If you are looking for a unique experience, this is definitely the place to stay. One of the highlights of our trip to Pingyao was the host. They were incredibly kind, messaged us before we arrived in Pingyao, and even offered a free pickup service. They made sure we did not have to wait at the railway station. Their communication was always excellent, and they were very transparent with information. On our last day, the host asked for our train tickets so he could arrange the timing to drive us to the station, which was about a 20-minute ride away. Before we left, they even gave us homemade vinegar as a gift. It was such a lovely experience, and we felt so warmly welcomed throughout our stay. There are no words to describe how happy we were during our time here.

A truly authentic ancient residential building! The host is incredibly welcoming, providing guests with a tourist map and helping to plan itineraries. They even offer vouchers for renowned restaurants (after a bad experience at a small eatery, I definitely trusted the host's recommendations). Any issues with room service are addressed promptly. Highly recommended!

I usually never leave a review, but I wanted to share that the people whom work here are very kind! I arrived in the middle of the night and they suggested to pick me up from the trainstation. Upon arrival I received several free items (toothbrush, flipflops, sleeping mask etc). There are clean towels that you can use, soap/shampoo is also present. The room was very clean and the public area is very big. I was travelling alone but I saw that there were many games and options to watch tv etc. When asking for help for which bus to take, they offered to being me to the nearest busstation by car. Overall, a very good experience. Thank you for the kindness and all the help!

Guangwo Youth Hostel is great! The cleanliness, bedding, and washing areas were all fantastic. It's also not far from Datong Ancient City. I highly recommend everyone give it a try; overall, it's really good.

A beautiful guesthouse, the rooms are beautiful too. Bed is big and comfy, very clean and the bathroom is modern despite how traditional the building is. Also has great heating if desired. The family that runs the guesthouse is so so sweet. Their food is also delicious and a great option for a quick breakfast (the buns are to die for). Excellent location. All in all would definitely come back and recommend this place.

The corridor is clean and tidy, there is no trace of mess, and there are some green plants, which adds a lot of vitality. The room I lived in surprised me even more. The space is spacious and bright, and the layout is very warm. The bed is moderately soft and hard, the quilt and pillows are super comfortable, sleeping on it is like trapped in the clouds, I sleep very well every night. The lighting in the room is also very good, the sun shines on the bed through the window during the day, and the mood becomes particularly comfortable. And the hygiene of the room is very good, all corners are spotless, and there is no old feeling of living for a long time. The bathroom is also very clean, the quality of toiletries is also good, and it is particularly safe to use. In addition to the environment, the boss's service has nothing to say. From the moment we arrived at the store, the boss greeted us warmly, helped with the luggage, and also introduced us to the hotel's facilities and surrounding attractions and gourmet restaurants in detail. During our stay, the boss always took the initiative to ask our needs, and any problems could be solved for us as soon as possible. One day we came back late, and the boss also prepared hot soup for us intimately, so that we felt the warmth of home during the tired journey. We stayed in a clean modern apartment in a high-rise building. Everything worked as expected. We had a good view towards the south suburban area of the city, but just outside the apartment next to the elevators, we could get a good view on the city center — especially nice at night when the city is lit up. The staff at the reception (located in a restaurant just outside the apartment building) was kind and helpful not only with managing the reservation itself but also helping contact a tourist attraction. We had dinner at the restaurant where the reception is, and can recommend that too, both for great local taste and very cheap prices.

We arrived at the newly opened hotel very late. Miss sister opened the room for us and gave us a free late check-out. The price is really super super high. I slept very comfortably all night. The bed and quilt are new and soft. I will stay here next time!
