The hotel is easy to access, just off the M5, which made it a convenient base for exploring Somerset or stopping over during a longer journey. The room was clean and quiet, with everything I needed — a comfy bed, a good shower, and a desk area. Wi-Fi worked well, and I appreciated the tea/coffee station. While the decor is slightly dated in some areas, everything was well-maintained. Staff were friendly, helpful, and professional from check-in to check-out. The breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold options, and the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere in the evening too."

"We greatly appreciated being able to take our dog with us on our trip. Our spacious room was on the ground floor and despite a very hot day the room was cool on arrival and and spotlessly clean throughout, perfect!. The bed was very comfortable and all the room equipment worked perfectly ,TV Bathroom shower, fan etc . We stayed two nights and heard very little background noise during our stay. Thank you to all at Travelodge Taunton."

"Although staff were very friendly and welcoming. The second bed was not made up, the room was dirty - stains up the wall in several places , stains on the sink, toothbrush marks around the sink. The room was very cold and a dirty, dusty electric heater had been put in the room which clearly said “do not remove from reception”. The room was very loud due to a motor which went off regularly. We were there the night before my daughter had an exam and she got a terrible night of sleep due to being too cold and the noises from the rooms next door (staff area?)."

"I knew we were staying in an old farmhouse, but hadn't realised how built up it was approaching the property. However, once inside the grounds, it was like a little haven. An utterly charming old building, beams, nooks and crannies, old chimney breasts peeping out and very friendly hosts. Karen and Chris made everything so easy and their breakfasts were brilliant. We had the Orchard Room, and it felt like our own apartment with the lobby area. Quiet and peaceful, lovely beds, tea and coffee facilities, free and safe parking. Perfect for our short stay."

"Lovely hotel in the town centre of Taunton. Great little bar at the hotel. They serve à la carte breakfast for an extra cost. Room was spotless very clean and very spacious. So handy right in the town also with all the shops, will be back."

"I don’t know where to start. From the moment we walked in the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our server, Anya, was lovely and explained the carvery to us and the options we had. Our drinks were with us before we knew it and the food, just wow! We tried all three meats on the menu and to say the beef was perfectly cooked is an understatement, it was melt in the mouth. The chef was so lovely too, I wish we had got his name, young man with dark hair. My dad asked how he cooked the beef so beautifully and he took the time to tell him, really appreciated the effort as my Dad is 86 and loves a chat. The vegetables were fantastic and such a great selection, best parsnips I have ever had! I’m a very fussy eater and I ate most of mine, I only stopped as I was so full! I also saw our server deal with a very upset little girl next to us and she calmed her down with no effort and made her happy, so lovely to see as I k ow staff were busy with it being Easter Sunday! Overall, amazing experience, wonderful staff and beautiful food. Thank you for a lovely meal and feel good atmosphere."

"A comfortable, tastefully decorated room. The staff were polite and friendly. The food was delicious and of an exceptionally high standard. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast (sourdough and smashed avocado etc) which was fresh and generous. I will definitely stay again when in the area."

We arrived very late due to traffic delays but kept in touch with Liz by text who was more than accommodating and recommended a local pub to eat en route. A beautifully appointed room, easy parking and a fabulous breakfast. A great stopover before our ongoing journey to Cornwall. Thank you Liz!"
