OMO Kansai Airport by Hoshino Resorts

9.2/10
Great

Pros: 1. The pajamas have a cute runway-pattern design. 2. The lobby is quite beautiful. 3. Close to both the airport and the train station. 4. Each floor has a microwave, ice machine, and water purifier (you need to bring your own kettle from the room to fill it). 5. There's a Lawson convenience store on the second floor of the hotel. Cons: 1. Regarding the free shuttle bus: It only goes from the hotel to the airport, there's no service from the airport to the hotel (I've stayed at the Washington Hotel next door before, and they offer free shuttle service both ways). OMO's shuttle bus requires scanning a QR code on a brochure at the hotel front desk to make a reservation, and the process also involves email confirmation, which is quite complicated. In contrast, the Washington Hotel only requires operating on a tablet in the lobby. However, for both hotels, there's a possibility that your desired time slot might already be fully booked. 2. Regarding toiletries: This is the first time I've encountered a hotel in Japan that doesn't provide small packages of makeup remover, facial cleanser, and skincare products. They only offer toothbrushes, green tea bags, razors, and bath towels. I can't understand how it was rated five stars. The front desk replied that if you need makeup remover and skincare products, you have to use them at the large public bath on the 3rd floor (which is not a hot spring). However, not all guests want to go to the public bath to shower, and guests on their period cannot go either. Moreover, the hairdryer area in the large public bath on the 3rd floor only has 6 mirrors + hairdryers and only 2 stools. Everyone else has to stand. This is quite inconsiderate for a hotel with nearly 20 floors and dozens of rooms per floor. 3. Regarding the water temperature in the room's bathroom: The water from the sink faucet easily becomes super hot. Even if the handle is adjusted all the way to the right (the cold water zone), the super hot situation doesn't change. After multiple experiments, I found that the faucet's water temperature is affected by using the shower head in the bathtub or flushing the toilet. For example: if the faucet is running and someone flushes the toilet, the water becomes super hot; or if someone is using the shower head in the bathtub, the water also becomes super hot. 4. Regarding noise in the room: Both the refrigerator and air conditioner generate noise. If you don't use the refrigerator, you can turn it off. However, even when the air conditioner is set to the lowest fan speed, there's still significant noise. The video shows it being filmed at the bedside with the lowest fan speed setting. Even with earplugs, the noise is still clearly audible, making it unsuitable for light sleepers who are sensitive to sound. Neutral points: 1. The mattress is quite soft, suitable for those who prefer a soft bed. 2. The room has 4 hangers (2 with clips), while the Washington Hotel has 9 hangers.

Waldorf Astoria Osaka

Waldorf set the tone for the entire luxury hotel in Osaka, it deserves the highest praise. From the moment you step out of the car upon entering the hotel, the emotional experience is flawless. Upon reaching the reception area, the hot towels and tea are a first thing you'll find that sets it apart from other luxury hotels. This attention to detail is so thoughtful; it shows how much they understand that after transportation, travelers can perform a handwashing ritual, representing not only physical cleanliness but also a reminder of mental well-being. It's fantastic. The only suggestion I could make is that having someone sit down during check-in would be better than standing at the reception desk. Other staff members who left a deep impression included Yui and another girl who showed us to our room (I don't remember her name, but I do remember she taught me that Yui's name is Y and I; she was all smiles, in high spirits, and explained the hotel facilities very well, greatly reducing any sense of unfamiliarity as a new guest). Since we returned to the hotel quite late that night, we mainly went to the bar near the back entrance for drinks. The bartenders were very attentive, and the welcome drink was delicious. When leaving the hotel, the staff throughout the journey were attentive. Because our next destination was relatively close to the hotel, the staff at the entrance (I forgot his name, but I remember he was short and had braces; his performance that day was perfect) arranged for a hotel car to escort us there. The driver was Italian, very professional, and had an excellent attitude. Words of gratitude are insufficient to praise this outstanding driver. If a hotel's maximum score is 5, I would give it a 6. It truly embodies the image of a luxury hotel and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. I will definitely return on my next trip. I am grateful for everyone's efforts throughout the journey.

Hotel Nikko Osaka

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right across from Daimaru Department Store and Parco Mall, with direct access to the Midosuji subway line downstairs. I especially want to praise the front desk staff. On the night of check-in, my suitcase lock broke, and I couldn't open it. I struggled to communicate using broken English and a translation app, but the front desk lady found a staff member who spoke Chinese to help. A kind gentleman with glasses and big eyes used a tool to open one of the zippers for me, saving me from the embarrassment of not having any clothes to change into in the hot weather. I'm truly grateful to the staff at Hotel Nikko for making my first trip to Japan such a positive experience. The room was also great. Since I wanted to sleep in during the day, I requested that housekeeping be done after 12 PM, and they always cleaned promptly every day. I was so busy every day that I only managed to take one photo of the Osaka Castle view from outside the hotel.

The hotel's location is a bit off the beaten path, but transportation is still convenient. It's a 10-minute walk to Tenmabashi. The complimentary cookies at check-in were delicious! The room layout is well-designed; we could fit a stroller and open two large suitcases comfortably. Plus, the baby cot was free, though it needed to be reserved in advance.

My stay at this hotel was absolutely flawless, but what truly blew me away was its unbeatable location! Stepping out of the hotel puts you right in the bustling heart of Shinsaibashi, which is an absolute paradise for anyone who loves shopping and good food. Whether you're looking to snap up the latest fashion trends, explore department stores, or stock up on cosmetics and *****, all the shopping hotspots are just steps away. The best part is that when your hands are full with shopping bags, you can just pop back to your room to drop them off within minutes, then head out again unencumbered – no more struggling on the subway with heavy loads. The dining options downstairs are so abundant it’s hard to choose! From authentic takoyaki and okonomiyaki to ramen shops and izakayas that still have queues late into the night, you'll never have to worry about going hungry. Staying here truly makes for a perfect trip where everything you need – from vibrant city life to delicious food and entertainment – is right at your doorstep. It’s definitely the top choice for anyone visiting Osaka; I highly recommend it to everyone!

When I booked this hotel, it clearly stated that children stay for free. However, upon arrival, the hotel informed us that children over 7 years old would be charged. Specifically, our 7-year-old was charged the full adult rate, which amounted to 43,300 JPY for 3 nights. Despite this additional charge, there was no room upgrade to accommodate the extra cost. Attempts to resolve this with the hotel were fruitless (it was extremely difficult to communicate with the Japanese staff; they couldn't understand English, refused to acknowledge the issue, and were unwilling to take responsibility). The negotiation lasted an hour, during which my 11-month-old child was crying, and there was no offer of comfort or a solution. Due to this experience, and not because of the location, I will not be staying at this hotel again.

This hotel is super close to Namba Station, which is a major transportation hub. It's a new hotel with very new facilities. The room is a bit small but very well-designed, and the bedding is really comfortable. The hotel has a very 'Thai' scent, which is quite unique. It seems they don't usually offer free room upgrades, but when I arrived, the front desk proactively offered a discounted upgrade. The hotel is also very near to Takashimaya and other shopping spots. The Namba area is great for exploring, and you can get to Umeda in just four subway stops. Definitely worth staying here!

The hotel was very clean, and the front desk staff were all incredibly nice and super patient! The location is really convenient – you just take the Karasuma Line to Shijo Station, and it's right outside exit 6. There's a Starbucks, a Torikizoku (yakitori restaurant), and a drug store right by the hotel entrance. Daimaru department store is only a few minutes' walk away, and if you keep going past Daimaru, you can reach Shinkyogoku and Takashimaya. I originally booked three nights but ended up staying a whole week! It's not noisy at night, except for the occasional motorcycle. Highly recommend! The first picture shows the hotel's location.

Facilities: The classic quality of a long-standing luxury brand. Hygiene: Impeccable, as expected in Japan. Environment: Right above the railway station. Service: First-class service quality! Surrounded by amazing food options! An indispensable choice when in Umeda! However, it's a bit pricey and the rooms are a bit small.

This is a hotel I'll definitely stay at again next time I'm in Osaka ☺️. The Zen-inspired design blends seamlessly with modern elements, and every staff member I encountered was professional, enthusiastic, and made me feel welcome. Breakfast was also unexpectedly good 👍. The hotel is right at Osaka Station, which makes shopping incredibly convenient 🥰.
