"Our second stop on this East Japan trip was Morioka. The hotel is right across from the station, but I didn't dare cross the road because there was no pedestrian sidewalk. So, I took the underground passage instead. Since it was my first time there, I wasn't familiar with the area and had to carry my suitcase up the stairs. Luckily, there weren't too many steps. I actually didn't have high hopes for this hotel, but it turned out to be surprisingly good! The service was excellent, and it's conveniently connected to a Lawson convenience store; you can enter the hotel directly with your room key. I heard the breakfast was good, so I bought one day's worth to try it out. It was 2600 JPY per person, and breakfast started at 6:15 AM. The Japanese really wake up early – there was already a queue before it even opened! The single room was very spacious, and the soundproofing was excellent. The price was also very reasonable. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Morioka."

"We were two people staying 3 nights. We had breakfast and we were very happy with it (6:30-10:00, L.O 9:30). It didn’t change much during the stay, but it had a lot of options and it tasted good. The room was small. If you have suitcase it will be hard to open it up. We didn’t have suitcases, so for us it was no problem. The bed and pillows were comfortable. They have a manga library and coffe machine (15:00-22:00), and space with tables and chairs where you can e.g eat. They have laundry as well (10:00-22:00). It was cheep (washing 400 yen 30 min, dryer 100 yen 10 min). It was a standing washing machine (which I don’t really like) and we had a lot of laundry, so we went to another coin laundry 1 min walk from the hotel, which was good (washing 15 kg 30 min 800 yen, drying 10 min 100 yen). We didn’t use room cleaning, but every day we got a bag of towels on our door knob. It is around 10-15 min walk to the station. But it’s close to shopping streets and Iwaki park. It has a lot of restaurants close by. If you like all-you-can-drink there’s a lot of options close by as well. After check out we left our baggage for a couple of hours. It was no problem. The people at the hotel were very nice and polite. Overall we had a very nice stay at this hotel."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location right in front of Morioka Station, and I found it incredibly convenient throughout my stay with plenty of convenience stores, restaurants, and cafes nearby. The front desk is on the first floor, and the breakfast restaurant is on the second. The breakfast is good for a quick meal. There were some Chinese tour groups staying at the hotel. Compared to a typical business hotel, the room was a bit more spacious and comfortable. The bed had just the right amount of firmness, the new TV and Hitachi air conditioner worked perfectly, and the water pressure in the TOTO bathroom shower was also very satisfying. I was worried about congestion with only two elevators, but they were fast, so the wait time wasn't long. However, since it hasn't been open for long, the staff's service was a bit unpolished, and the cleaning in some corners left a little to be desired. Nevertheless, thanks to the excellent location and superb room condition, I was generally very satisfied with my stay."

"The room was great although a bit small for anyone carrying a luggage bigger than 24 inches. You need to grab your amenities in the lobby. The room was very clean and the walk-in shower was much more convenient than a tub. The internet was amazingly fast. The breakfast was absolutely the most enjoyable part of the stay. You have different options including some local ones. The view of the seats are fascinating. You never get tired of just sitting there and enjoying a cup of morning coffee."

"It is conveniently located in downtown Morioka. However, the hotel itself feels a bit dated. It feels like an older hotel that is well-maintained, if that makes sense. Starting this year, one bottle of water is provided for every two or three nights. (Tap water is available in the standard bathrooms.) There is a coin laundry on the 3rd floor, which is available for long-term stays."

"The hotel's scenery was absolutely stunning! We visited in April, and opening the window revealed beautiful lake views and snow-capped mountains. The hot springs were also fantastic. It happened to be a festival in April, so there were folk song and dance performances in the evenings. There's a shuttle bus service between Morioka Station and the hotel, but you need to book it in advance. If you can't get on the shuttle, there are also public buses that go to the hotel."

"The Four Points by Sheraton Morioka is conveniently located very close to the JR station. Just exit West Exit and walk straight, then you can take the pedestrian bridge on the 3rd floor directly to the hotel's sign, take the elevator down, and you're there. The hotel is quite new, and my single room was well-designed; I could fit a 28-inch suitcase at the foot of the bed. The window opens, and the bed was comfortable. It was very quiet during my stay, likely due to lower occupancy, making it perfect for solo travelers. The only downside is that it's a bit of a walk to the nearest convenience store."

"Conveniently located beside JR Morioka station and Iwate Galaxy Railway (IGR) Line with the bus terminus across the road in front of the hotel and also housed within the same building as the FESAN Shopping Mall. Room was spacious and the breakfast (buffet style) in the hotel’s Chinese restaurant was good. 1. Hotel Location The hotel is located in a relatively remote area of ​​Tsunaki Onsen. Access involves a slope and a road. Buses are infrequent, making it difficult for those without a car to reach the area. A taxi from Morioka Station costs a fixed 5,000 yen fare to the hot springs, and the journey takes over 20 minutes. 2. Neighborhood Amenities The hotel is located in a relatively remote area of ​​the hot springs. The nearest convenience store is over a 15-minute walk away. There are few other shops nearby. Once you enter the hotel, you're confined to the hotel. Even if you want to walk to the nearby river, the walk is over ten minutes. It's recommended to stock up on daily necessities, such as snacks, in the city before heading to the hotel. 3. Hotel Facilities This hotel is a very traditional hot spring inn. The building has three floors and approximately 21 rooms. The baths are separate for men and women, one indoor and one outdoor. However, the outdoor open-air bath is too close to the grass, making it prone to mosquitoes at night. The indoor bath is spacious, and since there are not many guests, you can enjoy it alone. The room facilities are a bit dated. The Wi-Fi speed is adequate, but the TV cannot connect to a tablet or YouTube. The room window overlooks the landscaped grounds next to the lobby. If you enjoy traditional Japanese inns, you will enjoy the facilities at this hotel. 4. Hotel Staff The hotel staff are very friendly and proactive in offering assistance. However, one area I think could be improved is that the dinner and breakfast service was a bit too fast.

It's a bit far from the station. If you have big luggage, I recommend taking a taxi. There is a Starbucks downstairs and a restaurant in the hotel. Turn left and there is a shopping mall. It's old, but the overall maintenance is OK. The sanitation is clean and the front desk can communicate in basic English. It's not too far from Shenglouge, you can try it

Overall, the room is standard in the typical Japanese hotel style. They provide an ergonomic pillow, but I didn’t like it very much. There was still some dust found around the headboard area. The in-room safe was not working, and no water was provided. However, the location is good—not far from the station. Free sachet creams are available, and the price is reasonable. I would recommend staying here.

My friend booked the other Toyoko Inn near Morioka Eki and I only found out after trying to check-in. Luckily the two hotels are quite close to each other. The location was great, just a few minute walk from the JR station so I was able to pack my snowboard and walked to the station myself. Breakfast was included. Variety was little but the menu changed everyday. Room was bigger than I thought. I booked a single room but it came with a double bed. I had my snowboard luggage laid out and still quite some space to walk around in the room. The clam broth serving at night time was extraordinary good!

A short one night stay for my transit from sanriku coast to Akita. Staff are friendly and nice. The room with central heating is a bit too hot despite lowering the temperature on the remote. Fortunately the window can be open.

Hotel Jin Morioka is just next to the train station. Very convenient location as a center point to travel in the region. Rooms are clean and nice with Mountain View. Breakfast for only 1000 Yen is a very good offer. Definitely recommend this hotel 👍

Although it's an older place, I had a decent stay with no major issues. They handled my luggage storage well, and it was great to have a washer and dryer for laundry. The location right in front of the station was also perfect. No complaints!

The location is really good, it is really close to morioka Station. I picked the hotel because of it location, I just need a one night stay after my nebuta festival. The room is really small but comfortable 😌. The front desk services are really friendly and consider I check in the middle of the night.
