Anda Venice Hostel

9,2/10
Great

Best hostel I’ve stayed at. Super comfy beds and large space. Everything was great! Curtains would’ve been nice. Laundry was good but 2 of the dryers were broken so it took a few hours to do my laundry cos there were a lot of people waiting. But it was only €4 for wash then €4 for dry! They had great social events so it was easy to meet people + to pop in and out of the laundry room while you’re waiting. Location was right by the station. Would definitely stay again!!! The tiny “free pasta” portionswith a drink is a bit silly, I tried to order a water/ juice/ tea and the bartender was like that is not a drink… (which it arguably is)

A&O Venezia is located ~10 minutes from the train station and also ~5 minutes from the bus stop which takes you to the main island. Large building with a large working space and bar and offers free baggage storage which is nice of them. The bed is comfortable and big and the room is clean with air-con. The bed also has a small rack to place items and has both a charger and wall plug. However, the built-in charger seems out of date as it doesnt seem to have tje voltage to charge smartphones. So the wall plug is the only charging appliance. The toilet is clean and the shower comes with body wash + shampoo. However, it seems that there is a leak somewhere for the flooring. The whole toilet becomes wet after a shower and there is also a slight unpleasant smell.

This is a really lovely little hotel. It's small but perfectly formed, and the reception is just down the road at another hotel. It's the perfect place for a short stay of one or two nights, especially since it's really close to the train station. We were very grateful that they let us in at 1am. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the staff were helpful. The breakfasts are really good too, especially when you consider the Italian norm of just espresso and croissants.

Hotel Bel Sito Peschiera

Great

My stay at Hotel bel sito was absolutely perfect. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself is very clean, comfortable, and welcoming, making it an ideal place to relax after a day of exploring. One of the biggest highlights is the location. It is situated in Peschiera del Garda, which is already a beautiful destination, and the hotel is positioned in a way that makes everything incredibly convenient. A Penny Market is just nearby, which made it easy to grab anything I needed quickly. Even better, the Peschiera del Garda railway station is very close, making travel and day trips simple and stress-free. The hotel is also just a short distance from Lake Garda, which was one of my favorite parts of the stay. Being able to reach the lake so easily added a lot to the overall experience. Everything I needed—shops, transport, and beautiful scenery—was within easy reach. Another standout feature was the breakfast. It was excellent, with a great variety of options and very good quality. I genuinely looked forward to it every morning. Overall, this hotel offered everything I was looking for: comfort, convenience, and a great location. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Pensione Seguso

I had a very enjoyable stay at Pensione Seguso. The building is full of charm, with a traditional room that felt authentic and suited Venice perfectly. The staff were welcoming throughout my stay, and the location is excellent. It is easy to reach from Venice Santa Lucia station by vaporetto, and from the hotel it is no more than about 20 minutes on foot to most of Venice’s main sights. The only disappointment was the room temperature on arrival. The windows had been left open on a day when the outside temperature was over 30°C, and the room itself was 29.5°C. I closed the windows immediately and turned on the air conditioning, but it still took almost a full day for the room to cool to a comfortable temperature. Opening the windows is not an effective way to cool a room when the outside air is hotter than the desired indoor temperature. I specifically booked a hotel with air conditioning because I do not sleep well in warm rooms, so this was frustrating after a long day of travelling. Overall, I would happily recommend Pensione Seguso for its character, location and friendly service. I would simply suggest ensuring rooms are kept cool with the air conditioning before guests arrive during periods of hot weather.

To sum it up, considering the price, I'm quite satisfied. I stayed for two nights during the Venice Carnival. It's about a 5-minute walk on flat cobblestones from the waterbus stop. If you're going to Marco Polo Airport, be aware that you'll need to cross a bridge with stairs, and it takes about 15 minutes in total, so it might be tricky if you have a lot of luggage. We actually fell victim to a scam where someone unilaterally 'helped' us with our bags and then demanded money... There's no elevator, but the staff kindly help with luggage. The staff members were always friendly. The room was cleaned daily; the sheets were tidied rather than changed. There was a heater next to the toilet and by the window, which was great for drying hand-washed items. The room's cleanliness was average, with no noticeable dirt. Amenities included a single bar of soap, and the hairdryer had good power. It felt like a typical two-star hotel. Regarding breakfast (I'm not sure if it's included for everyone?), I've seen some negative reviews, but considering the accommodation cost, it was excellent. There were several types of delicious bread (toast available) and various jams. What impressed me most was the availability of individually packed olive oil and salts with different salinity levels. Additionally, there was ham, scrambled eggs, several kinds of juice and coffee, cereals, and multiple desserts. The breakfast area always had staff present, clearing tables and replenishing food, keeping it very clean. They even kindly showed me how to use the drink machine.

Ostello di Vicenza

7,4/10

From the outside, the hostel looks very charming — it’s a beautiful villa surrounded by flowers. Inside, however, it feels like a fairly standard hostel. The room was extremely hot, and there was only one fan available, which went to whoever claimed it first. The upper bunk had no safety rail, so there is a real risk of falling out during the night. Instead of a proper power outlet by the bed, there was only an extension adapter located below, meaning you have to leave your phone or other valuable devices out of sight while charging. There is only one toilet per room, and it seemed that most guests were assigned to the same dorm. As a result, there was always a queue for our bathroom while the bathrooms in other rooms remained unused. Finally, the “breakfast included” option was quite misleading. It consisted of coffee and a couple of dry biscuits. Had I known that this was the breakfast offered, I would have preferred to book a different hostel without breakfast included.
