"I love the ocean and yachts, so I booked an ocean view double room. The harbor view directly in front of the hotel is absolutely stunning. The breakfast buffet area also overlooks the harbor. The facilities might be a bit older, but the room was spacious and very clean. The shower isn't thermostatic, so temperature adjustment can be a little tricky. The quiet location and the evening bar experience all made for memorable moments. Many thanks to all the hotel staff."

All in all, it was a pleasant stay, and I would consider coming back again if I have the chance. I also recommend it to other travelers looking for accommodation."

"The hotel's location is convenient, and the room was spacious, bright, and clean. However, the facilities were a huge disappointment. The elevator was out of order, so I had to carry my luggage up and down the stairs myself. While I could overlook the lack of a TV in the room, the refrigerator was completely broken and didn't cool at all. As for service, since it's self-service, I didn't see any staff. I left a message for the hotel about the broken fridge, but no one replied. It wasn't until check-out that I met a gentleman who spoke Mandarin. I hope the hotel can follow up on these issues if they want to retain repeat customers."

"The room was spacious and very clean. Since it was off-season, the owner gave me a large room on the first floor. They even thoughtfully prepared water, bread, and milk. The owner was incredibly kind. When I first arrived, they told me about places to visit near Otaru. On the first day, I went to a nearby restaurant and had a seafood bowl. Later, I wanted to buy some snacks but didn't know where a supermarket was, so I asked the owner. They actually drove me there! The house is surrounded by many flowers, making for a beautiful environment, and it's super close to the sea. It's also very convenient, just a minute or two walk from the bus stop (bus route 11)."

"Facilities: The hotel is quite old, and while the facilities are in good condition, they aren't exactly modern. Surprisingly, there's a vintage audio system that plays music with a great ambiance from a bygone era. The sound quality also has that classic feel, which I loved. It's definitely worth experiencing this unique charm that other hotels don't offer.
Service: Standard hotel service, but they upgraded my room without me even asking, which was a nice touch!
Transportation: Even though the hotel is on a mountaintop, they offer a shuttle service to the nearest JR station, which is a huge plus. The Otaru Aquarium is just a few steps away, and the dolphin show is fantastic, plus the penguins are adorable.
Scenery: This hotel probably boasts the most unique coastal cliff views in Otaru. It's truly postcard-worthy, and the best part is being able to enjoy it while soaking in the hot spring during the day. The scenery is beautiful and enjoyable. At night, however, you can't see anything.
Hygiene: Standard hotel cleanliness.
Food: I only stayed overnight and didn't try the food."

Cons: Unable to drive directly to the villa due to safety policy. This made loading/unloading luggage very inconvenient. The walk to the carpark required negotiating a slippery gravel slope, which was even more dangerous in low-light conditions. Recommend to improve this with proper stairs or paved pathway."
