Hotels with Parking in Sokcho-si

This hotel was a cool sanctuary on a really hot summer day. Perhaps because it's a new building or well-maintained, I didn't see a single strand of hair. It was incredibly clean, and the facilities were impeccable. Having a water dispenser in the room meant I didn't need to buy bottled water, and the coffee machine and bidet added to the convenience. The view was also fantastic. I usually wonder if paying extra for a regular ocean view is worth it since it gets pitch black after sunset, but my wife wanted it, so we booked it. This place, however, offered beautiful views from morning to night, including the night scenery, the sea, and Cheongcho Lake, which was lovely. There's a variety of great restaurants nearby, and Sokcho Beach isn't far either. It was truly a wonderful place to stay. If only the water pressure in the shower had been a bit stronger, it would have been a perfect 100-point stay, so I'll give it a 99 out of 100. Haha.

I spent three nights at this hotel located not far from the entrance to Seorak National Park. So let's start at the beginning by stating that this was one of the main criteria that guided my choice and helped me narrow down the wide range of hotels in Sokcho. I wanted to be within easy reach of the reserve since I'm a hiking enthusiast. A word of advice, though: take a taxi, which will likely drop you off below the parking area. This way, you'll be sure to arrive well warmed up before your trekking session. But I'm getting further away from the hotel... A second element, logically related to the above, if, like me, you were looking for a quiet and peaceful place to rest after your workout, you've found it. A true haven of peace... perfect for a good night's sleep, except in exceptional circumstances, since the first night I had a serious snorer, and since the walls aren't very thick... I won't draw you a picture. Breakfast is available by informing reception the night before. For the price, don't miss out. Room cleaning is also available, just request it in the lobby. The rooms are remarkably clean, although not very spacious. But the hotel offers almost all the usual amenities one would expect in addition to the room amenities: toiletries, free 5G internet access, bottled water, French coffee pods (be careful, there's a catch) and green tea... Unfortunately, when it came time to extend my stay by one night to rest in the dry - the weather is very bad in Korea right now - reservations were fully booked due to Chuseok - Korean Thanksgiving - a major family reunion event where ancestors are honored... needless to say, this is also the most difficult time to find accommodation and, of course, the most expensive for us as guests. Prices easily double. Keep this in mind if you come to Korea, and especially if possible, book in advance during the fall holidays. Unfortunately, shortly after booking elsewhere, a room became available... And where I landed, I quickly found myself in a completely different world, with a clientele and atmosphere that were the opposite of what I had so enjoyed at the Amaranth Hotel. So British in a very nice way...isn't it?

1. Poor Room Layout and Lack of Consideration for Female Guests There is no dressing table/vanity. Without one, there should at least be a mirror positioned where I can sit down to apply makeup, but the only mirror is located by the entrance (where you put on shoes). I tried using the bathroom instead, but the lighting is so poorly placed that it reflects off the mirror, making it impossible to see my face clearly. Furthermore, the hairdryer cord is so short that I can’t even look in the mirror while drying my hair. The lack of consideration for female guests is appalling. 2. Unreasonable Trash Disposal Policy Guests are required to sort and dispose of their own recycling. I don’t understand why a guest staying at a hotel is expected to do the housekeeping. To make matters worse, the trash disposal area has no roof, so if it’s raining, you have to either hold an umbrella or just get soaked while throwing away the trash. 3. Unmanaged AV Room There is an AV/Game room, but no staff members are stationed there to manage it. This means if one team decides to monopolize the equipment and play for hours, there is no way to intervene. There is clearly no oversight or system in place to ensure all guests get a fair turn.

Our stay at this hotel has been pleasant overall, but we did encounter two problems, 1. When we entered our room we found out that the AC was not working properly, we gave it some time and it still didn’t work so we contacted the receptionist, which sent us a technician to solve our problem but his only solution was to wait, and even when we told him that we have been in the room for two hours already, he insisted we need to wait (he did not understand English so the conversation was really hard to get through), so after waiting another hour we contacted the receptionist again and this time transferred us to another room which had good AC so this problem was solved. 2. The breakfast was really really bad, and the only real source of protein it had was pork in 4 different ways, and scrambled egg which we really didn’t like at all, and also the only choice of coffee in the breakfast is milk with “coffee syrup”(???) which is super inappropriate. Overall I would recommend to stay in this hotel and just not take the breakfast.

🐳👩🏻&👧🏻's Korea Trip Fourth stop ☞ Sokcho Luxury ocean view family room, two queen beds (131 cm wide) separated by a three-panel soundproof door. Accommodates four people, a really great room type. Facilities: Very new, minimalist decor, built-in large refrigerator, fresh-keeping cabinet, 28F gym and cafe, 29F infinity pool. Location: Very close to the long-distance bus terminal and the beach. A direct bus takes you to Jungang Market. The scenery is lovely. The only drawback is that this room faces south-southwest, so you can't watch the sunrise 🌅

We stayed 2 nights, and the owners were really kind and friendly and invited us to sing and play Korean songs along with them and other families in the stage they have in the basement. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my whole trip in South Korea. The room and water were warm and well suited for the winter. They upgraded our room for free and there was so much space with sink, fridge, sofa and table included. The breakfast every morning is delicious and filling, preparing you well for a day of walking in the mountains. 설악산 was beautiful coated in the white snow. The location of the hotel is great too, as there is a frequent bus that takes you to the park in no time, as well as to the city when you first come or when you leave the last day. I hope I can come back again to visit the park during different seasons, and I will definitely would like to stay in this hotel again. Thank you for everything. Gracias, 감사합니다 😄

Great service where you can check in and check out without meeting people. there is kiosk at the lobby and it has korean english and chinese too. beach is really close, and other shops like cafes (literal cafe. not like 백다방 or 메가커피only. well they do have those two shops too), convenience stores, and photobooth (포토이즘, 인생네컷). our 3 days and 2 nights were comfortable and nice. room is smaller than expected but was fine for 3 women. got TV, microwave and water boiler too. room cleaner change the towel and give water which not usual in 가성비 호텔 in korea cz they(from my experience going to 6 hotels in korea) just dont give unless you ask. service point there. overall was nice!

No tea bags or coffee sachets provided, which is a bit weird.  Water pressure for shower is way too weak.  No room cleaning services, leaving alone having your new towels put outside your room in the morning. Only 4 lifts serving way too many hotel stayers, resulting in long waiting lines and thus, time.  Views are magnificient however.  The room is so massive and the balconies are spacious.

Our room was on the 6th floor, right in front of Sokcho Beach, and the view was pretty good. The bed was big and comfortable for three of us, and the room was clean. There's a famous local restaurant, Hangari Mulhoe, nearby. The breakfast here, at 13,000 won, includes bibimbap, noodles, and Han River-style ramen, which I think is excellent for the price. We had a great, relaxing stay and a hearty meal before leaving. We'd definitely come back again.

The Accommodations The rooms themselves were perfectly fine. They were clean, the bed was comfortable enough for a decent night's sleep, and the amenities were exactly what you’d expect for the price point. If I were rating based on the physical space alone, this would be a solid, middle-of-the-road experience. The Service However, the customer service was nonexistent. From the moment I checked in, it felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff. The front desk was cold and unresponsive, and trying to get assistance with a simple request felt like pulling teeth. There was a total lack of energy or ”hospitality” in the hospitality—no smiles, no proactive help, and a general vibe of indifference that really soured the stay. It’s a shame, because a little bit of effort from the team could have easily turned this into a positive review.
