Nice hotel, but overrated. I have stayed in four- and five-star hotels in the past. For the price and the hype of the Edgewater, this is not one of them. The view of Lake Mendota was beautiful. The room was very clean and housekeeping was efficient and fast. The hotel simply did not provide the "extras" I would associate with a high-class hotel. The front-desk service was polite. The gave minimal information at check-in, no bellhop offered. The room was a standard hotel room. Coffee pot was small and provided two cups per day. No hotel guide (checkout time, locations of pool, etc), no safe, no minibar, paper cups instead of real glasses, no turndown service. Hotel has been renovated as it is an old property. However, I felt like the exercise room and spa pool was in a dungeon; they are located in the basement of one of the buildings with no windows. There was water damage and paint coming off the walls, ceilings here were concrete and damaged. If I were paying for a mid-grade, standard hotel room, this hotel would have been acceptable. For the price I paid, I expected much more.

The Madison Concourse Hotel is an excellent choice for anyone visitng Madison! Whether you are there for business or pleasure, it is a superior hotel in a great location. Situated across the street form the capital building, there are multiple restaurants, night life, and just a few blocks to the UW-Madison campus. The staff is freindly and helpful, the ammenities are excellent, and if you have the opportunity to stay on a floor with access to the Governor's Club, take it! The staff and extra perks are well worth it!

The warm and lovely layout of the lobby makes you feel at home. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and have good sanitary conditions. Located in downtown Madison, the hotel is less than a ten minute walk from the State Capitol, but parking is subject to an additional charge. The breakfast restaurant is very spacious, but the quantity and quality of the breakfast food is average.

I spent about 2 weeks because of a hospitalized family member. I was very stressed at the time. I asked for the darkest and quietest room and received it. Christopher greeted me each evening. He was attentive to my situation and showed compassion. Garry was always there to lighten the mood and keep the water hot for tea. Sandra was a bright light. The breakfast staff were friendly and efficient. The beds were heavenly, rooms spotless and water hot, Highly recommend.

Nice room Clean. Decent location. Staff was fine. BUT... There were three things that made this room unacceptable, at least for us. 1. The bathroom is at the foot of the bed. Fine. But the door is semi-opaque glass. If the door is open (so someone can enter quietly while the other is sleeping), there is a small, unremovable night light that shines into the room. But that is not the worst part. If someone enters the bathroom, closes the door and turns on the light in the bathroom, that semi-opaque door acts as a very bright headlight on the bed. I woke my wife up. Terrible design. 2. The bathroom lacks a fan. Bathroom fans serve three purposes: removing humidity, removing smell and masking noise. The room has good air exchange so, surprisingly, the fan is unnecessary for humidity removal. But the other two purposes (particularly the third) are not filled by the air exchanger. 3. The temperatuire. The room was hot. The thermostat said it was 67 degrees. I am not sure I believe it. However, 67 is as low as it goes, and that is not acceptable for us. My wife is 61 and she gets hot at night. At home, we keep the temperature significantly lower at night, summer and winter. It might have worked if there was some air movement (e.g., a fan or a window that opens). There was not. When you pay over $200 for a room, at a minimum, you should have some temperature control. Finally, I was disappoiinted that the booking person failed to tell us about a $15 psrking charge when reserving the room by phone. We likely would have booked the room anyway, but we should not be surprised. I assumed in a remote area of a small city like Madison, parking would have been free. I want to like this room. We generally limit our stays to Marriott brand hotels. I like the small private work area of SpringHill Suites. The bed is comfortable. Unfortuantely, however, this appears to be the current standard design for SpringHill Suites. I doubt we will be booking them in the futire.

The pool area was disgusting. When I say disgusting, I don't mean just a little dirty. There was a pile of human feces in the back corner of the pool area (no, I'm not exaggerating). The floors were visibly dirty, the tables were covered with old towels and food people had brought in (as a person with food allergies, this disturbs me and I didn't feel like I could sit down anywhere because every table had crumbs), it looked like it hadn't even had a basic wipe down all day long. They also ran out of pool towels because no one was checking. The guest room was not very comfortable, it was very squished and even though we asked for an accessible room the toilet was VERY low to the ground, so low that my elderly mother had to go to the downstairs public bathroom to use that toilet because she could not get up from the one in the room. The shower HOT/COLD label was backwards and it did not drain properly. I will say that the room itself was very clean, kudos to the staff that cleans rooms! The front desk was very friendly and inviting which is why the scores are all over the place. I appreciated their assistance anytime I asked for help, even if they could not accommodate (bathroom issue). Departure was a breeze, breakfast (although I didn't eat it because of the above mentioned food allergies) looked inviting and my family said it was very good. Other than the customer service and room cleanliness which were both very good, I'm disappointed in Radisson. I travel multiple times a month for work and Radisson is not usually a chain I stay with. Because this was a family trip I decided to give it a try, unfortunately for the cost of the stay and how it ended up, I feel as if the price was not worth the visit. I hope they were just having a bad day.

The location of this hotel is great. Just in downtown. There are many restaurants within three to four minutes walking distance, and it is also very close to the lake. There are several supermarkets around, and the fresh market is only four or five minutes' walk away. It is 3-5 minutes walk from the bus station. The towels are white and the thick soft towels that Americans like to use, which is very comfortable. The sheets and pillowcases were white and clean. Lotion and shampoos are the same brand used in a five-star hotel in Shanghai. Breakfast and coffee on the lower floor. The bath water was super hot and comfortable. Of course, like other foreign hotels, toothbrushes, toothpaste and slippers are not provided. This is expected so I prepared it in advance. All the hotel staff were very friendly and would be happy to help. Booked on Ctrip. Very convenient. Next time I go to this hotel!

I recently stayed for a college bowling tournament. The hotel was full because of a Badger game but never seemed crowded. Staff I encountered were very nice but I can't imagine having to deal with the numerous customer complaints they must receive. Positives: Great rate with our group, easy check-in, beautiful lobby/hallways, clean room, large counter in the bathroom (one sink did not bother me), shower had great water pressure, convenient location to shopping and restaurants. Negatives: Air conditioning had been turned off, so only heat blowing into an already warm space (maintenance man very upset about it/opened our window for us so we could get some air), expensive breakfast buffet when compared with quality, buffet opened 25 minutes late (had to go to Starbucks), mattress was very hard, bathtub/shower seemed much smaller than usual, slow wi-fi even though I have member status, computer in the lobby uses Internet Explorer so none of my Google accounts would work (welcome to the year 2000), pool right in lobby which seemed very awkward. I would only stay here again if I had no other choice. I felt bad for my friends who had a room with a window only into the lobby--no natural light and no way to cool the room. Don't be fooled by the lobby--book a room somewhere else.

The property itself could use some updates and maybe a deep clean but overall for the price I have no complaints. I needed help finding a local restaurant to eat at and of course my phone was dead and I forgot my charger. The woman attending guests at the front desk went out of her way no not only help me find a place to eat but also loan me her charger so I could charge my phone. The customer service was very fast and friendly. I highly recommend you don't judge a book by is cover and give this place a chance. I Glad I did!

Greeted with bad potholes in the parking lot. There seemed to be a lack of security. There appeared to be only one person working in the entire building which may be part of the problem. The hallways had food matter crunched into the flooring that was never cleaned while we were there. The ultimate issue was upholstery and mattress stains. This made us absolutely dread going to bed or spend time in the room. There were some functionality issues too. We had issues with the keycard. There were outlet covers that were missing. The toilet water level was very high and nearly overflowed. The breakfast was nonexistent. There was coffee or tea, zero food. We have been happy with other Super 8 locations but Madison East needs a lot of improvement.

So, I like to find a positive in everything. The shower had good water pressure. Other than that, this room was really terrible. The minute I walked in I almost turned around and left but there was literally no other hotel availability in the area due to some big company annual meeting going on. If I had it to do over again, I would go to the airport to sleep on the floor. It reeked like cigarette smoke. The carpet on the far side of the bed had not been vacuumed. There was a previous guest's garbage that had fallen behind the nightstand and not been removed. I could hear the guest above me walking around all night. The air conditioning unit in the "fitness center" had been ripped of the wall and there were two old dilapidated elliptical machines that literally looked like they had been obtained by dumpster diving. Both had what appeared to be spilled sticky soda all over them. There was wallpaper border peeling off the wall, the ceiling in the bathroom had mold on it and the grout in the shower was filthy. When I left my room in the morning, I was greeted with a horrific sewage smell and found a few doors down that there was - what I presume to be toilet water - gushing out of a guest room. Gross!!!!!

I stayed at the other AmericInn the last time we migrated north. Accidentally booked this one - good online rate. Even though it is not as convenient to the interstate this was a 5 star stay. The rooms are spacious and quiet. Comfy beds, lots of pillows. New carpets. Tiled hallways feel cleaner to me than carpet. Micro, fridge, coffee maker, blow dryer and iron in room. Paid laundry room available. Parking lot is spread out so plenty of spots. And the breakfast………. We have had one complimentary breakfast that we can remember that was better than this one. And that was at Disney. It is phenomenal. Everything you could want in a hot/cold breakfast buffet was here. This is an excellent property. I highly recommend and would stay here again.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites Madison West prior to UW Madison winter graduation on December 18, 2021. After checking in our teenage daughters found bedbugs in their bed in room 3017. We were given a different room for the night and we spent several hours washing clothes and inspecting suitcases and the new room. It was very late we did not have an option to leave the hotel. When checking out the manager offered us a refund (which we did not request) if bedbugs were found by the exterminator. We finally received a report on December 31 from Eliminator Pest Control with an address in Cross Plains, WI. The email referenced another room but the invoice referenced the correct room, 3017. The invoice says that no bugs were found. Our concern is that the bedbugs were clearly present in our room (see attached pictures) and possibly others as the email referenced a different room and that the exterminator or management performed an inadequate inspection. I would avoid this hotel at all costs until the facility is thoroughly treated for bugs.

I think the main reason is the good location, in the city, very close to the airport. There are refrigerators and microwave ovens, so you can buy things yourself and simply make something to eat. Hot water is available throughout the day. Hygiene and service have nothing to say, breakfast is also ok.

Nice hotel, but overrated. I have stayed in four- and five-star hotels in the past. For the price and the hype of the Edgewater, this is not one of them. The view of Lake Mendota was beautiful. The room was very clean and housekeeping was efficient and fast. The hotel simply did not provide the "extras" I would associate with a high-class hotel. The front-desk service was polite. The gave minimal information at check-in, no bellhop offered. The room was a standard hotel room. Coffee pot was small and provided two cups per day. No hotel guide (checkout time, locations of pool, etc), no safe, no minibar, paper cups instead of real glasses, no turndown service. Hotel has been renovated as it is an old property. However, I felt like the exercise room and spa pool was in a dungeon; they are located in the basement of one of the buildings with no windows. There was water damage and paint coming off the walls, ceilings here were concrete and damaged. If I were paying for a mid-grade, standard hotel room, this hotel would have been acceptable. For the price I paid, I expected much more.

The Madison Concourse Hotel is an excellent choice for anyone visitng Madison! Whether you are there for business or pleasure, it is a superior hotel in a great location. Situated across the street form the capital building, there are multiple restaurants, night life, and just a few blocks to the UW-Madison campus. The staff is freindly and helpful, the ammenities are excellent, and if you have the opportunity to stay on a floor with access to the Governor's Club, take it! The staff and extra perks are well worth it!

The pool area was disgusting. When I say disgusting, I don't mean just a little dirty. There was a pile of human feces in the back corner of the pool area (no, I'm not exaggerating). The floors were visibly dirty, the tables were covered with old towels and food people had brought in (as a person with food allergies, this disturbs me and I didn't feel like I could sit down anywhere because every table had crumbs), it looked like it hadn't even had a basic wipe down all day long. They also ran out of pool towels because no one was checking. The guest room was not very comfortable, it was very squished and even though we asked for an accessible room the toilet was VERY low to the ground, so low that my elderly mother had to go to the downstairs public bathroom to use that toilet because she could not get up from the one in the room. The shower HOT/COLD label was backwards and it did not drain properly. I will say that the room itself was very clean, kudos to the staff that cleans rooms! The front desk was very friendly and inviting which is why the scores are all over the place. I appreciated their assistance anytime I asked for help, even if they could not accommodate (bathroom issue). Departure was a breeze, breakfast (although I didn't eat it because of the above mentioned food allergies) looked inviting and my family said it was very good. Other than the customer service and room cleanliness which were both very good, I'm disappointed in Radisson. I travel multiple times a month for work and Radisson is not usually a chain I stay with. Because this was a family trip I decided to give it a try, unfortunately for the cost of the stay and how it ended up, I feel as if the price was not worth the visit. I hope they were just having a bad day.
