Ibis Valparaiso ★★★
"The hotel has an excellent location, just a short walk from the city's most important scenic spot, Jin Yi Jie, and a large supermarket is less than 100 meters away, which is very convenient. The hotel breakfast is plentiful, and the front desk is open 24 hours a day. The rooms are spacious and clean enough, although the facilities are basic. However, they have everything you need, so overall it's a good hotel."
La Casa Piola ★★
"Amazing hostel! The location is quite close to the attractions and bars/restaurants. Receptionists were helpful. It was good to have breakfast in the morning. I personally loved that the shared bathrooms has privacy. They have terraces. Which was also good to spend some time. Special thanks to Alex ❤️"
Hotel Diego de Almagro Valparaíso ★★★
"The location of the hotel is very good. The rooms are very nice and clean. The staff are very friendly. I would like to use it again."
Hotel Winebox Valparaiso ★★★
Casa Puente Hotel Boutique ★★★
"Pros: The art & the view from the terrace. Cons: Never slept so bad in my entire life. No AC, dark dirty room (room #12) The breakfast "buffet" is a joke. No one at the reception when we tried to check out, we waited for 15 minutes, rang the clock and doorbell a number of times. We had to go down to the breakfast room to tell them that we wanted to check out. No elevators. We sent several emails before checking in. No answers. I honestly don't get the good reviews here."
Hotel Casa Higueras ★★★★
"We had 3 nights here and loved Valparaiso. We felt safe at this hotel and the service was excellent. Our standard double room was absolutely fine - we were out all of the days sightseeing. We loved the lounge and restaurant terrace - we had dinner here all 3 nights and lunch one of the days. For two of the dinners they had live music (guitar and saxophone) - fabulous musicians and really added to our enjoyment of the evening. Fantastic view over the city and port from the restaurant terrace and we so enjoyed seeing the sunset with a Pisco Sour in hand, watching the birds swooping by. The pool area looked great (although we didn't use). The staff all very helpful - particularly at reception. Breakfast buffet excellent. Highly recommend."
Casa Violeta Limón ★★
Departamentos Puerto Claro ★★★
Hotel Latitud 33º Sur ★★
"We stayed at Casa Puente Hotel Boutique which was fabulous. An art hotel. I loved Valparaiso though the downtown area is best avoided at night. But the hills Allegra and Concepcion are great and vibrant places to stay. A real art city with a wonderful and rich colonial history. Also recommend Pablo Neruda’s house (now a museum) at the top of town. We spent a brilliant two days here - which is about what I reckon it’s worth."

La Joya Hostel
"This place has great potential but is so bad we left early..The daily need to compete with the staff for the breakfast on offer is not pleasant. You shouldn't have to wait for staff to feed themselves from the breakfast buffet before you can access breakfast you are paying for. The wifi is very poor and constantly drops out We left before our booking was ended after talking to staff several times about the quality and the constant dropping in and out. This place was very noisy with staff yelling across the hostel at each other all day or playing very loud music. There is nothing on offer and staff don't actively let you know about anything other than the long list of rules. Minimal places to eat around area. The bathroom is terrible and the floors could do with a good wash. Not a pleasant stay"
Hotel Terranostra
"A hotel with a good location, spacious rooms, good cleanliness, and very good service is a great option for accommodation; I would definitely return."
Casa Volante Hostal
"I booked a 7-night stay at this hostel over New Year's for CLP 307,732.00, but my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. I'll admit upfront: I made the mistake of not remembering a small note about their special New Year's cancellation policy when I booked months ago. However, when I canceled my reservation well in advance, I received no warning, pop-up, or reminder that I was forfeiting the entire payment. This oversight could have been prevented with better communication, but instead, I was left with no booking and no money. I reached out to the hostel, explained the situation, and made every effort to come to a fair agreement. I even requested to have my original booking reinstated, as I've already paid in full and wasn't asking for anything extra. Despite my polite requests, they flat-out refused to help in any way. Their response made it clear that they don't care about their guests or the fact that this is a significant amount of money for most people. Mistakes happen, and I was more than willing to meet them halfway, but their complete lack of empathy or willingness to find a fair resolution was appalling. If you value fair treatment and customer service, avoid this hostel at all costs. They'll take your money without a second thought, show no respect for the effort you've made to resolve an issue, and leave you high and dry. One star is generous—I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone."
Ayca la Flora Hotel Boutique
"We had a really nice stay. After 5 weeks around South America, this hotel was definitely the best we have stayed at. The staff were nice and always ready to help. The surroundings and the room were incredibly beautiful and complete."
Casa Fibonacci
Hotel Brighton
"We loved! well-served friendly, cosy room with everything working perfectly, good breakfast, and everything very clean ❤️"
Fortunata Chacana Guest House
"This is a large, 5 bedroomed guest house that will take some beating. It has been tastefully renovated by the owner in a traditional style. The beds are old fashioned wooden head and footboarded and very comfortable. The owner took great pains to welcome us with recommendations about the best places to visit in the city and good restaurants. breakfast was lovely and the staff could not have been nicer with a bonus of reasonably good english. If I ever return to Valperaiso, this is where I will head to"
Hotel Ecomusic
"The hotel is a simple, clean, well located hotel and very affordable price. The hotel is not offering breakfast and has no attention to a chain hotel, but it doesn't matter: comfortable beds, bad bathroom, good wave receptionist and Bob Marley photos."
Casa Galos Hotel & Lofts
"Clean and tidy, the reception is very enthusiastic! Breakfast is not bad!"
Hotel Casa Somerscales
"Wonderful welcome from the proprietor, who gave us a great orientation to Valparaiso and couldn’t do too much for us and recommended excellent restaurante. Location was fantastic within walking distance of everything but in a safe part of town. The breakfast was delicious and our room spacious and with a wonderful view. The only challenge was we didn’t get much sleep as there was no air conditioning so we kept the windows open which meant we were awakened by the dogs of Valparaiso who bark regularaly throughout the night."
Hotel Garden
Fauna Hotel
"I like the location of this hotel and the views from the room; however the first room I was given the security safe was broken and was shut, it was locate directly beneath the bed. The reception appeared to know this, when I went back to raise a concern, but still seemed to think that would be acceptable; when I advise them it was not, they did offer me room a floor below with safe that worked and the seas fine. Wifi in the hotel is not great a food in the restaurant was OK, but a little expensive compared to other nearby restaurants."
