"There was a leak in the roof, it rained through. glad we didn't store any electronics on that spot. The electricity on one of the walls didn't work, leaving only one usable socket. The bed was as hard as a wooden plank. There is a rooster crying non-stop from 4am to 6am, of course they cannot do much about that. But then the housekeeping staff started cleaning all the rooms in our surrounding from 7am onwards, moving heavy furniture and screeching it over the tiles very loudly for two hours. Not a lot of rest was had. All of these things would be acceptable, if it was at least a cheap place. But for this price range, I expected more. Would not recommend!"

"When driving to Shiping Ancient Town, there's free parking available. The hotel room faces the Yunnan Meter-Gauge Shiping Station, offering a nice environment and good cleanliness. The front desk service was excellent. There are many delicious food options within the ancient town, and visiting the Laihe Pavilion and Confucius Temple is also very interesting. I originally booked for two nights but had to check out early due to unforeseen circumstances. Here are some downsides: ① There's no breakfast, and if you wake up early, there are no places to eat nearby (Yunnan locals tend to wake up late). ② The electrical outlets in the room are older flat-pin types, which can't accommodate modern safe small appliances like two-pin cylindrical razors, massage guns, or water flossers."
