The hotel is in a good location and is a 100-year-old building. The room was very comfortable and the service was first class. The breakfast was exceptionally rich. The front desk of the hotel can also help book a Michelin restaurant. The price is very good.

**”BAD: Beware of the 'Upgrade'”** Our priority when booking was the room size and budget, so we reserved a 32m² City View room. At check-in, the hotel staff offered us an ”upgrade.” He said that for an additional €25 per day, we could ”upgrade,” so we agreed. However, while the room did have a Sea View, the size was downgraded to just 21m². I told them that paying €25 to have a smaller room was a downgrade, but they insisted that the view had been upgraded. I asked to be moved back to the room we originally booked, but the staff ignored my request for an entire day. Let me ask you this: if you went to see a new landscape, and the view changed, how would you describe it? You wouldn’t say the landscape itself was ”upgraded,” would you? You’d say the view was different or better. The following day, I finally got a response from the staff. They told me I’d need to pay an additional €70 per day if I wanted a 32m² Sea View room. While the hotel facilities and scenery are excellent, the staff are focused entirely on business and seem to aim to squeeze every extra euro from their guests. In the end, we ended up paying the €25. **Beware of the 'Upgrade.'”**

A boutique hotel close to the Dona Katalina Zubia. There are two entrances to the hotel, the main one facing the road and the other entrance facing the Urumea River. Staff were friendly and always had a smile. The hotel is quite clean and everything is within 15mins walk. The amenities are limited, but there is a 24 hour reception and bar downstairs, a nice roof top sunbathing area and a gym. Please double check the other amenities listing when booking, as I don't recall seeing the Public Bath, Foot Bath and Clothes Dryer as advertise. I would also suggest to check the batteries of the remotes before someone check ins, as I had to request it to be changed and it wasn't available until the next day, more compliment bottles of water and dental kits (given there was 3 of us and only 2 bottles and 1 kit). Overall though, I enjoyed the stay and would come back again.

I stayed at Hotel Zinema7 for 4 nights. The hotel has a modern design, comfortable rooms, and a pleasant atmosphere overall. However, there were a few disappointing aspects to the stay. The location is not very central, which means you need to rely on buses or taxis more often than expected to reach the Old Town and main tourist areas. The biggest frustration was that the telephone in the room was not working throughout the stay, despite reporting the issue. Unfortunately, it was never fixed, which made communication with reception inconvenient. Another disappointing point was the complimentary water policy. Water was provided only on the first day, even during a 4-day stay, which felt unnecessarily stingy for a hotel of this category. Overall, the hotel has good design and comfortable facilities, but the service experience and attention to guest convenience could definitely be improved.

Location is a bit out of the city centre, but located in a peaceful area (contrastingly) next to a forest and a biotech hub. However, a bus stop a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel has a service that goes directly to the Boulevard located between the Old Town and the City Centre (85sen per trip or cheaper with the San Sebastian Card - available at the hotel) within 25 mins (or slightly longer with traffic). My room was comfortable and clean, although it might be a bit tight for space with 2 people. Bed was comfortable with pillows of various firmness. Bathroom was big and well-designed, although the shower and bath might be a bit tight for larger people. Shower pressure was excellent. Tip: Open the drawer under the sink to dispose your garbage and recyclables. Staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. My only complaint is that my water was never refilled throughout my stay, but I admit I did not ask about it at the time.

Appreciated the free parking and beautiful views of the city below. The hotel is also conveniently located near the bus stop. Our hotel room was pretty clean but I would describe the room amenities as basic. The pillows were too soft - presumably due to the lack of pillow filling. The motion sensor lights in the toilet also turned off every 5 mins which was a bit annoying sometimes. For the price paid, I still think our stay was worth it.

I stayed at Axel San Sebastián for a solo trip and was absolutely delighted by the warm hospitality and friendly vibes. My trip started with a bit of a crisis; I left my luggage on an intercity bus and had a restaurant reservation overlapping with the pick-up time. I was quite overwhelmed, but staff member Tanja was a true lifesaver. She went above and beyond to help me arrange the luggage pick-up and even communicated with the restaurant to reschedule my reservation. Thanks to her incredible support, the rest of my stay in Donostia was seamless and wonderful. The hotel itself is neat, modern, and has a very inviting atmosphere with a fabulous, stylish touch. I also thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi. Between the best service I've ever received and the great energy from fellow guests, I’m leaving Donostia with the best memories. Genial. Nuevo y limpio. Habitación espaciosa y funcional. Tiene secador y jabones. Tiene café y té disponible tanto en la habitación como en el hall. Buena comunicación y fácil acceso. Al lado de la playa de Ondarreta.

The pension is easy to find, and staff are very helpful. Beds are comfortable; coffee and tea are available; everything is clean. The only difficulty might be is there is only one bathroom for all the guests. We were here in low season, so didn't have much difficulty, but I can imagine problems in the high season. The pension is in the old part of San Sebastian, so visiting the most picturesque parts is easy, as is visiting nearby villages. Local food is excellent. I highly recommend this pension; excellent value for your money. It's the best base for exploring this part of the Basque Country.

A magnificent hotel perched high with breathtaking views of the sea and La Concha beach. Comfortable and elegant. The staff is lovely. My only regret is that the outdoor pool area doesn't open earlier (it's only open in the summer) so you can enjoy the stunning views in good weather without actually swimming.
