We booked to stay at the Talbot as we were attending a function there. We appreciated the building is listed so as expected it's a little tired looking. The room we stayed in no.214, unfortunately smelt of drains so rather unpleasant. The hotel was fully booked so there was no chance of changing rooms. The safe was locked shut when we arrived, something I would have thought the staff getting the rooms ready would have had on their check list to ensure all was ok. It was just a little inconvenient to have to go & find a member of staff with a master key to rectify. The evening of the function we had attended we intended on having a light meal of pizza in the bar but were told they weren't taking any more orders due to staffing numbers so we were really disappointed as we'd had a few drinks so couldn't drive elsewhere. Breakfast was OK although pricy if it hadn't been included in the room rate. Also items mentioned on the breakfast menu weren't available which was disappointing eg French toast which is something quite basic! Probably wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

The conference facilities and rooms are very nice. The breakfast was gorgeous. Special mentions to Laura who was our concierge for my meeting on Thu 18th Oct and then happened to also serve me breakfast on Fri morning. What a fantastic individual, very attentive and friendly. The hotel location is very good, in the center of the town, there is a station and a supermarket downstairs, about six minutes walk from the train station. The room was clean, the double bed was small. There is a kettle in the room, but no hair dryer, no hair dryer, no hair dryer (> ﹏ <). I was out of luck. The bathroom door was broken. I almost shut myself in and couldn't get out. Fortunately, my mother rescued me (´; ︵; `)

Quite frankly, by day 2 we had fallen in love with the place, all staff on all sections were brilliant. All facilities were clean, well maintained and up to spec. Indoor pool, outdoor pool, 2 saunas, ice plunge pool, tennis courts, orchard and children's play area. There is also archery, bike hire and even boat hire so you can have a little trip on the river. We didn't do breakfast but there is a lovely little coffee bar with pastries and for the evening meal the main restaurant operates a buffet style with about 30 options so you could try a little bit of everything. The quality of the food was also very good. Finally I'll just mention that my partner enjoyed a couple of treatments at the spa and said her experience was superb. Thanks also to trip.com for offering an excellent room rate.

After visiting Edinburgh, I went back to Surrey and stayed at this hotel, because I booked in the country and wanted to stay one more night, but there was no room. It is a 15-minute walk from the University of Surrey and close to Risari Railway Station Along the way, you can enjoy the English country style, quiet environment and fresh air. Breakfast is subject to additional charges.

It is very convenient to get to the train station, there is a bus station opposite, quiet and quiet, and the room is clean and relatively new. It was only twelve in the morning, but the jamal at the front desk was very service-minded. I checked the existing rooms to check in, which made me check in early. Very good experience. The rooms are cost-effective and there are supermarkets and small shops in the surrounding area.

I have been staying here for over 3 weeks with work and I couldn't be happier with the staff, they are helpful, Friendly and attentive. Fiona and Sammy deserve recognition from a truly amazing team. My partner and I visited this hotel for a spa day as it was his birthday. It really was a day to remember! We turned up at midday after a leisurely morning, the spa reception staff were really friendly and answered all my questions with a smile. We were given our robes, slippers and towels and shown around the spa. We were given a key card and instructions on how to use it and off we went! We found a lounger outside, there were plenty available and sat in the sun, we then decided to take a dip in the outside hydro pool which was lovely and warm. Following that we decided to take a swim in the pool and dry off in the sun. We had access to tea, coffee and ice water whenever we needed. At 2pm we had the most amazing afternoon tea which was the perfect amount for the two of us. After that we went to use the spa facilities, we sat in the aroma steam room, followed my the igloo room and then the experience shower and dried off on the thermal beds. Finally after going to have a snooze in the sun we had our treatments of massage and facial. My therapist was called Kat and honestly she was brilliant, she applied the perfect pressure and got rid of every knot in my back and shoulders, she was informative, super friendly and so good at what she does, she even offered me a booklet wih all the products she used on my face. After that it was time to head home, I rarely write reviews but this one needed a mention, well done to everyone of the spa team, we will definitely be returning!
