Premier Inn Matlock ★★★
"Good access as on main road, walkable into Matlock or bus stop outside. Standard room, spacious, comfortable and clean. Bonus was having a bath and shower. Usual Premier Inn facilities in the room which is all you need. Downside was the windows don’t open so have to rely on air conditioning. Breakfast/dining room very pleasant and as breakfast spans a couple of hours there was always space as the staff cleared the tables promptly. It got very hot while we were there and the staff put out glasses and an iced water container on reception, very thoughtful. We would commend all staff that we came in contact with for being approachable, friendly and efficient. We are very happy with what Premier Inn has to offer and will happily book with them again."
High Tor Hotel ★★★
Oakhill ★★★★
"The hotel is not very big, but very warm, the service is warm, and every service staff greets kindly. The breakfast is freshly made and tastes good. The hotel garden is particularly beautiful and I like it very much."
Explorers Retreat Matlock Bath ★★★
"Booked the pirate room for my birthday son and he loved so much . Clean toilet, downtown many restaurants and supermarkets. no hesitated to recommend to anyone."
The Beeley Inn - Chatsworth ★★★★★
"Overall a bit disappointing. We stayed for 2 nights and paid £685 to include one dinner (actually £74 towards dinner) and entrance to Chatsworth House. So overall about £550 for 2 nights bed and breakfast. It’s a premium price but not a premium experience. Good points: breakfast is good and there are premium choices such as eggs Benedict, Royale etc. as well as a very good full English. The bar is great, good beer and not too pricey. Average points: The room was ok, but the bed was quite soft and you felt like you were going to roll onto the floor if on the edge. It was a double so a bit small. (Would have expected. Queen or King). The minibar only had water or a small bottle of milk for tea and coffee. Bad points: The dinner was average. My local pub has better food and more choice. Starters pretty good to be honest (calamari was good and smoked mackerel pate good enough although the sourdough toast was not toast, just bread.) The beef and ale pie was pretty poor. It was filled mostly with gravy and hardly any beef. It was also too salty and the crust not crispy. They tried to charge us for drinks we didn’t have when checking out. Probably an honest mistake and the drinks were taken off the bill but demonstrates some disorganisation. It’s a shame because with a bit of work it could be really good. It’s a great location and lovely inn."
The Fountain Tea Rooms B&B ★★★★
"An excellent short stay in this B&B situated above a tea room in the village of Bonsall. Check-in is a small window of 2 hours between 2 and 4 pm but it does state that you can organise late check-in if you are stuck. Best to avoid the area around the Heights of Abraham when traveling in at the weekend as it gets very busy. We were there just to check out the area for walking and it suited our needs perfectly. The owner greeted us and made sure we settled in and as a bonus, the tea room was still open to allow us to sample their delicious cakes before unpacking. We went to the Kings Head pub for dinner which is a 3-minute walk up the hill and I must say it was a good choice. Another place with great hospitality with a mix of locals and visitors but more importantly good honest grub. Breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had at a B&B it was plentiful and there was no compromise on quality, perfect to fuel us for another day on the hills. Thank you for hosting us and giving us good value for money in an excellent location to explore the Peak District National Park."
Hodgkinsons Hotel Matlock Bath ★★★
New Bath Hotel & Spa, a Member of Radisson Individuals ★★★
"The hotel room services are satisfactory, but the sofa bed is not sleepable!"
Florence Nightingale Suites at Lea Hurst ★★★★
"Svitlana was a wonderful host, very knowledgeable about The Crimean War and she gave us a really insightful tour around the house that was the childhood home of Florence Nightingale. Food was delicious, beautiful full English breakfast in the morning. My partner and I’s bedroom was tidy and very clean. The garden was peaceful, elegant, and well maintained. I have nothing negative to say, it was certainly a beautiful and well needed break in the countryside, in a property rich with British history. -Jack"

The Red Lion
"Fab family run B&B with food and its own brewery - Moot Ales. We stayed 3 nights and explored the local area. Room was comfy and warm and noise from downstairs was minimal and didn’t disturb our sleep. The locals were lovely chatting to us in the bar. We will definitely come back next time we are in the area."
The Gables Bed & Breakfast
"What a fantastic place! Owners, Sue and John, were so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are beautifully and individually decorated and had everything you could need, including a fridge, which was topped up daily with fresh milk and water. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, and freshly cooked as you ordered. Will definitely be going back. "
Glendon Bed and Breakfast
Ashdale Guesthouse
"What a gem we found. Right in the heart of Matlock Bath, the location was perfect, nothing was too far. Paula and Shaun (and Ralph and Ernie!) we’re the perfect hosts, so warm and welcoming. The room was beautiful, with the most comfy bed, I didn’t want to get up in the morning. Lovely modern bathroom. The place was spotless throughout. Home cooked breakfast was also top notch. We’ve visited Matlock bath many times but never stayed over, I’m so glad we found this place, I would definitely return and 100% recommend this place. Cara & Glynn."
Poacher's Rest
The Old Lockup
"Quiet small Victorian hotel with unique set of rooms provides a charming experience. Rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order which is a nice touch alongside the friendly atmosphere. Wirksworth provides sufficient amenities and food outlets to enjoy locally."
