"The hotel upgraded my room, and I got to see the Nagara River, which was absolutely wonderful. There was a lovely old lady who spoke Chinese and helped us with charming guidance and service. On the first floor, they offer free coffee and tea, and before 5 PM, there's even complimentary white wine. The hotel also provides a twice-daily, half-hour Japanese guided tour of the old town, which is quite interesting. We pre-booked the cormorant fishing (Ukai) event organized by the hotel, and it was very traditional and distinctive. We walked from a special Ukai pathway down to the river and boarded the two exclusive hotel boats. We were incredibly lucky that evening; there weren't many boats, so the performance boat could come right up to ours for a close-up view. Before the main performance, there was a song and dance boat show, followed by three fireworks displays announcing the start of the Ukai show."

"Such an excellent hotel in terms of location and even room layout and space. It fit 2 comfortably (but we’re asian so we can only speak for ourselves) and even gave us space to open our luggages and have an area to chill at. Super convenient and so close to the station, getting around was never an issue! My husband fell sick on Day 2 of us being in Gifu so that konbini attached to the hotel was a real lifesaver, as well as the Sugakiya next door! Hotel staff were excellent and super helpful as well. Lots of locals staying there and also lots of amazing food places and parks around the area. Our main objective was to go hiking and the buses made that incredibly convenient! It basically goes clockwise or counter-clockwise around Gifu so you dont really have to worry about getting lost at all. Fantastic trip! We love Gifu!"

"The reception staff are very friendly and helpful, and it is very generous that the hotel opens the onsens for use at 1 pm which is 2 hours before check-in time. The room is nice and clean, and you can see the river on one side and the mountain with the Gifu Castle on the top on the other side, same with the outdoor onsen. The set dinner is very good value for money, and the Hida beef is really nice. The hotel is just next to the Gifu Park, inside it there are many other attraction spots and you can also take the cable car to reach the top of the mountain where the Gifu castle is located. The famous traditional fishing show with cormorant birds can be viewed at the river bank right outside the hotel."

"The location is good to reach easily the JR and Meitetsu station, also close to the main city and highway bus stops. Very close to Gifu City 43 (with observatory deck). It is just around what used to be the covered clothing shopping district, which is now mostly empty and run down. The district is seeing progressive renovations. There are plenty of restaurants around, but for more affordable places, might have to walk some distance.
Room are large enough, so you wont have trouble opening and arranging large luggage. The furniture is old and bathroom needs some maintenance (sink cracked on top and leaking under the drain). The ambient was quite dusty and the cleaning of the room is done only on the fourth day of stay (used towels, garbage and mugs/glasses must be put outside the room and will be replaced with a clean set at the door). There is a coin laundry with dryers, but it’s located at lobby level. The staff is polite and helpful, speaks English."

"When I lived in Gifu more than 20 years ago, I often used it for dinner in various scenes and it is a nostalgic hotel. I thought it would be old, but it seems to have been renewed, and I feel a little old, such as the bath, but there was a feeling of cleanliness and I was able to spend a relaxing time.
Let's say breakfast is normal, or I feel that Corona Sorrow has the same service (such as the type of side dishes), so I look forward to it after Corona in the future."

"Lovely hotel, had old money vibes. Seems to be a popular hotel for weddings.
The breakfast and dinner were nice, but there is not much variety, seeing as the food served for breakfast was pretty much the same for the 2 mornings I was there.
The room was nice and spacious, was clean and bright too - always a plus for me.
My biggest downside is that for the room type I booked, the rooms were located along the same corridor as the back-of-house. So we could hear dishwashing and ventilation sounds."

Very classical house, clean and tidy, and the service is in place. You can see Changliangchuan in the room, with beautiful scenery.

The temperature is adjustable, and you can even do your own löyly (sauna steam).
The staff, especially the owner, were incredibly helpful, and the warm, homey atmosphere made me want to come back again.

Good variety at breakfast and the view at breakfast room was beautiful. Free parking facility is next to the hotel, no shelter walkway but able to accommodate many cars. Room was clean and big and had all essentials. Unfortunately did not get to try the onsen but i'm sure it would have been nice.

出張Has been used multiple times. I have no problems and I think I will use it again. One thing I would like to say is that for privacy reasons, I didn't like having to give my name when handing over the keys. This is especially true when there are other users. I hope for improvement.

The room was cool but rather met the ants that appeared for the first time during a trip to Japan
I don't know where it came from I opened the window and the employee said it came from outside and the employee's handling of it was to catch instead of changing rooms
The hotel is about 7 minutes walk from Gifu Station with family mart downstairs

Anonymous UserAn old hotel with 1980’s furnishing but well-maintained and relatively clean. Location wise is quite a long walk from Gifu station. Short stay for business visits or layover during long travel if the room rate is low, otherwise go for newer hotels nearer to the Gifu station.

Just opposite the JR Gifu station, near by has a convenient store (family mart), a few ramen places and a lot of eateries. Super easy to access and non stressful stay. They also give out free amenities such as cleansers, lotions etc.. recomend for all travelers.

The room is big, the bathroom and bathtub are spacious, beautifully decorated, but the room is quite dark tone, going in and out frequently is not very convenient. Suitable for adults who come as a couple, not suitable for a large family.
