The moment I stepped out of the car, I was impressed by the hotel's luxurious decor and amazing view – a vast field right in front of us. The owner was incredibly kind and even helped with our luggage. After checking in, I just sat on the balcony, enjoying the wonderful breeze, taking photos, and gazing at the rice paddies – literally doing nothing else. Around noon, with the bright sunshine and the wind rustling through the fields, it was an incredibly beautiful and picturesque scene. The courtyard is also gorgeous and perfect for photos. I had planned to go out in the afternoon, but ended up just staying and taking more pictures. The rice paddies are stunning this time of year; I imagine they'll have a different, equally beautiful vibe when they turn golden later. Just sitting there, watching the wind blow through the fields, with not a care in the world, was more relaxing than visiting any attraction. The ancient town's pickup service was very prompt, arriving in about 5 minutes. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious too! 😋

I'm not a shill, this is a genuinely positive review! I'm so glad I chose this guesthouse; I'll definitely choose it again whenever I come to Shaxi! First of all, the location is fantastic, right next to the town government, making life extremely convenient. It's close to the ancient town but not actually inside it, quiet and beautiful. Secondly, it fulfills every Chinese person's dream of a courtyard house. Both the guesthouse's beautiful courtyard and the small gardens in each room are incredibly comfortable. Thirdly, the cleanliness is impeccable; many details are truly amazing! Most importantly, the owners are a gentle, kind, simple, and warm-hearted Bai couple who touched us deeply, making us truly understand why this place is a place of wind and poetry!

My stay in Shaxi was made truly special and serene by choosing Kogonki. Even before I arrived, the butler thoughtfully added me on WeChat, reminding me that the ancient town's cobblestone paths aren't ideal for dragging luggage. He was already waiting at the drop-off point with a small trolley to pick us up. Stepping into this 140-year-old renovated ancestral home, you can feel the tranquil atmosphere that has settled over a century-old courtyard. The traditional Bai ethnic 'running horse turning corner' architecture has been meticulously restored, preserving its historical weight while injecting modern comfort. The room itself was full of thoughtful details, not only equipped with Hansgrohe bathroom fixtures, a Dyson humidifier, and Bulgari toiletries, but what was even more touching were the unexpected small items – a portable bag for outings came prepared with sunglasses, sunscreen spray, lip balm, and even a face mask, eye mask, and laundry detergent! Such meticulousness made me feel incredibly pampered. Every day, fresh fruit and an exquisite afternoon tea were provided, and after a tiring day of exploring, a warm bowl of sweet soup awaited us before bed. What was most unforgettable was the service; everyone was genuine and enthusiastic. The 24-hour butler response was incredibly prompt, and no matter what we needed, they were always patient. The Guoqiao rice noodles for breakfast were very authentic, and I heard it's considered the best breakfast in the ancient town. Located right in the center of the ancient town, it's just a stone's throw from the ancient opera stage and Yujin Bridge, making it effortless to immerse ourselves in Shaxi's slow-paced life. This isn't just a hotel; it feels more like a warm home in Shaxi. The next time I return to Shaxi, I will definitely choose to stay here again.

A very cozy and elegant B&B, super close to the ancient town entrance, highly recommend for Shaxi accommodation! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Shaxi during the rainy season has a unique tranquility and relaxation, and staying here felt just like home. We were wonderfully looked after and very comfortable. The breakfast and afternoon tea were top-notch. Every staff member served and cared for guests with all their heart. What a fantastic team! 😇

This guesthouse has a story to tell. There's a 530-year-old ancient tree right by the entrance, home to a family of squirrels. As soon as I entered the room, I found a pair of chestnut-dyed cloth squirrels placed on the bed. Lying on the third-floor bed, the old tree glowed with life under the setting sun. The indigo-dyed soft couch on the terrace made me fall in love with Yunnan's sunshine, and the abundant flowers and plants everywhere showed the owner's passion for life. The guesthouse manager and the young lady's tea and dishes were unforgettable; that elegant, down-to-earth charm makes me want to return to this place again and again.

Stayed at Shaxi Suiqing Inn for three nights, like the style of the courtyard, the flower and grass fish pond pavilion, casual and natural without losing meticulousness, like clean and comfortable tables and chairs inside and outside, like the spacious and quiet large study room. The boss Wu Ge is an open-minded person, sincere and casual, reasonable, good at communication, diligent and pragmatic, is a rare smart and real cultural businessman. Beautiful short-term living experience!

I'm already home but still thinking about my three days in Shaxi!!! 1. Location + Parking 🅿️: The guesthouse was very easy to find, and since we drove, we wanted a place with parking. There's a small road in front of the guesthouse where you can park, which was very convenient 😊. 2. Ambiance: As soon as we stepped out of the car and entered, we were pleasantly surprised. It's a very comfortable and stylish courtyard. When we didn't go out, sitting in the courtyard and having some tea was incredibly relaxing. I also loved the room's decor – it was clean, hygienic, and had a subtle, pleasant aroma. There were small tables and chairs outside the room where we could relax. 3. Service: The guesthouse owner, the front desk lady, and the auntie were all super nice and enthusiastic. They gave us great tips for exploring the ancient town, and their daily greetings felt like catching up with old friends. (The breakfast was really delicious!) There's also a super cute cat named Huanhuan at the guesthouse!!!! So spiritual!! And very friendly!!! Every time I came back, I'd look for the cat first, haha!!! Overall, it was a very happy and relaxing trip! If I get a chance to visit Shaxi again, I'll definitely stay here again 🥰.

The landlady was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. She went out of her way to introduce nearby attractions and local spots, which made exploring Shaxi much easier and more meaningful. She also helped us arrange an e-bike rental, which turned out to be one of the best ways to get around and discover the surrounding areas. The room itself was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Cleanliness is clearly a top priority here, with many guests highlighting the same consistently high standards, often comparing it to much higher-end properties . The bed was cozy, and the overall environment made it very easy to relax and unwind after a day out. The homestay has a very charming and quaint atmosphere, especially at night. The courtyard and surroundings give off a peaceful, almost storybook-like vibe that really adds to the overall experience. It’s located just a short distance from Shaxi Ancient Town, making it convenient while still being quiet and away from the crowds. Many reviews also mention the easy access to the old town and nearby attractions, whether by short ride or walk . What I really appreciated is that Shaxi itself has so much to explore beyond just the main old town. From scenic countryside rides to hidden spots and cultural sites, there’s plenty to do if you’re willing to venture out—and this homestay is a great base for it. Overall, this is a beautifully run boutique homestay with exceptional service, great comfort, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shaxi, and I would definitely return again.

It was super convenient to get back to the hotel after exploring the ancient town. The design is really impressive, with a natural wood and Song Dynasty-inspired aesthetic that perfectly matches Shaxi's rustic charm. The courtyard with its flowing water, wooden corridors, and the gentle, Zen-like atmosphere as soon as you open the door is just lovely 🍃. The room was spacious and comfortable, the bedding was so soft, and the bathroom facilities were convenient and clean. After a shower, curling up in bed and watching 'Meet Yourself' just melted away all the day's fatigue. There's 24-hour butler service and afternoon tea upon check-in – sipping tea, listening to the wind, and watching the fish play in the pond amidst the misty atmosphere was truly relaxing 🐟. Waking up early, enjoying breakfast, and then just gazing out the window at the scenery, listening to the wind and rain, is truly living that slow-paced 'wind-filled' life.
