"I was looking for a place to stay last minute and stumbled upon this hotel. It seems like an older establishment that's been renovated, but it retained the charm of a long-standing inn. The hot spring baths, which alternate between men and women, offered great views and were very satisfying, fitting for a traditional hot spring inn. However, I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast buffet; if you went later, some items weren't refilled once they ran out."

"This lodging exceeded my expectations. The entire building seems to have been carefully designed and thought out. It's thoroughly organized and clean, and even simple tools like a single flower or leaf convey a certain charm. There are quite a few stink bugs, but they take care of them by putting medicine on the windows, and if you call they'll take care of it, so even people who can't stand bugs should be fine. It's not expensive, so it's good value for money. It's close to Oze, making it a convenient place to stay at the end of a walking tour of Oze. However, be aware that nearby restaurants are far away and close early."

"Because there are only a few rooms, the number of guests is inevitably smaller than at other inns, giving the impression of a more relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are stylish with a modern Japanese feel. Each room has a hot spring, but there are also two private hot springs, so you can enjoy yours to the fullest without other people coming in while you are using them. The food was also delicious. The portions were a little too much for our small appetite, but... The next day, they were able to drop us off right in front of Mt. Tanigawa, which was very helpful!"

"In front of me is the Fujiwara Ski Resort Hotel. I imagined it must have been bustling with the ski resort boom from the Showa era to the bubble era. The facilities are old and have a Showa feel, and the rooms creak in places, but they are clean and no longer bother me. I chose Tsukishizuku no Yu for a plan that allows you to use the private open-air bath for free for 40 minutes, and the artificial waterfall is well made and wonderful. I went up to the middle of the slope in a slightly out-of-place yukata (apparently they no longer provide car transportation), and the open-air bath is like an open-air bath with only a simple changing area. The warm water in the nature is so pleasant that I wanted to soak in it for as long as I wanted. The meal was an elaborate kaiseki meal with plenty of ingredients from Joshu. For dinner, we had Joshu beef sukiyaki, Joshu pork teppanyaki, and other dishes that were delicious and filled me up. For breakfast, the tofu made from soy milk was delicious. I wish there was a hot spring* if possible. All the staff were young, kind, and nice. Thank you for booking a shuttle to Minakami Station and taking into consideration the route and time to the station for me on the way back. It was very helpful. I was able to relax both physically and mentally and it was a great memory. I would like to come back again."

"Wow this place is INCREDIBLE I have no idea how it doesn't have SO many more reviews. This ryokan has literally the sweetest people, absolutely beautiful onsens, and YUMMY food. The room itself is very spacious and has it's own private view into a garden, and it has it's own A/C unit you can use - it's also very clean and included a full set of teas and snacks. The shared outdoor and indoor onsens are absolutely gorgeous, and overlook mountains in the distance. I went to 10+ onsens in Japan and this was the best hands down - beautiful with those mountain views, and extremely clean. The food was also so delicious, and I felt stuffed after every breakfast and dinner. I super highly recommend this place!"

"This is the best stay I’ve ever stayed It’s a family run pension with two super friendly golden retrievers, the whole house is newly built, extremely clean, and decorated with good taste The dinner and breakfast are western- Japanese fusion, everything is homemade, definitely worth trying There is a nice and clean private onsen, or you can take a bus to have a day trip to other bigger onsen Minakami itself is a countryside area, and the pension is right next to the bus station There is literally nothing around the stay, so you need to get everything you need in Minakami station, but I think it’s a characteristic rather than disadvantage"
