"Location is good. Safe and comfortable with a supermarket on a next street and shopping area around. Overall its an old hotel that needs renovation Breakfast is fine. Rooms poorly equipped. Shower is a disaster"

Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa

Grand Hotel Piazza Borsa ★★★★

📍 Via dei Cartari, 18, Palermo

"After all, friends who come to Catania should not come to see high-rise buildings. Stay here, stroll the streets, appreciate the unique style of the island, taste Italian folk snacks, and visit the secluded ruins. After all, many of the dilapidated places along the way may disappoint you, but staying here can balance them all."

Hotel Mediterraneo

Hotel Mediterraneo ★★★

📍 Via Rosolino Pilo, 43, Palermo

"Excellent breakfast and a very central location, with the option of paid hotel parking."

Grand Hotel Wagner Hotels in Palermo

"The hotel has an excellent location, making it very convenient to get to the opera house and the city center. The breakfast spread was generous, and the front desk staff could communicate in English. Although the hotel is rated five-star, the decor and facilities are showing their age."

"Stay away! There is something very wrong with the other reviews of this b&b. The place is in a terrible area of Palermo. In attempting to drive there, we got into some seriously bad slums. I strongly recommend that you be careful about using the standard navigation apps, as in trying to send you on the (presumably) shortest routes, they will direct you into tiny streets in highly a questionable area - at least while routing you from the airport. I say this as a person who lived in very bad neighborhoods when I was younger, and who has traveled very extensively throughout Europe. Once we thought we had gotten close to the b&b, but were still unable to find it, we called the manager on duty (perhaps an owner?). On foot, she eventually managed to locate us. She was quite friendly and trying to be helpful, but was utterly frenzied and disorganized. She directed us to a place to park our car. This was a small lot or perhaps a mechanics garage parking area. It was run by a very angry man who did not even want to let us park there. Somehow the manager eventually convinced him to allow us to park there. However, we would need to leave the car keys with him. Given the unpleasant neighborhood, our substantial quantity of luggage that we would need to carry to the b&b (which we still had not seen), and the fact that we were not convinced we could even get the car back in order to go to dinner (if ever). We decided not to give our car keys to truly unpleasant and angry man. It was clear that there was nowhere nearby the b&b location to park, and that the manager had completely falsified the situation there. We told her that we would find somewhere else to stay, and asked her to please refund our one-night's deposit. Although she was nice enough at that time, she later refused to return our money. We cannot speak to the actual rooms, but everything else we had been told consisted of complete fabrications and/or exaggerations. I would take the other reviews with a large grain of salt."

"Great location. Huge 'living room'. Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Clean and modern. Lighting was unintuitive. ! Shower in the bedroom! No lobby. Did not use spa but was probably paying for it in the room rate. 'Spa' has no massage service."

Quintocanto Hotel & Spa ★★★★
"Located in the center of Palermo, it is a 10-second walk from the intersection of Via Maqueda and Via Vittorio Emanuele, which are a must-see for tourists. Tourist attractions such as the Royal Palace and the Cathedral are within walking distance, and there are many restaurants around at night, so there was no problem. The hotel is one of the safest in Palermo, as it is a pedestrian zone with constant traffic until late at night. On the other hand, it is lively until late at night, but since my room did not face the main street, it did not bother me. The restaurant, which also serves as the breakfast venue, is spacious and surrounded by a beautiful courtyard, and it was hard to believe that I was in the city center. The Sicilian specialty cannoli and fresh juice at breakfast were delicious. The staff were very kind and quickly responded to requests for moving suitcases and amenities. If you are going to Sicily for the first time, this hotel is highly recommended as a safe and convenient hotel for sightseeing."

"Rooms are big and clean. Pool is not great but nicly located at top floor. What I really fid nit like is how they handle luggage storage. It’s kept in open room close to reception theoretically reception watches over it but when i came to pick up my luggage stuff at front desk was overwhelmed with guests and just walked in took my stuff no questions asked (and people in reception weee different shift that did not know me, so ai would not be v supportive if anyone could walk in and take your luggage)"

"I enjoyed the stay. The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. I enjoyed the location as it was right next to the train station. It was also very close to the morning markets in the area. My only complaint was that our shower wasn't fully tightened and so there was inconsistent water flow through the shower head. Everything else was great however."
