Hotels with WiFi in Tioman

"Upon exiting the ferry in Tekek village, a bus was waiting to transport tourists. Check-in at the hotel went smoothly; our two connecting rooms matched the booked criteria, located on the ground floor of a two-story bungalow with a garden view. Housekeeping always occurred at the same time, which was very convenient, but there was an issue with towel replenishment. We often had to seek out staff and ask for them, though eventually, they started bringing even more than we needed. Water is refilled promptly, and if more is required, it's provided without any problems. The hotel always has a shortage of beach towels, and they only become available for distribution from 9 AM onwards, which is quite inconvenient. The beach bar also starts operating at 5 PM, which is a bit odd. The breakfast buffet in the main restaurant offers a wide variety of choices. You can also order lunch and dinner from the menu at the hotel; prices are reasonable, and they don't overdo it with spices. The second restaurant (Indian) is completely closed. Opposite Berjaya, there's a small island where you can book a snorkeling boat trip to explore the underwater world. There weren't many live corals, but plenty of beautiful fish. However, we preferred snorkeling under the boat departure pier, where there were many schools of fish and small sharks in the shallows. Monkeys frequently visit the hotel grounds, bungalows, and beach; they are very curious but not aggressive. We also saw monitor lizards. The nature of Tioman and the gentle, secluded sea were very impressive. Sandflies were an issue; nothing we brought from home helped. We bought local spray at the hotel, which reduced the bites, but the healing process only truly began when we got home. The hotel has a gorgeous property and a large beach area. The rooms are in need of renovation; everything feels a bit tired, but functional. The staff are responsive and polite."

"The rooms are clean and relaxing, with many decorations and items made from local, handcrafted materials, which is both eco-friendly and gives the hotel its unique character. The hotel owner and staff are polite and sincere, without any noticeable commercial vibe. The natural environment is quiet and pristine, and the hotel blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Most guests here are couples enjoying their time together; we were the only ones with children during our three-day stay. We really loved this quiet, non-commercial holiday environment. January is monsoon season, so the winds and waves were strong. We tried snorkeling on two mornings, but it wasn't amazing. The ecosystem here isn't as vibrant as in Mataking, Semporna; we didn't see as many types of fish, and there were more rocks, making the snorkeling environment less friendly than Mataking. However, the hotel stay itself was truly comfortable, and we felt the energy of nature – a great opportunity to relax. The staff and owner were fantastic and even personally picked us up and dropped us off at the pier. Their service felt genuinely sincere, unlike Semporna, where there's a strong commercial atmosphere, and you don't feel the same genuine human interaction, but rather more commercialism, and the room rates are many times higher without the corresponding service quality. We love this kind of hotel vacation experience. It's filled with the scent of nature everywhere, with streams flowing through the rainforest, integrating the hotel with the sea – a resort that has both mountains and the ocean. Friendly tip: The hotel carefully prepares all three meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The food provided is consistently delicious, and although the prices are not cheap, it's worth it."

"Our room directly faced the ocean, and it was absolutely stunning! The hotel assigned us room A001, which was the closest to the front desk, saving my elderly parents the hassle of walking too far. You could go snorkeling and see fish right outside the door. Equipment rental was 15 MYR per day, so you didn't need to bring anything. We booked the 12 PM boat departure. After checking out at 11:30 AM, we went to the pier and saw sharks and lots of fish. The sea was incredibly beautiful! Next time, if I have more time, I'll definitely stay on the island for a few more days. Also, a big shout-out to the hotel's seafood restaurant – it was delicious and not expensive! Highly recommended!"

"First of all, I want to thank every staff member at Tunamaya for their hospitality, professionalism, and attentive service to guests. Secondly, I'd like to express my gratitude to the wonderful chefs who cooked absolutely everything deliciously! Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy fresh, grilled seafood! Thank you for the themed evenings; you truly aimed to surprise us, and you succeeded! I wholeheartedly wish you prosperity and many more grateful tourists. Now, let me tell you about our stay. A vacation at Tunamaya isn't what you'd call a typical beach holiday, as popular with Russian tourists. But, of course, people don't come to Tioman for that anyway. The nature here is incredibly beautiful, with views of the jungle and mountains – every time I walked to the restaurant from our bungalow, my heart soared with gratitude and awe at the beauty! It truly is a vacation for the soul! The resort also offers diving and snorkeling equipment, a glass-bottom boat, and kayaks. There's an outdoor sports area where my husband exercised daily. And, of course, the cool, scenic poolside overlooking the sea was a great pleasure. We also discovered a beach near and beyond the second, currently inactive pier. It's perfectly fine for swimming in clear water and taking beautiful photos. The views of the massive boulders and monoliths reminded us of the Seychelles, only the sea there was always calm. My husband and elder son also hiked through the village to the waterfall, bringing back many beautiful photos and impressions! As for suggestions – I'd recommend sprucing up and beautifying the grounds. Some railings along the beach path are broken, and there are old pieces of furniture lying around. I also wasn't very pleased with the condition of the toilet near the pool; I sincerely hope you find the means to do some cosmetic renovations there. A pleasant bonus of being on the island was encountering the mischievous monkeys and monitor lizards. Despite the repellents, they found ways to roam the grounds, and that's wonderful because we are guests in their home! They are the true aboriginals of Tioman. Once again, thank you, Tunamaya, for a fantastic vacation! Wishing you prosperity!!!"

"We had a great stay at this resort in Genting, Tioman Island. The best part was that our room had direct access to the beach, and the surroundings were peaceful and quiet. It’s an ideal place for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with a traditional kampung vibe. One downside was that there were quite a lot of ants in the room, but I suppose that’s fairly common on a tropical island. Genting itself is very quiet and doesn’t have much to offer. If you want to join snorkeling or diving trips, they usually require a minimum of six participants. We were traveling with a child and wanted to go snorkeling, and the resort staff went the extra mile to make it happen by arranging for us to join guests from another resort. We really appreciated their effort. If you’re looking for more activities or dining options, you can take a scenic 30-minute walk through the jungle to Paya Village, which is much livelier. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay. The friendly and helpful staff made a big difference"

"Location : super private, very clean and very well kept. Staff service : friendly, attentive. Shout out to Rudra, Pika, Afiq, and their kitchen crew Wani. they say that the people is the heart and soul of the brand and it reflects immensely in the boathouse. Even the director of operations took his rounds to walk and chatted us up. Thank you Thevan. Room : very new and clean tho sound insulation is abit of an issue. But it’s all good. Internet : good and stable. This part of the island cuts off coverage if you have a local sim. Amenities : For now, it’s just jungle tracking with ATV or island hopping/diving. What can be improved : 1. perhaps more upbeat music at the bar area for people to let loose. 2. weekends when there are more people, a fire performance or a light show/drone or something. So that there is a slight group entertainment. 3. Pier could be abit more lighted to see the sea during the night."

"This hotel never failed me, we had enjoyed the stays there. The hotel is quite a distance from the town (20mins taxi ride, but we enjoyed the scenery along the way). The hotel is not crowded, u can fully relax and enjoy the breeze without the crowds. The room is can consider clean, 2 queen size beds in a room are for my children. I asked for an extra mattress which charged me rm50 per night, I have encountered bed bugs sleeping on the mattress(but my two children beds are clean, they did not have the issue of bed bug). The hotel serve nice food, but a bit pricey. However, there are Malay stalls nearby which charged slightly cheaper and the food taste good as well. The hotel provides sea sports like snorkeling, diving, volleyball, jungle trekking, and there are band playing music (not during Ramadan). We will definitely come back."

"I recently had the pleasure of staying at B&J Tioman Dive Resort on Tioman Island, and the experience exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived until the day I left, it was clear why B&J has built such a strong reputation among divers and travelers alike. One of the first things that impressed me was the cleanliness of the accommodation. The room was well-maintained, comfortable, and spotless throughout my stay. Housekeeping standards were consistently high, making it easy to relax after a day of diving and exploration. The resort grounds were also kept clean and tidy, creating a welcoming and pleasant environment that reflected the professionalism of the entire team. What truly made the experience special, however, was the people. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, approachable, and genuinely eager to help. Whether it was assistance at the reception, advice on local activities, or help with dive logistics, the team always greeted guests with a smile. The dive instructors and divemasters deserve particular praise. They were knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about sharing the beauty of Tioman’s underwater world. Their enthusiasm was infectious and helped create a fun and relaxed atmosphere both above and below the surface. As a diver, I greatly appreciated the balance that B&J strikes between enjoyment and safety. Every dive was well-organized and professionally conducted. Safety briefings were thorough, equipment checks were carried out carefully, and the dive guides remained attentive throughout the dives. Despite maintaining high safety standards, the team ensured that the dives remained enjoyable and memorable. Their familiarity with local dive sites allowed us to maximize our underwater experience while feeling secure at all times. It is reassuring to dive with professionals who clearly prioritize guest safety without compromising the fun and excitement of exploring the reefs. Another highlight of staying at B&J was the abundance of delicious food available nearby. The resort’s location provides easy access to a variety of eateries offering local Malaysian dishes, fresh seafood, Western options, and refreshing drinks. After a day spent underwater, it was wonderful to have so many excellent dining choices within walking distance. The combination of great diving and great food made every day on the island something to look forward to. Overall, my stay at B&J Tioman Dive Resort was outstanding. The clean accommodation, warm and friendly staff, professional dive team, strong safety culture, and excellent food options combined to create an unforgettable holiday experience. I would not hesitate to recommend B&J to anyone visiting Tioman Island, whether they are experienced divers, new divers, or simply looking for a relaxing island getaway. Thank you to the entire B&J team for making my trip so enjoyable, and I look forward to returning again in the future."

"Great environment, friendly service."

"1511 Coconut Grove feels like something you read from a magazine that you never imagine getting to experience. Tioman Island is truly a magical place indeed and this resort is the most perfect location I’ve found! We will be coming back again and again. All local staff who knows hospitality standards of western travelers!"
