical beds reflected traditional Chinese aesthetics. Although the sofa area wasn't large, the location was great, and it had a definite wet/dry separation. The next morning, I went for breakfast. The hostess quickly found a seat for me, and plates were cleared promptly during the meal. The service was excellent, though I was too busy to catch her name; she just looked plump and cheerful. Around 11 AM, I went to the swimming pool and met Cheng Xue'er from the gym. She was incredibly polite and courteous, and after my swim, she gave me a bag for my swimsuit. At first, I thought she was an intern, but she's actually a fitness coach – don't be 'charmed' by her beautiful, petite, and cute appearance like I was! Afterward, I had lunch at the Chinese restaurant. I had made a reservation, and they held the table for me. I'd seen reviews on other apps praising their service, and it truly lived up to expectations. From the manager to the front desk and service staff, everyone exuded professionalism. I especially want to thank Ms. Zhang Jing and Mr. Liu Anjun (Jun) for their meticulous and thoughtful service and impeccable etiquette. Thank you for the encounter, and I wish you all the best.

We arrived late at night after a long drive. I had already noted in the booking that we needed two adjoining rooms. However, the rooms we were assigned were in an extremely remote location, almost at the end of the corridor, and upon entering, there was a strong smell of smoke. With children in tow, we had no choice but to request a room change. Although the new room was closer to the elevator, the sofa was a short one, inconsistent with the promotional photos. The next day, we discovered that our window faced directly onto the parking lot entrance and the kitchen chimney, and there was no balcony, making the comfort level extremely poor. During our discussion, the duty manager tried to shirk responsibility, claiming to be new and unfamiliar with the room types, but he has actually been employed for over three months (I saw your name in other reviews). His professionalism needs improvement. Although he later worked very diligently to bring in a longer sofa as a remedy, it took over an hour, leaving the room in a mess and severely impacting our check-in experience. Considering an average price of 1600 per night, and as a luxury hotel brand, room allocation and housekeeping services should not have these issues. I recommend choosing this hotel with caution. Additionally, none of the special activities included in our package were utilized.

Awesome stay experience, worth unlimited repurchase! I chose this hotel for this trip, from booking to check-out, full of surprises, completely exceeding expectations! First of all, praise the location, just in the core business district of the city center, a few minutes walk to the subway station, the surrounding dining, convenience stores, Kaiyuan shopping malls are not far away. Whether it is business travel or tourism, it is super convenient to check in, saving a lot of commute time. When checking in, the front desk staff was very enthusiastic, took the initiative to help with luggage, patiently answered various questions, and also intimately informed the surrounding play guide and breakfast time, the processing speed is also very fast, no need to wait for a long time. Entering the room was amazing instantly, the room was more spacious and bright than the picture, the decoration style was simple and atmospheric without losing warmth, the facilities and equipment were all available and very new. The mattress is moderately firm, the bedding is clean and tidy with a faint fragrance, and the height of the pillow is also very suitable, so that I, a light sleeper, can sleep well all night. The space is spacious and not crowded, the hot water supply is timely and the water temperature is stable, the toiletries are branded, the texture is very good, even the wind of the hair dryer is very sufficient. The WiFi signal in the room is full, the drama and office are not stuck at all, the TV programs are also very rich, and the details are full of intimate. Breakfast is a highlight! The restaurant is clean and tidy, with rich and varied dishes, Chinese buns, porridge, hot dishes, Western bread, coffee, salad, fresh fruit and exquisite desserts, fresh ingredients, authentic taste, can meet the needs of different tastes. The staff will replenish the dishes in time, clean up the table is also very diligent, and the dining experience is particularly good. In addition, the public areas of the hotel are also very clean, the elevator runs smoothly and quickly, there is no smell in the corridor, and it is also equipped with a fitness room and laundry room. The fitness equipment is complete. The laundry room equipment is also very new. It is too practical for people who travel for a long time. The staff was also efficient and fast when checking out, and also took the initiative to ask about the check-in experience, which was especially warm. All in all, this was a perfect stay experience, no matter the location, room facilities, catering service or the attitude of the staff, it was impeccable. Next time you come to this city, you will definitely choose this hotel, and I highly recommend it to friends who plan to travel, and you will definitely not be disappointed!

Location near to bell tower but need to walk to main road if you take didi, and the reception will not help on this. Clean room but smelly due to humid, cleaner are super helpful but the attitude of these reception (except the young lady in evening shift) are all are “Manxin”, not up to the standard. Overall ok, but you could get better service if you choose other hotels. Also, no gift and room upgrade as shown in reservation, like fake advertising.

Everything is good. They only have one washing machine and heater. So we need to wait for some time to wash our cloths as we stay over there for one weeks. Remarkable service from Soon Xiao Ni and the crew provide daily breakfast. She is professionalism, attention to detail, and kindness made a big difference. I truly appreciate her dedication to her works.

The room is very comfortable, the service is very thoughtful and meticulous. I will choose the Four Seasons Hotel next time. The hotel's robot meal delivery service is especially popular with children. The front desk service is very good.

The room was great, fully equipped, and especially quiet. It's very close to Xi'an North Railway Station, and they offer a shuttle service, which is perfect for guests catching trains from there. Dining and shopping nearby are very convenient. Plus, it's away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The room service was good, affordable, and the staff had a great attitude. Breakfast was decent, and all the staff, though a bit older, were exceptionally friendly.

The hotel is in a great location, quiet in a busy city, comfortable environment, rich breakfast, good night greetings every night, milk 🥛 and eye masks are delivered to the room, the front desk and room service staff are very polite and greet every day, it feels like being at home! There is also free rental of Hanfu in the lobby on the first floor, there is a balcony on the 4th floor, there is afternoon tea, there are many food and bars on the street outside the hotel, it is more than 10 minutes away from the subway, and it is very convenient to various tourist attractions! The hotel also helped to extend the check-out time when leaving the hotel, which helped me to check out conveniently! It's really considerate! I will stay here again when I come to Xi'an next time!
