On June 28, 2026, at 7:00 AM, after a high-speed train and a slower 'green-skin' train journey, we finally arrived at the Golmud Huanghe International Hotel. The friendly front desk lady warmly welcomed us and quickly processed our check-in. She even thoughtfully gave us two breakfast vouchers and advised us to rest well at the hotel after eating to acclimatize to the high altitude, rather than engaging in strenuous activities right away. The hotel's location is excellent, making it convenient for dining and shopping. It also has its own parking lot, which is very friendly for self-driving tourists. The guest rooms are spacious, bright, clean, and hygienic, and the housekeeping staff diligently cleaned them every day. The hotel breakfast was abundant, offering both Chinese and Western options, as well as ******* tsampa and milk tea. The freshly prepared beef noodles were particularly good. They delivered complimentary fruit and snacks every day. On two occasions when we left early for a day tour, they even prepared packed lunches for us. The lobby manager, Xiaofang, was incredibly kind. She gave us a discount when we extended our stay and even added us on WeChat, checking in daily to see how we (being seniors in our sixties) were adapting to the high altitude. The Golmud Huanghe International Hotel truly felt like a warm and considerate temporary home for us in the highlands. We are very grateful for the efforts of every staff member at the hotel. Our trip to the Northwest highlands was delightful, and none of our initial worries materialized; we completed our high-altitude itinerary smoothly. I highly recommend staying at this hotel if you visit Golmud. Five-star rating!

I stayed here in August during a Qinghai–Gansu trip with my girlfriend. The staff were consistently professional, helpful, and kind. The hotel is modern and offers a good range of amenities, including a gym and laundry facilities. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained. Breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of both local and international options. The only drawback was the soundproofing, as some noise from the neighbouring room could be heard. I would recommend asking specifically for a quiet room when booking. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily recommend this hotel +++++

Extremely satisfied! The day before, due to altitude sickness, I had to cancel my reservation, and the hotel promptly confirmed the free cancellation. The next day, I felt much better and was reluctant to miss out on the trip, so I booked this hotel again at the last minute. This desert hotel offered stunning sunsets, stars, and sunrises—truly exceeding my expectations! The butler service was incredibly attentive, and they even prepared a small gift. Highly recommended!

Hotel was excellent, the staffs managed to arrange for me to check-in early despite check-in time to be usually at 2pm, I managed to put my bags down and rest and catch my day trip in Golmud, furthermore they also helped reschdule my breakfast and also informed me on the laundry services available. Overall, staying at Kaibang Hotel is the smoothest and most enjoyable experience

I had a wonderful stay! The room was spacious and well-designed, spotlessly clean, and completely odor-free. The bed was so soft and comfortable, I slept like a baby. The bathroom had a great wet/dry separation, and there was plenty of hot water, with all the essential amenities provided. The hotel staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and friendly. The location is super convenient for transportation, yet the surroundings are peaceful and quiet. It’s definitely an excellent choice for a trip. The hygiene was top-notch; there wasn't a speck of dust or dirt anywhere, and the room was well-ventilated with a comfortable temperature. The soundproofing was fantastic, making for a truly quiet night's rest. The facilities were excellent, with soft, pleasant lighting. The staff were responsive and friendly. This hotel offers much better value for money than others in its price range, and I would genuinely recommend it and definitely return.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! It completely exceeded my expectations! First off, the parking lot is large and very convenient for parking. The lobby is bright and spacious, and there's even a small gym. It's super easy to find places to eat nearby. The hotel room itself is incredibly spacious, and the bed is large, clean, and very comfortable. In the evening, the hotel thoughtfully brought us a sweet soup. The breakfast was rich, varied, and delicious; I was really touched to find fresh shrimp there! When we left, the hotel even prepared a souvenir for us. Five-star rating!

We checked in late at night after touring Chaka Salt Lake, and since we were traveling with a child, they offered us a room upgrade, so the three of us slept very comfortably. The breakfast was also great, with just the right items for breakfast, and they replenished the food immediately whenever it ran low. It is truly the best.

The hotel itself was generally fine and met our expectations for a short stay. The room and shower were clean, and the facilities were in good condition. Breakfast was also pretty good, with enough variety to start the day comfortably. Service was okay, nothing exceptional, but overall professional and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the bus station, which made arriving and leaving easy. The main downside is the location of the city itself. It’s quite isolated, and except for Chaka lake there is nothing to do. The surrounding area didn’t feel very pleasant to walk around at night, with not much to do nearby. That said, as a place to stay overnight, the hotel itself was perfectly fine and comfortable.

It was okay, nothing special. I initially booked a special offer room and realized it had no windows and was tiny, which I couldn't really accept. So, I switched to a slightly larger room with a window. The room's lighting was constantly dim, making the whole place feel gloomy, whether it was the lightbulb or the design, I'm not sure. The facilities were also quite old. But considering the cheap price, I just made do with it. The cleanliness, however, was decent.

Five stars without hesitation! Choosing to stay at the Starry Sky Inn in the Chaka Salt Lake Sky No. 1 Scenic Area was a wise decision. The inn is right next to the floating pavilion, and I specifically tried the unique salt-heated bed. The natural salt lake minerals heated the bed, and the warmth slowly seeped into my body, instantly relieving the fatigue of my long journey. Accommodation within the scenic area allows free access to the park, eliminating the need to rush and fight for a spot. The salt lake scenery within the scenic area is also very beautiful and worth taking photos of. Sunrise and sunset can be captured at your leisure. The rooms were clean and tidy, with excellent heating facilities, perfectly adapted to the high-altitude climate. The staff were warm and attentive. This was the most amazing stop on my Northwest trip. Version Three (Artsy and Niche Style) Living by the salt lake, falling asleep to the starry sky – a perfect experience. Stay at the Sky No. 1 Starry Sky Inn and try the salt-heated bed therapy in the floating pavilion. The warm, moist salt stones were incredibly comforting. During the day, enjoy the mirror-like salt lake, and watch the lake shimmer like gold at sunset; at night, draw back the curtain of the sky, and the vast starry sky fills the rooftop. Avoid the crowds and quietly enjoy the unique romance of Chaka Salt Lake. The food and accommodation far exceeded expectations; the convenience of staying within the scenic area was excellent.
