Be prepared to not be treated as you deserve unless you are part of a group, recommended by a NORTHAMERICAN agency, or are American yourself. We stayed here for a weekend and, despite booking one of the best rooms in the property, when we requested a dinner reservation with lake view two days before IN ADVANCED, we were assigned a table hidden in a corner while obvious preference was given to a group of American guests (white )and connected to an agency or organizer. The owner spent the evening personally greeting and welcoming every one of those individuals while largely ignoring guests outside of his convenience or interest. The dinner is extremely ordinary and absolutely not worth the price. Expensive, forgettable, and far below what this place tries to project. The waiters are very young, amateur, and clearly inexperienced. Service between courses took up to 45 minutes!!!!!! only for the dishes to arrive barely warm — apparently because all attention was focused on that preferred group. That same night other guests were openly complaining about the exact same situation and delays.( arguing out loud with the restaurant/hostel staff) This is not a luxury hotel experience. It is basically a glorified hostel with a beautiful location and spectacular lake view… and ONLY that. Breakfast is a very basic American-style breakfast: nothing is hot … even the coffee.. employees throwing food onto trays like in a prison, very small, overcrowded, and once again the better tables seemed blocked or reserved for guests connected to agencies or management recommendations. Extremely noisy at night because it's not a hotel; it used to be a house, and each room is now a separate bedroom, so upstairs, downstairs, and to the side, it's like having the guest inside your room. You can hear all the noise and phones from reception... all the time. Additional problems: - NO nearby parking - No 24-hour staff - No real assistance in case of urgency or emergency - Hard and old bed - Only two pillows - Far from many interesting places around Lake Como If you decide to stay here, buy your own food and enjoy the view from your room. Do not waste your money on the breakfast and especially NOT on the dinner. If you are willing to pay premium prices to receive poor treatment and mediocre service, this is your place. One night here is more than enough to suffer through the experience.
