"The hotel is old but completely renovated. The location is perfect, and the value for money is very good. The pool is very inviting. However, it has two drawbacks: one is the parking area, which is impossible and also a bit unsafe due to theft. But the worst thing of all is a karaoke bar in a run-down shopping center across the street that blasts music all night long. Perhaps it's to attract customers, since there's hardly anyone there, but it's impossible to sleep at night."

"this is the most wonderful relaxing place to stay on holiday, especially for beach lovers. The beach is exquisite and so beautiful..The hotel staff are incredible and can't do enough for you. The rooms are fabulous and your legs will feel stronger at the end of your stay as there are a lot of stairs! 10/10 :)"

"We are currently here now, 3 days into a 7 day stay, and so far it is very disappointing. Upon arrival, after checking in, we were sent off to find our own room, in the dark, with nothing but a very basic map. For a supposed 4 star hotel to have no porter service of any shape is poor. There was also little or no information about meals, hotel, services or anything else for that matter! We got into the room, which in fairness is clean, but very basic. No kettle, no cups, no cutlery of any sort. We enquired at reception if we should have a kettle at least, only to be told we could rent one, and then, snuggly, that if we had booked a seaview room we could have had one free. We actually tried but they were all booked, and still paid extra for a pool access room. I feel for anyone with small kids who need hot water! The next day we visited the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, at the specific time slot we were given ( you are given 45 mins to complete your meal!), and were again disappointed. Now, I have to say that we are observing Lent so not eating meat and fish, but the choice for us was so basic. At breakfast the cereal and crackers were stale, certain items were not replenished (even though we were within our allocated slot), and the fruit juice (out of a machine) was both powdery in taste and sour! Come dinner, and we basically had to eat salad and potatoes (which were warm at best). Again, the choice for vegetarians was virtually non existent, unless you want a heat lamp dried out Margherita pizza! Then the final straw today, prior to our 0915 breakfast slot, the cleaner (male) just walks into our room shouting 'hola', without attempting to knock. My partner is standing in the lounge naked as they do, so she clearly tells him to go away! We proceeded to go out for the day, and come back to find our room still not cleaned. The reception seems to have no interest in your complaints. I have stayed at the Barcelo in Caleta on many occasions, but wanted to try Jamdia for a change, and compared to this it is a palace, even though it's the same star rating. I guess we'll be eating out for the rest of the week!"

"When we arrived at the hotel we were given a very nice, modern hotel room. The balcony was very spacious and the view of the beach was perfect. The quality of food was just OK. If you’ve been to a Riu 5 star, you’ll definitely be able to tell the difference. There elevator was extremely slow and you could be waiting several minutes for one. So if you’re booking, don’t pick a high floor. I’d say 90%+ of the customers are German and in some cases the staff could speak German and not English. Overall, it was very a very pleasant stay and once the weather is good, there is very little to complain about."

"Where do i start with this hotel. Location is good for the beach shops etc. The hotel its self is not so good. THE ROOMS Defo need an upgrade very basic clean but basic only 3 plug sockets in the bedroom 1 is for the fridge one is behind the sofa and the other in-between the 2 single beds so bring an extension lead. The beds and pillows are very comfy. The shower over bath was powerful but you had to be careful as the water got extremely hot then went cold RESTAURANT in our opinion this could of been improved the themed nights weren't very good chinese night was spring rolls and a very watery curry. The Mexican night consisted off deep fried jalapeño and cream cheese. Tortilla chips and tasteless sauces. ENTERTAINMENT only one guy doing all the activities he was quite good tho. BAR STAFF There wasn't enough staff on at the start of the night meaning massive queues quite a few of the young male staff were extremely rude and abrupt particularly elier (think that's how his name was spelt.)On a few occasions he actually argued with us. (Most of the staff were good just the few let your hotel down) We asked for a dissarono and pepsi zero and a bottle off beer to be told only 2 drinks were allowed (I get the rule but when u get a spirit and a mixer you would class that as one drink ) ALL INCLUSIVE PREMIUM we upgraded to premium before we came to get the top shelf drinks and bottles of soft drinks well worth the upgrade. The thing that let this down was the fact you only had 2 places to get your drinks the pool bar till 7 then the entertainment place till 11. No bar in lobby so if bad weather you had to go outside to get a drink. We booked this hotel as we had stayed in the same chain of hotels in gran canaria thinking the food etc would be something similar how wrong we were. Would we return that's a NO"

"At the crystal restaurant, I asked for a litre of sangria. They said that was not available although the bar was only steps away. I ordered the same in Riu Gran Canaria crystal restaurant and they went to the bar to fulfil my request (great service) In the buffet restaurant all the waitresses and most of the waiters were extremely hard-working and amiable. A couple of waiters were not to the required standard or very friendly. "

"We're just back from a wonderful week here. Enormous bed and the kids in a separate sleeping area which has doubles as a living room during the day. Balcony overlooking the pool with a seaview into the distance - bliss! We also had our own private view of the evening entertainment! We got drinks from the bar and took them up to our room and it felt like we were in a VIP box to ourselves enhoying the evening singers. The food is lovely; don't expect an all day breakfast and chips with everything approach! This is not the venue for you if you want a lot of processed beige food and sausages and deep fried rubbish. This hotel offers a huge variety of salads and fresh meat and fish cooked in front of you. Pasta and sauce as well as large tiger prawns and every type of seafood imaginable were available both at lunch and dinner with no repetition at all! The swimming pool is large and there wasa bit of a scramble for pool loungers first thing; but perhaps that's what happens everywhere during peak holiday season? We managed to find 3 loungers with shade for 7 days so not impossible. We loved the fact that this is where the Spanish holiday rather than it being a 'Brits abroad' venue. Everyone is so friendly and there to have fun. Great entertainments team esp the kids club who were so caring and had different activities through the day - 1 in the morning; 1 in the afternoon and 1 at night which were mostly drop offs (instead of parents having to attend as well). What a relaxing week - just what we needed! The kids are already asking when we can return there!"

"The location of hotel appeals to us both we both enjoy cycling, running and walking around this area. This was our second visit and we were amazed at all the staff still there and the fact they remained happy in their employment. The management are always available for contact should you have any issues and they will correct any problems you may incur. I would advise to take the premium upgrade to experience breakfast on the outside deck which on a sunny sunrise morning definitely takes some beating. The buffets served over the festive period on the special evenings were delightful and presented in such a professional manor I have a food allergy and all my no go areas were well documented and no doubts were assured for me to eat without concern. Food staff location will always be a big draw for this boutique venue to be successful staff to mention Sarah, Susan, Juan, Hassan, Andreas, Roseann, housemaids, chefs and kitchen staff. We enjoyed seeing you all again and I apologise if I’ve missed any off the list. Good luck for 2025 keep up the amazing work you all put into to daily routines. Also returning guests year on year is a very positive statement and we will definitely return again and truly appreciate your hospitality given over Christmas & New Year’s."

"We spent 11 nights from March 21st to April 1st 2026. We booked a garden view room on the 3rd floor. On arrival at 11pm there was no food available and the AI had finished. The furnishings in our room were tired and needed updating. We found that there are positive and negative points for this hotel. These are: Positives *Great position for the lovely beach 100m away *Plenty of sunbeds available *The hotel, grounds and public areas are clean *Breakfast was probably the tastiest meal of the day Negatives *Food in the restaurant is very repetitive and poor quality (lunch and evening dinner) pork, chips, overcooked pizza was served most days. Little or no variety for guests. *The hotel snack bar which is by the children’s pool also provided poor quality and unvaried food. *The hotel bar is in a separate building from the hotel. We found it to be an unpleasant dark depressing building. *Typical AI local alcoholic brands drinks poor quality *Many hotel staff that we encountered appeared to be miserable towards us (this maybe because we were British as the vast majority of guests at the hotel were German. The hotel is geared up for German guests. Conclusion In our opinion this is not a 3*plus hotel which the Tui web site states. The sign at the front of the hotel states that it is a 4* hotel. It is at best only a 3* hotel. The negative points stated above far out-way the positive points. If you’re paying for AI then you want much better quality than this hotel provides. We will not be returning to this hotel. Pay a little bit more money and stay at a better quality hotel. This hotel is not worth your hard earned money."
