Unfortunately, our overall experience at St Ives Bay Hotel was below average as there were several issues that made our stay little underwhelming. While the location and views were excellent**, particularly if you book a sea view room. The hotel appears to be in need of some improvement, particularly when it comes to its amenities, organisation and management. For example, we were not provided with a service card for our room. We asked for one multiple times, but it was never provided, nor were we clearly informed whether one was unavailable. As a result, we had to repeatedly contact reception for simple requests that could have easily been handled through the usual room service process. Housekeeping was another issue. We had to verbally ask reception to arrange for our beds to be made, as we did not have a service card to request this ourselves. On two occasions, the beds were still not made, and it did not appear that our requests had been properly communicated to the housekeeping team. It was frustrating to have to repeatedly go to reception for small things that should have been dealt with in the first place. There were also inconsistencies between the two rooms we booked. The mattresses were noticeably different in size, with one room having a normal-sized mattress while the other had a considerably smaller one. This was disappointing, particularly given that both rooms were booked at the same hotel. One major positive was the location. The hotel is in a beautiful area, and the sea views are genuinely lovely. I would recommend booking a sea view room if you do decide to stay, as the view was definitely the highlight of our visit. Overall, I feel the hotel has potential because of its fantastic location, but it really needs to improve its organisation, communication between teams, housekeeping service and overall management. The staff were not particularly helpful, and having to repeatedly approach reception for basic requests made the stay more frustrating than it needed to be.

All the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely room overlooking the sea. The room was nicely decorated but the bathroom desperately needs a refurb as the bath panel was damaged and paint was peeling on the door. Plenty of hot water every time we had showers, nice toiletries supplied and best of all, a fan was supplied in the room and due to the heat, this was gratefully used. Had breakfast on both days and the food was reasonable.

Sea view room, several windows with great views, simple breakfast provided (worth about 12 pounds), the food in the hotel restaurant is also good, there are many people every day, there is an Italian buffet on Friday (15.5 super cheap), a lot of dishes, just They are all very filling dishes, so they are cheap. You don’t have to worry about customers eating too much, but it is more than enough to try them all~

It was excellent. A lot of unreasonable bad reviews about this place but the cleaniness was fine, facilities more than adequate, and the staff was friendly. The on-site restaurant was excellent as well, again great staff, and the food produced looked like the chef took it seriously too. i.e. homemade tartar sauce, homemade sweet chilli sauce, fresh battered fish. Good beer selection on draught too.

Really loved that it was so easy to check in , an ideal location with a beautiful breathtaking view , the room was worth the price it was immaculate and had everything we needed , staff were very friendly and accommodating . The reception staff member even took our bags to look after for a few hours after we checked out to avoid us having to lug them about . Compliments to the staff

Surf Festival :- TV was down for 2 days ; aerial booster for several hotel TV' S was damaged by Boardmasters overload ! 50,000 people! Breakfast was a separate payment for 2 weeks ! A nuisance. It was on 2 bus routes ; to the station ; IE on the main road or in the hotel sideroad. I liked the zoo laid back meerkats , with paws up , eyes closed! Sun Bathing! There are family visits IE zoo, aquarium , beaches, and body board surfing.etc. You can board a Newquay bus for your hotel trips. IE Padstow , or Truro, just a few stops, saves walking. A grade 3 basic hotel but adequate.

This was a wonderful hotel. I highly recommend ordering breakfast. The owner and hostess were wonderful, and the room was so clean I slept like a log. I'd love to come back with my family next time. If you're looking to experience a British B&B, definitely book here. I give it a 10 out of 10. It's a great value for the price and cleanliness compared to other places. Personally, I thought it was incredibly clean. And because the hotel is small, there were a lot of families and people with a sense of community. You can't go without making a reservation in advance. There's a beach near the hotel, and there's a Mexican Inn for dining, but I can't recommend it. It's probably better to ask the hostess. There's also a small pub on site, so you can have a drink in the evening. Because they're British, they're not overly friendly, but they have a comfortable, friendly demeanor. I hope they continue to run this hotel for a long, healthy life. ❤️

A really great stay on top of Tregenna hill overlooking St Ives. The hotel has multiple buildings and lots of facilities. Great for lovely walks with views and sitting and watching the ocean. We stayed in Lowarth which is a self-contained building with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and an upstairs kitchen and living area. It was really quiet and comfortable!

The boss is very nice, amiable, enthusiastic, hygienic and very clean. The boss also cooks a hearty breakfast and eats it. The room is big and the bed is very comfortable. The pillows and quilt covers are brand new! Will book this again next time!

Our room is not in the main building. We have to walk upstair to a first floor high extension building. My booking hasn't mentioned this. It just like a B&B room, but this is a 3 stars hotel. If I know before hand, I will not book this hotel.
