Traveling to Shanghai, staying at the InterContinental Jing'an is definitely the right choice! My experience this time was absolutely fantastic! The hotel is located in the heart of Jing'an District, right next to Shanghai Railway Station, surrounded by 5 metro lines, making it super convenient to get to West Nanjing Road, Jing'an Temple, and The Bund.
From check-in at the front desk, I felt nothing but professionalism and warmth. They were incredibly thoughtful, proactively arranging a high-floor room with an absolutely stunning view. The front desk staff always had a smile, patiently answering all my questions. The room was spacious and bright, the bedding was soft and comfortable for a great night's sleep, and the separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom were a very thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options; I ate there for three days and didn't get bored. The indoor pool on the sixth floor has a 25-meter lap lane, and the gym is well-equipped.
From check-in to check-out, the entire stay was delightful. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai! Highly recommended!

For those who are in town for meetings and exhibitions near Hongqiao, this hotel is ideally situated and your must go place. What we loved was the uber comfortable bed, good bedroom size and layout of the room. Despite its distance from the usual shopping areas, dining and amenities is not a problem with ******* as they have a separate holding areas for the delivery team to place your orders… they were very efficient and careful when collecting off my Taobao orders on my behalf !
For those who wish to visit downtown (eg to the bund) for a look, travelling could be a little inconvenient as it takes approximately 40mins by cab or 30mins by trains
Overall - a great stay at the Hotel.
Taking advantage of the good weather this weekend, I brought my parents for a nostalgic trip to see old mansions. We chose to stay at the InterContinental Ruijin Hotel this time. The hotel's location is superb, right in the heart of the Huaihai Road commercial area, and it's a short walk to Sinan Mansions, Fuxing Park, and Tianzifang. As soon as we entered the lobby, we were captivated by the giant crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. It looked even more beautiful when lit up at night. The InterContinental's service was excellent as always, and we checked in very quickly.
We booked a two-bedroom family suite in the main building, which features two bedrooms, a living room, and three bathrooms. The master bedroom has a 1.9-meter king-size bed, the second bedroom has two 1.35-meter double beds, and the living room has a two-seater sofa and a single armchair. The room included four executive lounge privileges, so after dropping off our luggage, we headed straight to the executive lounge for afternoon tea. The executive lounge also has that 'old money' vibe, perfect for photos. For dinner, we could either dine in the executive lounge or pay an additional 99 RMB to eat at 'Lounge 99' Western Restaurant. We opted for the latter as it offered more variety, including complimentary langoustine and West Lake vinegar fish (yellow croaker), making it quite a good deal.
After afternoon tea, we took a stroll through the hotel garden. It was lush and green, and the spring breeze blowing through the leaves felt especially gentle. The sun also turned warm, and the green leaves cradled delicate, dew-kissed flowers. In the gentle breeze, the flowers swayed softly, looking somewhat shy.

I came for a last-minute trip and chose the InterContinental, which was close to my destination. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to an open-plan suite.
- **Service**: Warm and welcoming. I arrived in the early hours, and the concierge was still very friendly, helping me check in and guiding me all the way to the elevator. The housekeeping staff always greeted me with a smile. The reception at the 24th-floor printing area was also very polite.
- **Environment**: The hotel has been open for some years, and the furniture and decor retain a classic 'Shanghai style' – vintage but not outdated. It's a refreshing change from the modern designs of many hotels today, offering a unique charm. (Though the bedside switches could use an update).
- **Breakfast**: Quite abundant, with a standard spread, plus local Shanghai-style mini wontons. The freshly made Western scrambled eggs were delicious, and you could pair them with baked beans and sausages to make a full English breakfast.

The main advantages are the river view and the large garden. The price is very reasonable for a five-star hotel with a prime river view, and the breakfast quality is consistently good. However, there are notable drawbacks: the building is old, and the room's fixtures and electrical outlets are outdated for current needs. It's far from the subway, and there are limited dining options nearby. This hotel is best suited for guests who drive, don't mind older decor, and primarily want to relax and enjoy the river view.

I want to start my review from a positive things:
1. beautiful view
2. the best laser-show i’ve ever seen.
3. The room is good, well- equipped, clean and looks great!
4. Staff is friendly and ready to help in a short time.
Areas for improvement:
1. Pool. You should stop operating it asap: There’re absolutely unsanitary conditions, the locker room reeks of urine, some kinds of unknown hairs is everywhere around the locker room, even in walls and doors, mold, rust, and broken furniture - that all you can meet in the pool. The pool is small, old, and only 1.2m deep. The pool is not met even minimal expectations from an InterContinental hotel.
2. Breakfast: generally - ok, for a 4 stars hotel.
3. Dirty windows in elevators spoil the beautiful view, I think you could clean in outside using a cleaner robots.
My overall experience at InterContinental Shanghai Dishui Lake was great. Both the environment and service were quite impressive, making it a highly recommended lake view resort hotel.
**Environment and Scenery**
The hotel is located on the South Island of Dishui Lake, surrounded by the lake and green spaces. The scenery is pleasant, and the environment is quiet and beautiful. From the room balcony or public areas, the lake view is expansive and delightful. The atmosphere in the morning, evening, and at night is fantastic, perfect for photos and leisurely strolls.
**Facilities and Rooms**
The room size is ample, with a modern and minimalist decor. The cleanliness is generally good, and the bedding is quite comfortable. The hotel's public facilities are comprehensive, with well-maintained gardens and walking paths. Strolling by the lake is very relaxing.
**Service Highlights**
I'd particularly like to commend Tim Bi at the front desk. His service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. During check-in, he meticulously introduced the hotel's facilities, and his attitude was very friendly, leaving an excellent first impression as soon as I arrived.
**Dining Experience**
Both Chinese and Western options are available. The taste and quality are considered above average for hotels in the same category, offering good value for money overall.
In summary, if you're looking for a quiet, well-situated lake view hotel for a getaway near Shanghai, this is a worthy option to consider.
