"Location is great as long as you are not looking for a place nearby restaurant and shops, but at the opposite, a particularly relaxing atmosphere with a great view. Room, swimming pool, dive club, beach are all in good conditions. Food wise, you have many good options. Staff are pleasant and have been efficient at solving one problem in our room. Nice gesture from the hotel, a free of charge new year eve buffet + live band + firework. Ok, we most likely paid it in our room rate, but honestly speaking price was reasonable especially since our room was able to accommodate 4 guests into 2 different rooms with its own bathroom, and breakfast was included. It's sufficiently rare to be mention. Too many hotels are charging scandalous price for Christmas of New Year. Not the spirit at Casalay. Last but not least, kudos for the dive school. Very professional, especially to get your Padi. They don't compromise at all, it is very reassuring. We'll possibly be back if we happen to visit Puerto Galera again."

"We chose this place by reviews and for its location. When we arrived we had to sign an agreement with the property rules which are in abundance: from “no outside food or drinks at the property” to fines for stained towels and sheets. Though there are “shhh” signs everywhere I woke up both mornings of our stay because someone was walking and talking loudly right outside our door. The room is really small close to tiny, there’s no fridge (ok, that’s the type of room without one), the safe didn’t work but the friendly and helpful staff kindly stored our valuables in theirs. The place is beautifully located and the food is ok."

"Let's go in order) Pros: + Incredibly polite staff and owner. Helped organize excursions, order a taxi and resolve any issues, provided a transfer from the hotel, brought everything you need before your vacation. Even helped buy a ferry ticket in advance! Simply perfect staff, I have never seen such service in any hotel)) + You can always call reception from the hotel, and you can easily catch any in the city back + The beach is 5 steps away, especially if you take a room on the 1st floor with a sea view, you can walk barefoot from your room to the beach in a few steps + We only saw one or two couples occasionally from the guests and that's it, as if the hotel was just for us Cons: - [ ] I would like sun loungers on the beach and by the pool, where you can lie down (with an umbrella). Now they provide beach chairs, but you can't sit on them for long, and in principle, if you take a room not on the 1st floor with a sea view, you can only sit on beach chairs on the hotel grounds (upon request). This also needs to be improved) - [ ] The room is new, everything is nice, new, but there was no refrigerator, safe, wardrobe. Despite the fact that there is enough space in the room for all these amenities) - [ ] Breakfast is not a buffet, only 3 types, scrambled eggs with bacon, beef and pork. In principle, we are not picky, it is enough for us, but those who stay here for a longer time will go crazy from such a choice (but we found a very tasty cafe with breakfasts, though you need to walk a little, more on it below) - The hotel is on a steep descent, walking up the mountain is a bit of a sporting activity) but there is nothing near the hotel (except for 1 cafe in km Bayview, with the only normal coffee on the island (from a coffee machine) and the most delicious chicken sandwich in the world!!!) and so, only the road along which you can walk a little, and then there are already a lot of cars and serpentines, you will not be able to go along it, since there are no paths for people. Therefore, either sit in the hotel, or take a tuk-tuk and go to neighboring settlements, which costs from 300₽ to 600₽ depending on where you are going) And so everything is super, thanks to the owner"

"Absolutely cannot recommend this place highly enough. It's a litte further down the sea front but tucked away from the noise while still being right on the water. The room was immaculate and spacious, cleaned everyday and (surprisingly) mosquito-free. The resaurant offers fantastic food at a great price and the whole place has a family run vibe. And it's this that I rate so highly about the place. I was solo travelling over the Christmas holiday and the ladies that run the hotel were so so welcoming and friendly.They offered for me to join their Christmas dinner and kept breakfast open to me 15-20 minutes late so I could catch the 9am dive and still eat when I came back. They were all so lovely, it didn't feel like I was alone over the festive period. If I am ever to visit PG again, I'll 100% be staying at Out of the Blue. "The resort is nestled in a quiet harbour within a small village just a short distance from Puerto Galera — you can reach the town in about 10 minutes by tricycle for 50 pesos. The property sits right on the waterfront, with its courtyard opening directly onto the bay. The setting is incredibly serene, cosy and picturesque. The grounds feature plenty of relaxing spots: comfortable chairs, sun loungers and hammocks where you can unwind. We especially loved the chair near the large tree — it was the perfect place to relax! The sea near the resort is a bit murky due to local currents, so not many people swim here. However, this isn’t an issue at all, as you can quickly and affordably reach the stunning beaches of Sabang (I highly recommend La Laguna) by tricycle — or even on foot if you’re up for a walk. During low tide, you can explore the seabed right near the hotel. The resort also has a small swimming pool, and despite other guests staying there, we never had any trouble finding space to take a dip. The rooms are clean and well‑maintained, featuring a small kitchenette, stylish bathrooms and even a bathtub. We stayed on the ground floor, so we occasionally noticed small ants and once spotted a gecko — but they never caused any inconvenience. Please note that the air conditioning is rather weak, so the room might feel a bit stuffy or not quite cool enough at times. There’s both a ceiling fan and a standing fan available, though, and overall the accommodation was comfortable. The on‑site restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes for breakfast and other meals, with prices typical for a resort area. We were very pleased with the food. The staff are attentive, always smiling and eager to help. During our week‑long stay, the resort wasn’t crowded, which made for a truly relaxing experience — you really get what you came for. Occasionally, local guests can be a bit noisy, laughing loudly or singing karaoke, which might disturb your sleep or meditation. However, this is not the resort’s fault, and it’s still relatively quiet compared to other spots around Puerto Galera, such as White Beach. What could be improved: 1) Flip‑flops. It’s odd that a seaside resort doesn’t offer free flip‑flops like most similar places do — they only rent them out here. Even budget hotels usually provide this small convenience. 2) Charge for outside food. Corkage fees are normal, but charging an extra 150 pesos for any outside food is too much. Even though we weren’t charged, the mere existence of such a rule makes the resort look stingy. This rule should be removed. 3) Wi-Fi was dead almost all of the time. Don’t rely on it. Thanks to the Blue Crystal Resort for a nice stay! I highly recommend it."

"Excellent facilities if you book à ocean view room. Room is spacious and comfortable and the view is stunning . Negative point is the other customers arriving drunk at midnight with their “comforts” screaming and making lots of noise in the balcony and corridor . During Check-in the staff had a bit of trouble as we canceled the previous reservation of standard room and upgraded to Ocean View and we had to insist and show the voucher that we had an Ocean View . Shower box was missing a door and because of that the Water would go all over the toilet . ***** Bring your own toiletries . Staff was kind and friendly and the swimming pool is very nice . I didn’t try breakfast but lunch was good at the restaurant attached to the hotel."

"This hotel is very new and somewhat inconvenient. It is high on a hill which was not very accessible by walking as major roadworks complicated the route and also slowed traffic up and down. While only 10 minutes away from the main Sabang area (climbing down), the climb up made it unpleasant and inconvenient either on foot or in a vehicle. The room was simple with limited facilities (no fridge or TV) and not competitively priced compared to other hotels in the area. Breakfast was spam and rice. The pool area was unwelcoming (exposed and bare of furniture). Service and support is pleasant but minimal. The place was empty and a little sad when we stayed (even though the town was busy). We were quite glad to leave. I think the place needs development and is a work in progress and when ready, it might be nice, but not yet."
