"I had a fantastic experience staying at Tianzhiyi B&B in Zhaoxing Dong Village! The location is perfect, right on the main street, making it very convenient for exploring the village. At night, the observation deck offers stunning panoramic views of the Dong village and its nightscape. The room was clean and tidy, and ours even had a small balcony with a great view. The owner and staff were very welcoming, answering all our questions and recommending nearby itineraries. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Zhaoxing! Highly recommended!"

"A perfect weekend getaway from the bustling city. Tucked away in the mountainous countryside of Guizhou, Zhaoxing Dong Ethnic Minority Village in only three hour ride via high speed train from Guangzhou. The village is quite developed, offering shuttle service to and from the railway station for 10RMB each way. You can also arrange a private ride for 50RMB into the village. The village entrance fee allows 6 days of access into the village for 80RMB. I chose to stay at the Comfort Zhaoxing Inn next to the canola fields, away from the main attractions for a quieter stay. I can see swallows swooping, bugs chirping, and frogs croaking in the fields. My room has floor to ceiling windows offering great views of the mountains, fields, and rice terraces. Remote villages in the mountains are also visible. The inn is ran by a friendly couple. They offer sumptuous breakfast with generous portions. They picked up and assisted with my luggage at the village shuttle station. The village itself is for pedestrian only. They offer complimentary shuttle services every 15-20 minutes that makes various stops if you don’t feel like walking. It was relaxing to stroll along the river and around the village. Instead of taking a shuttle (20RMB round trip) to the rice terraces of TangAn Village, I took the trail that the locals used for centuries before shuttles were available. The trail was paved, crossing creeks, winding through the mountains and rice fields for 7.5km with an elevation gain of about 1,000 meters. The views were spectacular and the food were amazingly delicious and very affordable. I used Zhaoxing Village as a hub for accessing other remote villages. Shuttle buses offering two departures to Huanggang, Basha ethic villages (about an hour ride). Though if there is not enough passengers, they may cancel the service. My stay was memorable, and I plan to go back when the canola flowers are blooming."

"The family drove from Guangdong to Zhaoxing Dongzhai, and specially chose the newly opened Qingxuan residential accommodation in Xiage Village in the scenic area. It was the biggest surprise of this trip. I didn't choose the B&B on the main road of Dongzhai, just wanted to avoid the crowds and noise. It turns out that I chose the right one. The B&B is halfway up the mountain of the terraces. The view is really impeccable. The room is oversized, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides, and the balcony faces the entire terraces and mountains. Early rise terraces morning mist, waiting for the sun to come out after the glow spreads layer by layer of terraces, casually photographed screens completely without filters. I heard from the boss that the homestay has just opened, all the facilities are very new, the sanitation is in place, the beds are dry, the space is open, and the children are not crowded at all. Sitting on the balcony in my leisure time, I looked at the valley terraces quietly, away from the impetuousness of the city, especially healing. The boss is a local or a veteran, treats people really, and will patiently answer any questions. The homestay is not far from the main street of Zhaoxing Dongzhai. It is convenient to visit the scenic spot and enjoy the original ecological scenery. There is also a little friendliness to our new energy car owners. There is a charging pile in the parking lot not far from the homestay. It is still fast to charge. This is really great. If you come to Zhaoxing, you don’t want to squeeze the noisy main street, prefer the beautiful scenery of the terraces, and like clean friends. I recommend this homestay. I will choose this one next time I come to Southeast Guizhou. It’s too healing."
