"Excellent service and attention. We had a problem with the house where we were staying, so we had to book two nights in a smaller room. It's very well laid out; we are two adults and a baby, and they provided a crib for him. My only suggestion would be to install a baseboard or small barrier between the shower stall and the rest of the bathroom, because it floods otherwise. With a baseboard of about 3 cm, I think it would withstand the overflow. I understand this happens in several rooms because I heard another guest mention it."

"Bahia Vik is a really beautiful and luxurious experience. The place located right at the beach with gorgeous views of the village of Jose Ignacio and sand dunes. At this time of the year is perfect to enjoy the views while reading, walking thru the beach and all along the cost filled with amazing size rocks. You can also go bicycle riding all around and discover the gorgeous town of Jose Ignacio. Buffet breakfast in Bahia Vik is a really tasty experience of fresh fruits, juices, delicious pastries, sandwiches, croissants, great coffee and tea selection. For those keen on exercise and movement Bahia Vik offers yoga, pilates and strength gym, a complete experience not to be missed!"

"We stayed at Playa Vik for 3 nights just as the summer season was opening in early/ mid December, an easy and fun hire car drive from Montevideo. The weather was just settling and Jose Ignacio was still moderately quiet; apparently from Christmas through January it's absolutely rammed. We absolutely loved our stay in a superior first floor suite that was huge and had superb views over the beautiful infinity pool and huge sandy crescent beach. We found the staff friendly and excellent; we contacted the concierge before our stay to book activities and make reservations at the best local restaurants, which were all busy. The three VIKs are a very impressive offering and combination which were unknown to us until recommended by our agent, Wimeya Private Travel. Playa is excellent to stay, smaller and a little more boutiquey than Bahia which is 15 minutes walk along the beach. Bahia is spectacular, larger and lively with a superbly located, hugely popular beach restaurant, La Susana. A real gem is Estancia Vik, 20 minutes drive away, where we had a great day being shown round the House by the lovely Gaucho Manager, the stables and the horses and kayaking on the water. Staying here would be a lovely combo/contrast with Playa. All in all, a wonderful stay in a location that's hugely popular, but little known /frequented by Brits; if you have a car don't miss short drives to the Lagoon and to the village of Pueblo Garzon"

"What a wonderful time we had at Estancia ViK - a top destination, led by the welcoming and fabulous Coco and her team, who make each day special! Great professionals, who go above and beyond for guests - thank you Franco, Sol, Ludmila…. What can we say other than it was a TRULY GREAT experience. The setting of the sweeping plains, awash with horses, is etched on our memories forever! The food, led by the dynamic team of chefs is also first- class. We had the best time! Five star and beyond. "This was one of our favourite hotels in Uruguay. You really felt at home in the elegant and welcoming space. The staff were fantastic, the hotel is managed very very well. The rooms and public spaces were very clean and well thought out. There is French press coffee in your room, and the breakfast is delicious and extensive. Do have some medialunas (little croissants), with your coffee. You are close to the swimmable beach, bikes available to zip into town for an icecream or go watch the fisherman come in on their kayaks loaded with fish a few streets down. A very enjoyable experience and we will be back again. The Sky Space art installation is an incredible experience. It happens at sunset, free to hotel guests, 40 minutes long, do lie on your back with a sheepskin and take it all in."
