Falling Leaves Lodge ★★★★

📍 2 W Ford Young Drive, Cahal Pech Hill, San Ignacio

"This place is really beautiful. The operation is smooth, professional and friendly. The food is delicious, the drinks are good and the view is amazing from the pool to the restaurant deck. The rooms are clean and comfortable. My wife and I had a very nice stay, it would be good for small groups and friends too!"

The Lodge at ChaaCreek
9.8 (61 reviews)

The Lodge at ChaaCreek ★★★★

📍 77 Burns Avenue, San Ignacio

"Chaa Creek truly deserves all the five star reviews here - so I will add my voice to all the praise! My husband and I splurged for the Ix Chel villa for the first three nights, and since I booked last minute we had to switch to a different room the last night. It was all done seamlessly. The Ix Chel villa with the private plunge pool might have been the most luxurious accommodations we have ever stayed in (we have traveled a lot) It was stunning, with floor to ceiling windows facing the rainforest, huge outdoor area with dining table, comfy loungers, plunge pool and the sounds of the river floating up from below. We spent more time than we planned at the villa, because it was so inviting in every way. When you book the Ix Chel villa, you "also enjoy the unobtrusive yet attentive service of a personal butler..." We've not encountered that level of service before, we weren't sure what to expect, but then there was Candy! Oh what a lovely person - she really made our stay at Chaa Creek extra special. She set up romantic dinners for us, greeted us at breakfast each morning, brought us lunch to our villa, arranged tours, helped me procure some things I forgot to bring from home, really whatever we needed. She was so gracious and kind and we really enjoyed her company as well - thank you Candy!! On our last day there we did the day trip to Tikal - incredible and an absolute must in my opinion - when we returned Candy had arranged for all our bags to be moved into our new room so we didn't worry about a thing. Although not as large, the Macal Riverview Suite was beautiful as well, and we did not have a problem sleeping with the multiple fans in the room (Ix Chel does have AC) The grounds at Chaa Creek are beautiful and lovingly maintained, The entire staff is friendly and helpful, we enjoyed the constant sounds and sights of tropical birds, the butterfly house, and amazingly we did not have any issues with biting insects. And the food - Outstanding!! Some of the best food we have encountered while traveling (and we are from NYC and DC to boot!) I really don't have a single negative thing to say about Chaa Creek- just highly recommend!"

Maya Bella Downtown Hotel
8.9 (102 reviews)

Maya Bella Downtown Hotel ★★

📍 36 Burns Avenue, San Ignacio

"A pleasant hotel located in the center of San Ignacio, close to the bus stop and several restaurants. The balcony with the pool is a lovely place to spend the late afternoon. Although breakfast isn't included, they offer black coffee with bananas, which is a nice touch for those leaving very early for excursions."

Cahal Pech Village Resort
8.5 (101 reviews)

Cahal Pech Village Resort ★★★

📍 4WXF+5P9, George Price Hwy, San Ignacio

"Beautiful resort at the top of the hill close to the ruins. Beautiful pool and cabanas. Food is great especially the cheesecake!"

The Log Cab-Inn

The Log Cab-Inn ★★★

Las Haciendas
9.7 (24 reviews)

Las Haciendas ★★★

📍 5 Durham Drive, San Ignacio

"From arrival to departure , we enjoyed our stay at Las Haciendas . The property feels new and is so beautiful . The staff we came across were so welcoming and friendly. And the apt itself was comfortable , clean and beautifully decorated. The soaking pool was cool and refreshing after long days visiting the sites . The full kitchen had everything we needed and they even gifted us a loaf of fresh bread . They have a mini bar and snack station with affordable pricing and convenient if needed. We would definitely stay here again if we return to San Ignacio . Oh and the the young lady the works reception is friendly , accommodating , and quick to respond . Great property and great team ."

Mariposa Jungle Lodge Hotels in San Ignacio

Mariposa Jungle Lodge

"What an amazing experience in the rain forest. We could not have been more pleased with our opportunity to spend 5 nights in the Puma cabana. This worked well for our family of 4 with a queen bed and a king bed. Private, quite, lovely grounds. Amazingly friendly, helpful, generous and caring staff. We did a meal plan and all the food we have was amazing, you could taste the love Norma and her staff but into every thoughtfully made meal. We arranged all of our excursions thru the Mariposa as well. From airport transfer to the Belize Zoo, Caracol, ATM, cave tubing and an ATV tour. All our drivers and guides were super knowledgeable. If you are looking for a memorable experience in nature - start here. Leo, Robbie, Gladimer, will do everything they can to make sure you have an exceptional experience."

Blancaneaux Lodge by Francis Ford Coppola Hotels in San Ignacio

Blancaneaux Lodge by Francis Ford Coppola

"I just returned from Blancaneaux Lodge in Belize, and it completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I could feel how special the place is. It’s quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by natural beauty that instantly makes you slow down. The landscaping is magical with gardens, flowing creeks, and lush greenery perfectly in tune with the mountain setting. The design of the property is distinctive and full of character. Everything feels handcrafted and thoughtful, creating a sense of warmth and authenticity. It’s beautiful without trying too hard. The amenities are top-notch. There’s a huge organic garden that supplies most of the produce for the restaurants, and you can actually taste the freshness in every dish. The Garden Spot restaurant is perfect for vegetarian meals, while the Italian restaurant serves some of the best pasta I’ve had anywhere. Marty made each meal extra special and was always at the Jaguar Bar in the evenings to greet guests. The Guatemalan restaurant was another highlight. The horse stables, relaxing spa, pristine pool, and the creek running through the property all add to the feeling of total calm and connection. What really makes Blancaneaux unforgettable is the people. Bernie, the General Manager, is an incredible host… warm, kind, and always around in the best way. Adonis at the front desk took care of everything before I could even ask, and Hector from the garden shared so much about their sustainability efforts. Blancaneaux feels personal and grounded. It’s not about over-the-top luxury but about natural elegance and pure serenity. Truly one of the most special places I’ve ever stayed!"

Pine Ridge Lodge Hotels in San Ignacio

Pine Ridge Lodge

"We recently visited Belize and decided to venture into the tropical forests and stay at the Pine Ridge Lodge and had an amazing trip which words could never adequately describe but we will try. This is a must place stay to fully experience Belize. The cottages, grounds, dining area, food, staff, fun little animals all made this one of the most amazing trips we have ever had. There are waterfalls, hikes, caves, ruins, and open air markets all very close to the lodge which truly made us feel we were fully immersed in Belize. Neil and his staff were overly accommodating and we loved our trip visiting them."

The Cabins at Monkey Fall Hotels in San Ignacio

The Cabins at Monkey Fall

"The comfiest accommodations, most delicious food and most lovely host! We stayed here in October, 2025 for a few nights and wish we had booked our entire trip here. The grounds are absolutely stunning and everyone working at the cabins are incredibly kind and helpful. We loved Belize, and will absolutely be coming back to the cabins in the future."

Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge Hotels in San Ignacio

Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge

"We had a girls trip to Belize in January 2025 and I stayed in the new Cascade Villa at Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge. The villa was beautiful with awesome sunset and waterfall views. It had everything needed for a relaxing and luxurious stay. Vian was the best and took care of our every wish. He was extremely knowledgeable about Belize and the Mayan culture and was very engaging. The food by Chef Sean was wonderful and it all is sourced local. I highly recommend a day trip touring and hiking to see the various waterfalls with a private picnic lunch and swim at your own waterfall! I also recommend the cocktail class with Kenny - he smiles all the time and truly loves what he does and they were the best drinks ever! Everyone at Hidden Valley Wilderness Lodge made our experience special and I highly recommend it - and Cascade Villa was the best ever. Three nights was not enough and I'll be back."

Ka'Ana Resort & Spa ★★★★
"Good hotel but a little far from town and a little too close to the road. Avoid first category rooms which are not great but superior category rooms are great. Breakfast could be improved. The service is generally good. In conclusion I recommend this hotel 😃😃🙂😃"

Venus Hotel ★★
"It's an older hotel but still nice. The door wasn't looking good and looked like it was broken in a few times. But we didn't experience that our selves. The staff was friendly and always someone at the door so we felt safe anyway. Parking nearby and directly in the center of town. Places to go all around so easy to go by tour or by yourself."

The Lodge at ChaaCreek ★★★★
"We just returned from an absolutely magical stay at Chaa Creek! From the oldest (84) to the youngest (7), all 11 of us had a wonderful stay. The Chaa Creek reservation clerk, Christine, spent a lot of time helping us to figure out how to spend a few days at the beach (Chabil Mar) and a few days at Chaa Creek. She also arranged all of our transportation, which made everything easy. We stayed in several cottages as well as the Wright House. All were lovely and comfortable. The Wright House is a climb, but the staff was always willing to find an ATV to transport us at the end of the day. We did the Xunantunich tour - Ricky was great taking the kids off the trail to crack nuts open with rocks and explain how the Mayans used them for food, medicine, soap and glue. We did the Creatures of the Night Walk. Floated down the river in inner tubes. The dads and kids did the ATV tour while the moms snuck off to the spa for some wonderful massages. We checked out the butterfly house and wished we had more time to spend in the Natural History Museum. We stopped at the zoo on the way to the airport. The grounds are lovely. It’s like staying in a botanical garden. There is staff everywhere and they always greet you and ask how your stay is. The food is over-the-top delicious. We did the 4 course tasting menu every night. Breakfast and lunch were outstanding as well, and the bartenders were always ready to provide a tropical drink or load the kid’s juice up with fruit and extra cherries. The pool was a hit with everyone and we had lunch there one day. Chaa Creek is a perfect spot, whether you are looking for action or just want to relax. We cannot recommend it highly enough. It’s a splurge - and worth every penny."

"A basic hotel. Unfortunately, the receptionist had absolutely no information to offer. She couldn't tell me about transfers to Guatemala (which are usually standard here) or what tours are available. She wasn't really helpful. Otherwise, the hotel is a bit noisy."

Las Haciendas ★★★
"Truly, a highlight of the trip. This place is immaculate, luxurious, and quite comfortable as well. A bonus is every unit having its own small dipping pool. It is set a bit out of town, which might not be convenient for someone without a car. But if you do have a car, this is the place to be. Up on the hill and off the beaten track, it’s quiet and safe. The manager was extremely communicative and responsive. I loved having the washer and dryer in the unit which is convenient when you’re traveling."
