"We were three friends from New Zealand and stayed at Regenta for two nights. The place was nice and the room was comfortable. The staff set up an extra cot for us so we were all able to stay in the same room which was great. The place is a mix of old charm and affordable accom and we thought it was good value. The staff were super helpful and attentive. They arranged quick laundry service for us, and even got us a pack of playing cards to be delivered to the hotel. The manager also gave us advice advice about getting an Indian phone number, where to get coffee and info about navigating the train station. He also gifted us some guides about lucknow and Varanasi, where we were headed to next. We appreciated the late checkout and the hotel kindly stored our bags for our late train too. Great stay!"

I would rate it around 3. 5 stars out of 5, mainly due to the food hygiene and cleanliness standards, which were generally good but not without areas for improvement. The hotel’s cleanliness was commendable. The rooms were tidy, and housekeeping did a decent job of maintaining the space throughout my stay. The bed linens were clean, and the bathroom was functional, although a little more attention to detail in cleaning around the corners would have been appreciated. When it comes to food hygiene, the buffet spread was quite impressive, offering a range of local and international dishes. However, i noticed that some of the food items could have been fresher. The presentation of the food was good, but certain dishes seemed to lack the desired temperature, which could be a concern for food safety. I appreciated that the staff followed basic hygiene protocols, but the overall food experience left a little to be desired in terms of variety and freshness. In conclusion, while the golden orchid hotel offers a decent stay with solid cleanliness and food options, there's still room for improvement in both areas to make it truly outstanding."
