Great value for money, very satisfied overall.
1) Convenience store nearby
2) Ski rental shop nearby
3) Acceptable walking distance to the Shinkansen station
4) Daily room cleaning service
5) The owner is very kind and friendly
6) Laundry room and drying facilities for clothes and ski gear available
7) Would be even more perfect for ski enthusiasts if they had a car
The room was clean and tidy, and the location is very close to Naeba Ski Resort. The guesthouse offers a shuttle service every day, but even if you miss it, it's only a 5-10 minute walk back. The owners are a Chinese couple who have lived in Japan for many years; they are very warm and provide excellent service, which is especially convenient for Chinese travelers who don't speak Japanese. Thanks again to the owners for their warm hospitality, and for the delicious food (Gochisousama deshita)!
This was my first time staying here. The building doesn't seem to be new, but from the entrance you can feel the atmosphere and history of the building.
The hallways are long and there are many banquet halls, so it seems like the building must have been bustling in the past.
The tatami room was clean and I was able to stay comfortably, but the TV was small, which was a bit of a concern.
I went to the recommended open-air rock bath in the morning, and the atmosphere was great, the water felt good, and my skin felt smooth after the bath all day.
The breakfast area was also stylishly designed, and the variety of dishes and elaborate food was very delicious.
The other person who went with me was very satisfied and said that he would like to stay here again next time.
I stopped by on a business trip this time, and had a very pleasant time.
Thank you very much.
Excellent service. You got everthing you need in the room. Also got free coffee, tea, cake in the lobby. Free parking. Recommended for short stay. Huge bed very comfortable.
Xinyi is the kingdom of rice, specialty super delicious white rice. And stone pellets are the premier white rice in Japan.
Very recommended for one berth and two food plans, I have 3 bowls of white rice or more! ! ! !
ski center meals are provided with home-grown very high-quality white rice, crystal clear, grains are full! ! !
Breakfast can have irregular yam mud with raw eggs, soy sauce, rice heart will not absorb too much eggs and sauce, just the right elasticity and Q bullet, the appearance with yam smooth tenderness, soy sauce glycol, fresh eggs aftertaste endless, so that every grain of rice can fully show its own flavor, Serve with local Japanese home-cooked pickles, let the taste buds wake up, bowl after bowl.
In the evening, there will be sea and land double fights, the main dishes are made very carefully, usually a pig chicken cattle with fish. There will also be a Japanese and Western exchange. On the same day, we enjoyed a row of dishes and grilled fish, a row of pork chops, the salty, fatty fat of pigs with a perfect white rice with a light rice flavor, which became the perfect golden combination. The grilled fish is very tasty, the soy sauce is salty in the sweetness of the sweetness of the rice with the white rice, and the aroma of the rice makes the fish feel softer and more flavorful! In the perfect replacement of meat, fish, rice three ingredients, multiple tastes, wonderful taste, very delicious, after the end of the skiing day with this meal draw the best end, as if today's soreness and hard work can be released, regain the new tomorrow's battle.
In the meal and after the meal can choose the new flavor beer, Japanese wine, whiskey, dessert after the meal.
This is the best meal I have ever had in the snow field, and I have never forgotten it!
The ski center is genuine and affordable. All aspects of the accommodation are very Japanese and warm, and the boss family is very nice and very enthusiastic.
Downstairs can adjust equipment, laundry, singing, bathing, and facilities are abundant.
Because on the mountain, in the morning you can be the first to use the just-pressed snow trail, carving practice is super stress free, can be used up alone.
At night, you can use up the entire snow trail when the last group of night skiing. The location is just right next to the green line, and novices need not have pressure.
The only fly in the ointment is that you need to take sunrise express up, then take the chairlift down, and then there will be a snowmobile pick-up (winter), but you need to drag your luggage around the snowy hillside in the middle.
Next time I will prepare all the equipment with my back! ! ! !
Very nice, bunk room good for school group or backpacker, with convenient infrastructure include restaurant, vending machine, microwave and public bath, recommend to drive there.
This hotel has the convenience of a newer and modern accommodation but the rooms keep a little bit of the traditional ”ryokan” feel to them, which I found wonderful. Everything was super clean (spotless) and the staff was very very helpful. The view from my room was fantastic. Would definitely stay here again.

GGuest UserThe lady at the counter was so accommodating. Provided everything we needed and was happy to help in any other way. Spoke a little English but used google translate to help. We couldn't use the dining room for dinner, I think that had to be booked in advance. There was only one or two other places open in town at 7.30pm for dinner. So wasn't many options. The room had stains all over the floor, but otherwise the beds were clean, and comfortable being on the harder springy side, and the bathroom was very clean. The onsen was amazing. The room was a good size, and had extra toilets down the hall if we needed them. The Japanese breakfast that was provided was fantastic. We only stayed one night because we were walking the next day just near there otherwise would have stayed in a bigger town, because of the limited outside facilities. But for the price and it was convenient it was good. Would stay again if I had to, but otherwise would go for a bit nicer place.
YYKBJIf I had the opportunity, I would come here every year. Some places get better over time and Silver Otawa is one of them. Run for over 40 years, it is a joy to see 3 generations of the family working side by side to make guests stay here so welcoming. My son and I used it as our base for a week of skiing in the myokogen area. Every day we were ferried (complimentarily) to a different ski field. In addition to accommodation and transport, Silver Otawa also rented us ski equipment (so no need to go anywhere else for that!) and we also enjoyed breakfast and dinner there every day - all for a very reasonable price (their multi course dinner was just 2500 yen per person!). Accommodation was spotless clean and service warm, friendly and super professional. I would have no recommendation to recommend you stay at Silver Otawa. Amazing place and true value for money.
AAlvinI came here during summer for Fuji Rock. In all honesty, it’s alright, the room is clean & the beds were comfortable, aircon works. Don’t expect much from the room, as there’s only 1 power socket in the room, so we had to share. It’s really just for sleeping.
The shower is an open bathroom common in Japan & shared toilet situation, so just take note for travellers who aren’t comfortable for that kind of thing. But the good thing is that the shower area was clean, water is hot & great. Towels are provided although it’s a really small and thin one.
There’s a free large area for parking near the place so that’s good. I’d think it would be great for winter as it’s right next to the gondola, but we didn’t experience that.

KKatieKeiko was a lovely host. She was super friendly and welcoming to the area. She was available for any questions we had and was also able to provide a freshly cooked breakfast/dinner at a very small cost. There was free parking behind the accommodation which was great as we had our own entry/exit after hours.
The room was spacious, but while the heating wasn't very strong, the bedding was extremely warm and comfortable.
Would be more than happy to stay here again any time we're in the area!
SSamuel JasonI really enjoyed my stay! The host was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The place is about a 15-minute drive from the city center, so it’s not right in the middle of things, but the amazing view totally makes up for it. It’s such a nice spot to chill and take in the scenery. Plus, the WiFi was really fast, which was a big win for me. Would definitely stay here again!

JJINGA 120-year-old shop with 150-year-old bonsai-like old trees in the backyard~ The condition of the house can be imagined. The floor will creak and creak. If you sleep lightly, you should go to a big hotel, but if you die of sleep, maybe I won’t mind ´∀`, but the degree of satisfaction varies from person to person and will not be influenced by the accommodation~
The toilet is clean and tidy with an electric toilet lid, which should be newly renovated. The toilets and bathrooms are shared. The boss is very nice and talkative. Behind the house is Lake Kamo. He also took us to feed the seagulls and swans. Those who need a car will drive them to the car rental office. It's a 7 or 8 minute walk from Ryotsu Port. It's easy to find.
In a tatami room, there are two-layer mattresses for sleeping. Sometimes the quilt will be delivered later to help the guests make the bed. If the room is large, it may be put in advance.
GGuest UserVery near to Nakazato Yuzawa station.
Very friendly lady boss and everything is good.
Limited food choice while there is a Thai restaurant nearby and a FamilyMart which require farther walk.
Will recommend to those intending to do winter activity at Nakazato Ski resort.
