I learned that the homestay is the boss's family business, rooted in Hengshan from generation to generation, very familiar with the local mountain and Sichuan monuments and mountaineering routes. The location of the homestay is unique, just in the middle of the mountain pavilion, get up early the next day to climb the mountain, save the back and forth at the foot of the mountain. The room was clean and tidy, the mountain was quiet, and the rest quality was very good. The boss is enthusiastic and patient, and can give careful guidance on the problems related to tour and worship. A journey that is casual, and receives unexpected warm courtesy. This small family hotel is perfect for me, with a creative and beautiful decoration at the outside, inside and the rooms too. I like it very much. You stay there and you think you are a part of this family. Very Friendly service and support in every question you have. All this for an absolutely suitable price. Great. The location of the B&B is very close to the temple, just a five-minute walk. Because the room was fully booked that day, the family of three could only book a double room. The extra bed was too hard and too small, not suitable for a family of three adults. The room is clean and hygienic, with a hot spring bath. A small suggestion is that the water in the hot spring bath may not be hot enough in winter, and the water flow is a bit small. It is recommended that it can be optimized later. The food at the B&B is very delicious, all of which are authentic local home-cooked dishes. The vegetables are grown by the owner’s grandmother and are very sweet. There are also very detailed instructions for burning incense, so even beginners can follow the instructions and pray with confidence.

This Airbnb was booked on a really tight deadline (decided Friday night, departure early Saturday morning), but the experience was surprisingly good! It was incredibly thoughtful and the room was clean and tidy, the service was excellent, and the environment was comfortable. The Airbnb is located within the scenic area. A private car picked us up after we arrived at noon. Because our arrival time was a bit inconvenient (1 pm), they even took us to lunch first, and then drove us back to the Airbnb. After dropping off our luggage, we set off on our hike. They even took us to the roadside to wait for the scenic area's shuttle bus. In the evening, we ordered food directly from our phones after descending the mountain, went back to our room to rest, and were called down to the restaurant when dinner was ready. It was fantastic! 👍🏻 The next day, we slept in, had breakfast, and then continued to relax. After checking out at noon, they even took us to a dessert shop (which we found ourselves). Our high-speed train was at 6 pm, and after we finished exploring, they even offered a transfer service to the station! It was amazing and so comfortable. It's especially convenient with kids. I have stayed in many hotels and homestays. This time, Shanshuihe is the best homestay I have ever stayed in. Not only is the room spacious and bright and comfortable, but the housekeeper is also very caring. We set off from Changsha because of repeated delays in the middle of the road. It is expected that the arrival time will be from 2 pm to 2 am. When we arrive at the store, the temperature is relatively cold. The housekeeper will put the hot water in advance when we are about to arrive. It is so intimate. There is a sun-bathing platform and a small courtyard downstairs. No matter which season it comes, it will be very comfortable. I don't want to leave. Environment: It is especially worth mentioning that because this is on the mountain, the stars at night feel right above their heads, and the stars can reach them with their hands. It is perfect.

As I was a solo traveller, he also invited me to eat with him - trying some local dishes and sharing a few beers after. - The owner offered to do a guided tour of some local attractions. - The service is very personalised as there are only 12 rooms, with the owner himself personally serving guests and explaining the history of the local area. __ Property: - The construction is extremely high quality, with Tang-style aesthetic in the rooms, but a modern, western style common area and cafe. Having visited many boutique hotels in more remote areas, emphasis must be placed on the materials, polish and finish - giving a very sleek feel. - There is a good balance of water features, with a fishpond where you can feed fish. - The valley facing rooms have very good framing of the scenery including river and mountains in differing depth peripherals. - The layout, location and surrounding mountainside adds a strong sense of privacy compared to the city. __ Room: - The rooms have high-end Toto bidet toilets. - Rooms are very clean. - The front-desk has different scented candles that can be used in your room. - The furniture and amenities within the room are all brand new and at or above the standard as every 5-star city hotel. __ Food: - The owner kindly covered all 3 meals, of which lunch and dinner were more local, as I was joined by the owner and some staff. All meals are a-la-carte made to order by an in-house chef. - The beef rice noodles with soup was an exceptional breakfast, especially for me who cannot eat very spicy food. (The local cuisine is generally very spicy preference.) - You can pick fresh oranges in the orchard immediately adjacent to the hotel. __ Local Area: - The local area is not as popular for tourism as compared to places like the nearby Zhangjiajie Avatar Mountains. Many attractions are mainly Buddhism related such as temples or a purported 1000 year old Gingko Tree. - The local Mount Heng can be hiked in under 4 hours. - The local city is small and the hotel location is somewhat far from the city centre. __ Overall this hotel provides a very tranquil environment to meditate and destress over tea, while looking at beautiful scenery. For the price point given, it offers a much better value compared to attempting to get the same conditions in the more popular, crowded scenic areas nearby. If visiting the local city or adjacent Hengyang, this hotel is by far the most unique experience, as almost all other high end hotels are just the high-rise business hotel type.

Those who come to climb the mountain can use it! All electrical appliances can be awakened or turned off through the smart housekeeper of the whole house, which saves effort. The toilet and shower are separated from wet and dry, the corners are clean and there are no dead ends, the toilet and blue cleaning liquid make people feel very clean, the toilet has small windows, and the ventilation is very good and there is no smell. In addition, there are TVs, small tables, sinks, lamp mirrors, the equipment is very complete and full of details, just as comfortable as in your own home. The location of the homestay is also super convenient. It is just behind the temple. If you want to burn incense and worship Buddha, you can go to the first floor to find your grandmother to buy incense. The price is really convenient. Because there is a short distance from the main road, the noise is very small, the view outside the window is good, if you come by car, you can contact the boss to reserve a parking space. This price is really the best homestay I have ever stayed in! If I insist on the shortcomings, I can live for a day, and I will have the opportunity to come with my friends in the future, and I will stay here!

There's a pick-up service from the station, which is great and convenient. The bedding is clean and soft, but the duvet cover is a bit noisy; it can wake me up if I turn over. The soundproofing is terrible… not suitable for sensitive people, but you can choose… consider it yourself; even with earplugs, it wasn't very effective… Breakfast… you can choose between noodles or rice noodles, but the portion is a bit small. This guesthouse is about 1.80 RMB per month. If you're considering it during the National Day holiday, I'd suggest a larger hotel would be better, although it's a bit far from the tourist attractions. I can only say that the disposable towels and clean bedding are a big plus. The hairdryer's wires glow red when not on high heat! The smart toilet is great! Overall, it's a mixed bag!
