"Excellent location directly above the train station (not noisy) and a few blocks walk to the lake, shopping, restaurants, bars, the ferry etc. This lodging location is nearly brand new, very modern, with an excellent kitchen area, full refrigerator and other kitchen appliances, an outdoor patio right off the living room that has views of the lake, surrounding mountains, the activity at the train station, etc. The owner/manager was very friendly and helpful at the last minute when our intended lodging location fell through. The cost here is also reasonable considering that you're at Lake Como with all of the amenities provided here. [There is not laundry.] I've stayed in Varenna before at Villa Monastero which is beautiful with its gardens and on-the-lake location. Residenze Decimina is a much more modern place, about the same walking distance to most of the places you'll visit in town, but at a much more reasonable cost. No gardens, of course, but still a very good option for a place to stay in the Varenna / Lake Como area. I would absolutely stay here again when I return."

"The hotel is super! For those who, like me, come for just a couple of days to walk and ride around the nearby towns, this is a great option: Location - in close proximity to the bus stop (now there are no trains to Varenna due to preparations for the Olympics, but there are transfer buses from Lecco station to Varenna, so it stops right in front of the hotel). It is very convenient with a suitcase - you don't need to drag it anywhere far, literally a couple of minutes on foot and you are at the hotel. The only thing you need to take into account is that check-in (as well as breakfast) is in another building, but also right next door. Also from the hotel it is literally 5-7 minutes to the pier, from where boats go to Bellagio, Menaggio, etc. Very convenient. From the hotel you can walk to the center of Varenna (7-10 minutes), to Villa Cipressi and Monastero (12 minutes), go up to the Vezio castle (20 minutes up a steep climb on foot). But a small addition - if you are without a suitcase, light, then it is better to stay in the center, life is in full swing there, probably this has its own advantage. The staff at the hotel is super-friendly, pleasant, I thank them for this! They helped me with my suitcase when checking in, told and showed me everything. By the way, the elevator in the hotel is only for luggage, you have to go up on foot yourself, but for me it was not a problem. The room itself is clean, spacious, bright, with large windows. From the window in my room there was a gorgeous view of the city, the lake and the mountains 😍 it is very cozy to drink tea or coffee on the balcony. Tea, coffee and a kettle are in the room. The breakfast was good, there was a choice, sweet and unsweetened, fruits, tea, coffee, etc. After checking out, you can leave your suitcase in storage and walk around a bit more. There's only one downside - the keys are physical, and there's a big, heavy metal keychain on the keys 🤪🤪🤪 that takes up a lot of space in your bag 😅"

"Me and my partner stayed here from the 15th until the 19th of August and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was a 5 minute walk to the ferry and 15 minutes from the main restaurants in Varenna. The only down side to the stay was the loud construction work which was taking place at the Varenna train station. The work would usually start around 06:30 and carry on until late hours of the night (loud machinery would not be used at the later hours of the day). However this had nothing to do with the apartments and was unavoidable. The owner did send us a message in advance about the work being carried out. Overall our stay was enjoyed with a good apartment and great views."
