Delightful comfortable room with a host that always makes me feel welcome when I stay. The room was clean and cozy, the bed linens with a high thread count making them a dream to sleep on. Plenty of hot water and nice toiletries in the shower. Possibly the best guest house breakfast ever with homemade bread, good quality bacon amd sausage and proper coffee.

Our stay at the lockup was great Tim was a great host and the breakfast was A1 the room was very comfortable and warm and cosy. If we are in the vicinity again I would certainly stay again.
First class had a great time even the weather didn't spoil it.

Really interesting place. Lovely and warm on a cold couple of days. Good location with pubs and shop within easy walking distance. Good breakfast. Good value for money. Would recommend.

The room was great: clean and comfortable with a shower room, little fridge and TV as you'd hope for. I stayed two nights and had full English breakfast both mornings which was cooked to perfection. :) The weekend was a busy one for Tim as it was also the Wirksworth Festival but he was helpful and as accommodating as if nothing else was going on! I had my dog with me and she was made welcome and enjoyed the stay too! I'd highly recommend this venue.

Enjoyed the Four nights wonderful stay. Close to everything including the bus Stop where you can explore all the surrounding small villages. Very close to the steam train, which is a must do. Rooms are large and cosy with all the amenities that you would need. We will definitely be back. Tim was a great host breakfast was excellent.

Stayed in the magistrates room which as described very qwerky,fabulous room and a fabulous building in all, a step back in time, Tim is a great host and unbelievable chef, his breakfasts definitely 10/10, look forward to staying there again soon,no complaints whatsoever, cheers Tim, Dawn &Dave

Tim was an excellent host, Location was brilliant for exploring Matlock and Matlock Bath, Wirksworth is a great little village within walking distance, Lovely comfy clean room in a former police station, The breakfast was 100%, Added bonus it was dog friendly, not allowed in the dining room which I fully understand, Would highly recommend

Love how the history of building is still around and left on display and whole town is peaceful and historic. Have plenty of walks near by and good range of shops and restaurants in walking distance

10/10 would recommend. I’d like to stay there again someday. Everything you need is provided. The owner is responsible and good people. Very satisfied.
