4-Star Hotels in Ehime Prefecture, Japan

First, the best things about this hotel were its convenient location, polite staff, and excellent breakfast. The most unpleasant part was the lack of hotel parking. It is necessary to park in the nearby parking lot, pay 1,000 Yen for each day, and then drag the suitcases to the hotel because there is no space to stop the car in front of the hotel to load or unload. The bathroom was far from spotless. Although we booked a so-called superior room and asked for a quiet room, noise from the tramway in front of the hotel was audible. Overall, the hotel deserves three stars, not four.

I booked a two-bed room, which was quite spacious, but it didn't include breakfast and still cost 1418 RMB, even on a weekday. I really felt it was too expensive. Similar rooms at the Crowne Plaza and Daiwa Roynet Hotel nearby were only around 800 RMB and 600 RMB, respectively, for the same day. Aside from the high price, the hotel's hot spring and complimentary udon noodles were indeed excellent. During the hot spring's operating hours, there were free ice cream and Yakult available for self-service. This hotel is located on Ookaido street, a 10-minute walk from Matsuyama Castle, 2 minutes from Mitsukoshi department store, and 3 minutes from the tram station to Matsuyama JR Station. Once you get your bearings, it feels very convenient. I just wish the price wasn't so high; I think maybe I overpaid this time!

Matsuyama Castle is also within walking distance. 💁 **Service** The front desk staff provided good service with a proactive attitude, which is quite rare for hotels in Japan. 🛏️ **Facilities** The facilities are quite comprehensive, typical of a standard business hotel. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, and the shower space is ample. There's also a coin-operated washing machine, convenient for longer stays. Overall, this hotel offers great value for money, with a convenient location, spacious and clean rooms, and excellent service. It's perfect for a short stay in Matsuyama.

Nice Hotel, location is central enough to walk around, train station is in front of the hotel to board for Dogo Onsen. We opt out of housekeeping as we are just staying for 2 nights, the hotel gives us some vouchers to use @Matsuyama Ropeway Shopping District.

The hotel is not close to Dogo Onsen street and you will need to drive or get a taxi if you want to go there. There are no restaurants or shops nearby the hotel. There is a walk nearby the hotel you can take which offers nice scenery in the woods. The hotel looks a bit dated particularly the bedrooms and the corridors. I asked for a quiet room facing the mountain instead of one facing a busy road and had to pay an additional 2200 yen. The hotel has a number of onsens and I like the outdoor ones best. The buffet dinner and breakfast offer good selection and I particularly like the dinner which offered nice teppanyaki beef and sushi. The hotel reception staff spoke very little English and the hotel did not reply to an email I sent them asking for transportation information to get to the hotel. There are buses near the hotel which go to Matsuyama and Imabari but they run infrequently.

Amazing value for such a high class hotel. Spacious rooms, beautiful spa with indoor and outdoor baths. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly. About 10 mins walk from JR station. I always stay here when visiting Imabari.

The hotel is exquisite and spacious. It has a private sauna and bathtub, which is a great enjoyment. The service staff is very good. There is a shopping mall downstairs. The location is very good

The hotel is quite new and modern. The onsen is nice, but tattoos are not allowed (covering them with stickers is ok). The rooms are impeccable and well furnished, but on the smaller side.

Hotel has some distance from the main Dogo mall but it has shuttle bus running every 10 mins from 3-10. Hotel itself is very clean and most of the staff were so friendly and carried traditional Japanese good manner. My room is Japanese style and I love it. The breakfast was ok but the dinner was abundant, delicious and presented nicely. The staff named Itsuki Deguchi who took care my check in and dining service did a good job worthy to receive compliments. Onsen was clean and very nice. Will stay again next time

This is the first time I've given a full 5-star rating; absolutely no flaws! The location is fantastic, and the ¥2,500 breakfast is incredible value for money. I loved the 9:30 PM complimentary late-night snack and the daily complimentary drink. It's also the first time I've ever seen a foot massager in a hotel room. You can catch the airport limousine bus right across the street, and Okaido shopping street and the Mitsukoshi department store are right there too. Matsuyama Castle is just behind the hotel—less than a 10-minute walk—and the tram stops right out front for easy access to the train station and Dogo Onsen.
