We had a nice stay there. Hotel is located near drum tower. Convenient to walk around to the food area. The receptionists are helpful and courteous. Breakfast is quite good and healthy for people who don’t like local spicy food. Room is clean.

The room was clean and well-equipped. However, the front desk service was just average. When I booked through Trip.com, there was supposed to be an upgrade, but the staff member seemed to have overlooked it. After I pointed out the issue, they paused for a moment, then spent a long time looking for the order, only to say that all rooms were full. Yet, Trip.com clearly showed available rooms. It was only after I threatened to contact Trip.com that they reluctantly said they'd make a room available for me, without a hint of apology, just annoyance at having to make the change. This incident left a really bad taste; it was clearly their mistake, but they made it seem like I was trying to get something for free.

I found this hotel through a ranking, and since it was the off-season, it was absolutely excellent value for money. My flight arrived early due to the weather, and the airport pickup driver had to wait for over an hour, which I felt bad about, but the driver was very polite. The hotel is newly renovated, and the room's smart home system is very convenient, controllable by voice. The night market is within walking distance, and Dunhuang Bookstore and Sanju are right next door. The Dunhuang night market is the cleanest and most well-organized I've ever seen, and the food is especially delicious. This is a city full of warmth; everyone I met was incredibly hospitable, whether it was the hotel staff, the people at the night market, or just random people on the street. This made me feel completely at ease as a stranger traveling in Dunhuang. Many thanks to the people of Dunhuang.

During my New Year's Day trip to Zhangye, I chose to stay at the Zhangye Puyue Hotel for two nights, and overall, the experience was great. Here are a few points I can share for future travelers: 1. The hotel is very close to Zhangye West Station, just about a 5-minute walk after exiting the station, which is very convenient. They also offer late check-out, allowing you to return to the hotel to pack your luggage after morning sightseeing, so you don't have to carry everything with you. 2. The hotel's living environment is good, with clean and tidy rooms. Despite the low outdoor temperatures in winter, the hotel's interior was warm and comfortable. 3. The staff at the front desk and restaurant were friendly. Check-in and answering questions were handled promptly and efficiently. They also provided useful information for our stay and exploration. In the mornings, when entering the restaurant, they would greet us warmly. The food selection included some Northwestern specialties, and the beef noodles were particularly delicious. 4. As for the city of Zhangye itself, all the attractions and scenic spots are quite unique. The mountain landscapes, canyons, and temples are distinct from those in the inland plains, and they are especially stunning and magnificent in winter. When I have time off work, I'd love to come back to experience Zhangye in summer or autumn, and I'll definitely stay at the Puyue Hotel again!

The room was newly renovated and looked quite comfortable. For the price, to get accommodation in this location, with rooms of this quality, a rich and delicious breakfast every day, free shuttle service to and from the station, and a complimentary shared tour for the West Line day trip, it's simply an incredible value. However, I was a bit unlucky with my stay this time. In the first room I checked into, the window seemed to lack soundproofing. The weather was cold, and the air conditioning was off, so the room became increasingly stuffy. Also, the ceiling would make a 'thump, thump, bang' sound every now and then. The 'bang' was so loud that even with in-ear headphones on and listening to music while trying to sleep, I'd be startled awake. It's also possible I was too tired and overly sensitive to sounds. I couldn't sleep until early morning. Thankfully, the front desk was willing to move me to another room even at that hour. After switching rooms, it was much better – much quieter and not as stuffy. I had a comfortable stay after that!

The price-performance ratio is truly excellent. For a budget hotel costing just over 100 yuan, the service and attention to detail are exceptional. The bed is soft and comfortable, there's a bathtub, and the bathroom has sliding doors on both sides, allowing for an open or private experience. The towels are comfortable, the room is quiet and clean, and there are plenty of charging ports. Even if clothes left in the laundry room aren't dry in time, a staff member will help dry them and bring them to the room, ensuring I get a good night's rest. The breakfast is also good, with no substandard or half-hearted ingredients. All the details meet the standards of a hotel costing just over 300 yuan. I would definitely stay here again.

This was the second Mercure hotel on our trip, and overall, the facilities were quite good. **Facilities:** The hotel is well-equipped. The lobby is clean and bright. As expected from an Accor property, the decor style and design elements are largely consistent. What truly stood out was that on each floor's common area, right outside the elevator, there was a row of complimentary bottled water. This is quite rare in other hotels and very convenient for guests to grab. Breakfast is served on the 21st floor, offering a panoramic view and a great sense of openness. On another note, staying on the 14th floor, the water pressure was a bit low, and the shower felt like it didn't have enough flow. **Hygiene:** The room's cleanliness was generally acceptable, but I found a long hair stuck to a tile in the bathroom. It felt like the cleaning wasn't thorough, which was a bit off-putting. Also, there was a small tear on the bed linen. I'm not sure if it was an oversight, but ideally, it should have been replaced. **Service:** The hotel's front desk manager took my feedback very seriously. Afterwards, they even proactively called us to inform us that the issues had been rectified. This was truly excellent.

My recent stay at this hotel was truly exceptional! Its location is very easy to find, with navigation leading directly to the hotel entrance, and complimentary parking is a huge plus. The front desk staff were warm, enthusiastic, and patiently answered all our inquiries. Our room was spotlessly clean, and the bathroom had no unpleasant odors. The space was generous, and the layout was practical. Plus, there are numerous fantastic dining options nearby. It's perfectly situated for both business travelers and tourists, being close to major attractions and very convenient for getting around. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and will definitely choose it again next time without a second thought!

AAnonymous UserOn baidu map, it says that from Zhangye railway station to the hotel is about 3 km but when actually navigating my way over while carrying a luggage, it was so much further than I'd expect because Zhnagye's road and traffic are quite chaotic. Many traffic lights aren't even in operation and there are quite a few (3 I think) t+junctions that pedestrian have to cross via the underpass. The cars doesn't quite obey the traffic lights, so be careful and cautious. For the hotel itself, it's definitely one of my favorite overall, out of my 3 hotel stays during my trip. According to the receptionist I was offered a room upgrade, so thank you! There were also lots of free treats evertime I cleared it, so thank you again! Love especially the red dates yogurt, it's definitely a must try (although they were 2-3days after expiry). I even went out to the grocery to get more! Regarding the amenities, the air conditioner works but can't be controlled. Tried setting temp to 5 degree Celsius (lowest settings) and 30 degree celcius (highest setting), both doesn't work. It seems like it is fixed to room temp +/- a few degrees based on the temp outdoor. One of the day I had sunburn and wanted to cool off but due to how the temp was determined, I have no choice but to sweat it out. Other than that, the tap water here had very visible residue that you can tell that it isn't clear, so I really recommend not using it for drinking water boiled or not. Aon my last day, I wanted to try the bathtub but when I turned on the tap, I had a shock. The water that came out was brown, so I cancelled my initial plan of using it for relaxation 😕. There is also a humidifier provided and I am super grateful for that, however the water ran out on the 2nd day and I can't seem to fill it up correctly. The toilet bowl is also a smart toilet bowl, but I didn't realized it after closer inspection while trying to find how to flush. Lastly, I was so looking forward to the stars celling but it's kinda sad that you can't turn it on on its own without having the other lights turned on as well. Which honestly defeats the purpose of having a star gazing celling.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent; right outside, you can catch buses to destinations like Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, the airport, the train station, and Xuanquanzi Scenic Area. The hotel interior is also quite new, and the bedding is good. Downsides: The water wasn't hot enough. They required a 30 RMB deposit for each room key card, which is something I haven't seen in years. For such a large hotel, it felt really petty. The front desk service wasn't bad, but it felt a bit forced and uncomfortable. I don't know why, but they barely smiled, which made me wonder if the management was mistreating them? It just made for an uncomfortable experience. They offer a station drop-off service, which I initially thought was a nice perk. However, the communication was unclear, and I wasn't sure if the car was even there. When you're traveling in an unfamiliar place and have a train to catch, punctuality is crucial. No one could give me a clear answer. In the end, I had to repeatedly press the front desk in the morning before they could confirm. It left a very bad impression; the entire management seems to have issues.

GGuest UserThe service was excellent! The room came with complimentary soda, snacks, and a cute camel plushie keychain. They even provided steam eye masks and foot-soaking tubs. There's a self-service laundry room and a communal drying area. It's a pet-friendly hotel, and there's an adorable cat in the lobby that you can pet. Right next door, there's Mixue Ice Cream and Hao Xiang Lai, and across the street, a beef noodle restaurant. It's less than 2km from Dunhuang Night Market, which is a 6 RMB taxi ride or a comfortable walk.

UU.weixiaoThe room was very clean, the service was friendly, and the front desk lady upgraded the family room for free, which was very nice. The breakfast was also very good, and the hotel was in a good location. It was very cheap to take a taxi. It was very close to Shazhou Night Market and Crescent Moon Lake, and it only cost 5 yuan to get to the night market. After comparing it with 4-star hotels, I feel that this hotel is very cost-effective. Recommended 👍👍👍👍👍

AAnonymous UserI stayed at this hotel for two nights, so I thought I'd share my review. I had very high expectations before coming, as there were many positive reviews and recommendations online. Perhaps my high expectations led to a big disappointment. First, let me mention the good points: there's a pick-up service, although there was no welcome tea in the car as some mentioned, but that's fine; the room was quite large; there was plenty of water and two drinks in the room; you can order room service without an extra charge; and when I asked about laundry, the staff member said I could do it myself or they could do it for me. They seemed a bit reluctant but did help me in the end, haha. Now for the negatives: first, the room. The first room I was given wasn't warm, noticeably not warm. When I called a staff member, they said it was because I had turned on the air conditioning. I was speechless at that point – I only turned on the A/C because it was cold, and I had it on for less than five minutes. I don't appreciate staff immediately blaming the customer. They then moved me to another room, which was very noisy as it faced the road. Firecrackers were going off from midnight until before 6 AM, which was quite startling. Next, the food. Breakfast can only be described as poor; it barely felt like a buffet, with very few options and not very tasty. If you ordered lunch or dinner, the staff would ignore you if you were alone. I sat there for a long time and had to call a staff member three times before someone finally took my order. The Mala Tang was good, but the hand-grabbed lamb was very *****, and the fried shrimp was sweet, which was a strange combination. Regarding the service: I read online that the service was excellent, but I didn't really experience that. There was a foot bath tub, but the water in the kettle was cold. When I changed rooms, I had to carry my own luggage while the staff member just watched. They mentioned a 'good night milk' service, but I didn't get it on the first night; I had to call for it myself on the second night. When I felt unwell and asked the front desk where a hospital was, feeling very dizzy, the staff member seemed quite indifferent, saying they weren't sure if it was open or not. I didn't experience the warmth and enthusiasm that many reviews mentioned. This hotel was one I had been eyeing for a while. I couldn't book it initially during the Chinese New Year, but then I managed to, which made me quite happy and expectant. Overall, if you treat it like a chain hotel, the service is okay, and they'll wash your clothes. But if you're coming specifically for the service, don't have high expectations – no expectations means less disappointment. The price is still higher than other hotels in Zhangye. Honestly, it's far worse than the one I stayed at in Dunhuang. One more thing I forgot to mention: the toothbrush was terrible, truly terrible, with bristles that poked my mouth.

DDunhuanglvyoutuijianA perfect stay experience beyond expectations! Definitely worth recommending! This trip to Dunhuang chose the Zen Twin Room of Hexi Corridor Hotel, which completely exceeded my expectations! The hotel is equipped with fruits and Dunhuang apricot peel water. From check-in to check-out, every detail makes people feel thoughtful. Environmental facilities: The hotel decoration is very Silk Road style, the lobby is magnificent, the room is spacious and bright, the bedding is comfortable and clean, and the beautiful night view of the Danghe style line can be seen outside the window. It is very beautiful. Overlooking the Dunhuang Mingsha Mountain from a distance, it is simply a resting place tailored for travel! Service attitude: The front desk lady is warm and thoughtful, the room aunt cleans meticulously, and the room is brand new after returning from the scenic spot. Geographical location: It is only a few hundred meters away from Dunhuang Bookstore and more than 5 kilometers away from Mingsha Mountain and other attractions. There is a supermarket downstairs. It is very convenient to take a taxi or drive by car, which saves a lot of time. Special experience: The local specialties for breakfast are super rich, and I also went to see the performance of Ledong Dunhuang in the evening! I will definitely choose here next time I come to Dunhuang!

DDawson LottHonestly the service at this hotel is what made the trip! The brothers that own the place are extremely friendly and helped drive us around to everything from the sights to their food recommendations that were all delicious. Not to mention beer, fruit and other drinks are all included at the hotel free of charge! It’s also walking distance to the oasis. To any foreigner wanting to travel here, these guys make it so easy and stress free, it’s worth it for them, plus there’s a place to swim amongst the heat and great air conditioning. You can see the dunes from the roof of the hotel too, where there’s tables and chairs to relax for a drink. Would come again in a heart beat.

GGuest UserAmazing hotel! Wasn’t sure what to expect, but its location is so close to the national park, and there’s a lot of little shops and restaurants around in the area. It’s better to stay here than in the city of Zhangye. Though the staff and I could not communicate verbally, the translation apps were perfectly fine and everyone at the hotel was very kind. The hotel went above expectation in accommodating us, and the breakfast had a large variety of food as well. Would definitely recommend!

There was great choice for breakfast and the staff were very attentive, even bringing local dishes over to us to try and ensuring we had everything we needed.
