"The resort is located in a peaceful and quiet area. We stayed here in August, which is a very quiet time of year. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is a wonderful place to stay. The staff is absolutely phenomenal. They quickly understand who you are and what your wishes and needs are. They truly love children, and our 10-year-old son had an amazing time. Everyone is always willing to help wherever they can. The restaurant deserves a special thank you for the delicious food and excellent service. The service was very personal, and we always felt genuinely welcomed and looked after. A big thank you to the housekeeping team as well. Our room was cleaned perfectly every day, and we loved coming back to see the creative towel animals, beautifully decorated with flowers on our bed. It was such a lovely and thoughtful touch! Thank you to the reception team and the doorman for your kindness and warm welcome. You made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. And a special thank you to the gardeners, who work hard every day to keep everything so beautiful. The gardens and grounds are very well maintained and look absolutely lovely. Most excursions are between one and three hours away by car, but honestly, that is more than worth it. After a day of sightseeing, it feels wonderful to return to the peace and tranquillity of the resort. This was our first time in Sri Lanka, and we had a truly wonderful holiday. We would like to thank everyone at the resort for making our stay so special! One small tip: next to the hotel there is a little shop called S&S. It is a convenient shop, but keep an eye on the total when paying, as we noticed that the lady sometimes adds a few extra rupees to the bill. The shop on the other side of the hotel, just past the bend, is a little cheaper."

"The Suriya is a beautiful hotel, with friendly and attentive staff. The pool and grounds are beautiful, with direct view of the sea. On this occasion I made use of the spa facilities, Le Lily Spa where I was welcomed by Niranjan. Who gave me a relaxing Balinese massage. The professionalism and relaxation experienced had me returning for a second massage. The room is comfortable and the oils used help to create an ambience. Niranjan worked very hard to ensure I felt completely relaxed and that I was comfortable. Following the massage, I was invited to relax for a few more moments before being greeted with a cup of cinnamon and lime tea. The Suriya is a beautiful hotel, and the spa facilities and staff within it add to the luxury."

"The staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooms we clean and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The food was tasty and plentiful, one day I had the Sri Lankan crab curry & rice which was delicious and highly recommend it when on the menu. The grounds and pool had a spectacular view of the ocean. The sunsets here are amazing!"

"We decided to go here because they seemed to have a lot of positive reviews. But unfortunately in our opinion, the hotel failed to meet even the most basic of expectations. The food was terrible and extremely overpriced. There were no sunbeds or even chairs at the beach to sit at. Even the cut fruits we requested after lunch were unripe. Rooms were alright, although the bed sheet and the pillowcases had stains on them. The only place to hang out wet clothes or towels was a rusty wall mount rack in the toilet that ended up staining our clothes. We could've managed with the quality of service, cleanliness and facilities had there been decent food. Extremely disappointed at the quality and the exorbitant price for the food. Wouldn't really recommend this place to anyone."

"We stayed at the hotel for two weeks and it was SO nice. The room was very clean and has a cosy atmosphere to it. The restaurant and bar at pool was so nice and the service was fantastic. We were often served by a waiter named Dileepa. He was so service minded and was a very warm person :-) The surroundings of the place was so beautiful. We do not really have anything bad to say about this place. Would defiantly recommend it :-)"

"The area this resort is in slum area. Here there is nothing. The beach is walking 30 - 40 minutes if you are fast walking or slow. If the way is the lagoon there is not nice smell and algie to the waist then the land is broken and 15 minutes. The coconut man is real nice and clean his beach, the next parts both ways has many plastic parts and fish parts with smell. The boss is not nice with staff persons but they are nice and hard worker. We are not go again to here it is not a good place for holiday. Herr Schäfer"
