"The staff of Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel are professional and considerable. Their service are excellent, especially
1) The shuttle bus driver (morning shift strong man, forgot asking his name). When we arrived at Shodoshima Ferry Pier at 11:00am on April 7, we found a hotel shuttle bus, but not sure if it's the one of our staying hotel. We asked the driver if it's the one that waiting to pick us up. He said yes, but the hotel check-in time should be 3:00pm in the afternoon. He suggested us to have the sightseeing first and helped register the afternoon time for picking us instead. Also, he suggested taking our hand carry bags to the hotel front desk to avoid we carrying too heavy bags while travelling.
2) The lady staff (sorry for forgetting her name) at the lobby hall, who was very proactive. She came over immediately to help taking photos for us when she found we're taking a selfie. She also served us with free drinks for enjoying the sunset at the hall.
3) The staff at the reception desk are very professional. They helped us for check-in, explained the details of the time for meals, and provided all the information required.
4) The foods for dinner & breakfast buffet are very nice and yummy. The restaurant is clean and tidy.
Overall, Olivean Shodoshima Yuhigaoka Hotel is a very professional and comfortable accommodation for stay. We're pleased and feel glad choosing this hotel."

"The room is a traditional Japanese style room, a bit old, the view from my room is average, but it was night when I arrived, so it didn't matter, the room was clean and hygienic. Free hot water and drinks in the lobby. The hot spring is good, with an open-air bath. However, there are no restaurants or supermarkets around, so it is recommended to pack a meal or eat well before coming back, or there is a simple vending machine in the lobby selling instant noodles and curry rice."

"The second and first year of the New Year and the first day of the first month of the first month are very satisfactory. The proprietress is from the Northeast. The communication is very smooth and very enthusiastic. It is not so much a hotel as a home. Auntie prepared a free breakfast in the morning and sent me on the first day of the New Year. We have a few dumplings that let us feel the warmth of home when traveling overseas. The communication with the proprietress is also very smooth. On the day of check-out, the proprietress also drove us to visit several attractions and finally gave us two big * oranges. It must be praised. It is worth recommending in the future. I will definitely stay here again in Seto Inland Sea."

"1. Transportation: I just missed the last bus when I arrived at the ferry pier on Shodoshima Island. It was only 1.5 kilometers away from the navigation and positioning, so I walked there. Leisure time, about 25 minutes.
2. Surroundings: It is about 15 minutes walk from Angel Road, about 5 minutes walk from the hypermarket, and 10 minutes walk from the ramen shop, but it is sold out at about 8 o'clock.
3. The hotel itself:
Service: The store is a very enthusiastic and gentleman old man, who takes the initiative and patiently introduces the surroundings of the hotel. My wife and I are both terrible in Japanese, but miraculously understand almost all under the various explanations of the old man;
Room: Japanese-style tatami room, the first experience, I think of Doraemon’s room, there is no separate bathroom, but it is very tidy, I like it very much; the bathroom is on the first floor, divided into men’s and women’s baths, and the latest use time is 10 o’clock.
4. Disadvantages: poor sound insulation. The reason why I say the shortcomings separately is because it is more obvious. In addition, it seems that there are no other shortcomings.
5. General comment: There may be many possibilities for different hotels in Shodoshima, but the next time you go, you will still choose to enter the boat first, and no more explanation is needed."

"A pleasant surprise upon entering. It feels like home. It is very clean. The details are very good. The tableware is very complete. Washing, drying and drying are provided. Laundry detergent is also thoughtfully prepared. There are sanitary pads on the dressing table. There is a small chair for taking a shower. There are hand towels in the toilet. Most importantly, there is Netflix. When you open the window, you can see Angel Road. The clouds and mist are lingering every day. You will feel very good. I booked for two days and I was reluctant to leave. I really want to stay for a week. It is far away from the city. The bed is a little small, but it is enough for one person to sleep. The small yard can be used to dry small clothes. The balcony can be used to relax. There is a supermarket downstairs. It just takes some physical effort to climb the hill to buy. "Suitable for self-driving, parking spaces are available (but parking spaces above Room 4 are in the corner under the house, which is not convenient at night). Self check in (check in online before check-in provides the check-in information, and receives an email two days before check-in about the room number, gate password and room lock box password; after arriving at the hotel, you will be at the front desk tablet check in, shadow passport (the light has been turned off at 8 o'clock, and the shadow is too dim to know the impact...😅)), The process is still simple, but the lock box has been tried many times and it has not been opened....Good color finally opened by the man.)
The room is large and you need to make your own bed; there is a separate toilet and sink in the room. The bathroom is on B/F, and each room has a key to the bathroom with its own room number. The light on the bathroom stairs is darker.
The Common area is large, with microwave ovens, water machines, TVs... The landscape is open, and the road to angels is seen."

GGuest UserThis is an older building, but the company is doing everything possible to make your stay amazing. I did stay in a cheaper room, but personally had no issues. They offer free welcome drink, free happy hour bar, free ice cream and free rice bowl at night plus free shuttle service. Amazing little island. Enjoy the soy sauce and olive oil. Beer & sake brewery as well.
