The door is Nanchang Beach, and you can also go to the sea to fishermen's house. An excellent stay on Shengshan Island. Before we even arrived, the owner already contacted us on WeChat with information about our stay and gave us very comprehensive tips for our stay. The hotel is very conveniently located, next to the boat port, the main entry onto Shengshan, and it is just across it. The owner was waiting for us when we arrived off the boat and helped us get our luggage. They have a very convenient luggage lift which means that you don't have to lug anything up the stairs. The hotel feels clean, luxurious, comfy and homely at the same time. It is a family run hotel and the reception is very warm. Our room was very clean and everything that was needed was provided. The view was spectacular from our room (image provided). The bed was very comfy and the lounger was perfect for watching the sea within the comfort of your room. The pool downstairs is great to cool off after a day out exploring. The breakfast provided was very nice and simple, some youtiao (Chinese fried dough, similar to churros), soy milk and sweet and savoury buns. All in all an excellent experience, and we thank the hosts for everything.

Shengshan is definitely not an easy place to get to, but staying at Woqu honestly made it so worth it! It’s very guesthouse style, so hosts have a full menu that they can cook for you if you don’t want to go into town for the restaurants. They were all so warm and welcoming, even though my Chinese isn’t very good. Even though they had a larger group of 21 staying at the same time as me, they still checked in on me to make sure that I was comfortable and that I could still have my privacy. They also offered me the number of a driver who was very readily available to take me wherever I wanted. The room was beautiful, with a wonderful view of the ocean. It would be really romantic for a couples’ getaway. I hope that more people come to Shengshan and Gouqi, even for just a day, just so they can experience some of the island-style warmth and hospitality that Woqu had to offer. If the weather is hot, you can bring children to play in the water.

The guesthouse is tucked away in a quiet corner of the countryside, so peaceful at night you can hear insects chirping and frogs croaking.
