3-Star Hotels in Miyakojima

We didn't receive the password for check-in and it took us a while to figure it out, but the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a clean hotel and we all enjoyed our stay. While there aren't many public facilities, it's extremely comfortable and conveniently located.

I'll probably never forget that night. I'm a 20-year-old girl, and this was my first solo trip. It was the off-season when I went, and although I booked a dorm room, I was the only one there. The place was run by a mother and her two daughters. The staff at check-in were very welcoming. It just so happened that it was a rare sunny day, and the staff invited me to go stargazing with them that evening. That night, the five of us (plus a Korean guy who was also solo) went together. We drove to a very secluded spot on the island. It was the first time I'd ever seen so many stars; the entire sky was filled with them, densely packed. I was so amazed, it felt like a dream. I grew up in a city in Jiangsu and had never seen so many stars before, nor did I know fireflies could fly so high. I felt incredibly happy and lucky. I regret not being able to say a proper goodbye when I left. (Actually, the hotel was very new and clean. I feel the seller's photos don't do it justice… there was no odor, and the shared bathrooms and showers were very clean. It's very close to the beach; a beautiful beach is just a ten-minute walk away.)

This newly built hotel is spacious with excellent facilities. It's very close to the airport, and you can easily walk to Don Quijote and MaxValu nearby. The reception offers complimentary use of a coffee machine and various amenities. They really have everything you need, almost to the point where you could arrive empty-handed – it was fantastic! I appreciated having a kitchen for cooking, and there's even a washing machine with a drying function. The sink area is very wide, and the separated bathroom has a bathtub and strong water pressure, which was a big plus. The only minor downside was that some areas weren't thoroughly cleaned, so it would be perfect if that could be improved. If I visit Miyakojima again, I'd definitely want to stay here.

The hotel is in a good location to explore several regions of the island. Coffee is great and the breakfast options were worth it. The room is spacious and very quiet. The team was friendly and did everything they could to make us feel comfortable. The car we rented broke and they even helped us get the car working again. Great experience in Miyakojima! Location: The hotel is located in the center of the city, which is super convenient as a starting point to anywhere of the island: from here, the taxi to any direction is within 30 minutes at a cost of less than 3,000 yen. There is a FamilyMart across the road and you can get anything needed easily. And there are a lot of good dining places in the neighborhood. I made no reservation to any restaurant but just take a short walk randomly to the nearby restaurant every day and always find delicious food (there is one Japanese-style wagyu BBQ across the street which is super good!). Room: The room is cozy and spacious. You won’t feel it too narrow to open your suitcase as hotels in Japan elsewhere. The bed is comfortable. Facilities: There is a microwave in each floor, which is useful especially you need to leave early in the morning and have no time for breakfast. And there are also washing machines and dryers on the 1st floor, which is a must-have if you have activities in the sea. If there is any improvement I must say, that is the light in the room is too dim and it is not easy to do makeups.

I used it for diving. The washing machine was helpful, but I wish there was a facility to dry on the veranda.

We stayed here for two nights out of the three nights we stayed in Miyakojima. All the hotels had washing machines in the rooms, so this may be the standard in Miyakojima, but it was helpful to have a washing machine in the room and a gas dryer on a different floor, although it was shared. We were going to go into the ocean, so there was a huge difference between going home without being able to do laundry and going home without doing it. We were given shaved ice as a welcome gift, and my daughter was happy. The hotel was right in the middle of the downtown area, so we found some delicious restaurants right away. If it wasn't a resort hotel, this was enough for our family. There were three beds, so we were able to sleep comfortably.

Perhaps because many divers stay here, each floor has a terrace where you can wash and dry your diving suits. Long fins can also be washed and dried here, which is convenient. Each room has a washing machine and refrigerator. The central location makes it convenient for going out for dinner at night.

The bathroom and sink area were separate, so it wasn't inconvenient even when used by a family. Amenities were well-provided, and the bathtub was great for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. In particular, the fully equipped kitchen allowed for simple cooking and breakfast preparation, and the presence of a washing machine made it very convenient for a long-term stay. Being able to wash swimwear or clothes immediately during the trip was a major advantage. The refrigerator, microwave, and tableware were neatly organized, making it feel as comfortable as a small apartment. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation that feels ”as comfortable as home.”

Having stayed in both a Japanese-style room without a private bathroom and a new wing room with a private bathroom, I felt there wasn't much difference. Going to the public bath for washing up was actually quite convenient. Like I said, lower your expectations.
