"We were traveling from Georgia to Russia and needed a hotel before the border crossing so we could spend the night, shower, have breakfast, freshen up, and then cross the border safely in the morning. The hotel was perfect for all of this. We arrived late in the evening and were checked in quickly. It's a shame the receptionist didn't speak Russian (oh well). The room was warm, the bed was comfortable, and there was hot water—what else could you want?
We woke up in the morning to a stunning view from the window—mountains, snow, and more mountains!
The breakfast was wonderful; it seemed we were the only guests that day; they prepared it especially for us. We asked for some lunchboxes for the trip, and they gave us a ton of extra food—superb!
The only downside is that there's no power outlet outside; we were driving an electric car, so it would have been useful. A 220V outlet would cost $10."

"If you don't rent a car yourself, it's better not to book it. It's far from the center, and it's a big uphill. It's very tiring to walk with luggage. It's not very convenient to take a taxi. If you want to book a car, it's best to book it one day in advance~
If you don't speak English, it's better not to book it. The cabin is unmanaged. When you walk in, there is no window in one room, and one wash basin is removed. I thought it was closed and abandoned~ I called to tell which room it was, and then I went in to get the key~
If you are worried about safety, it's better not to book it. It depends on luck whether the door lock is locked. We locked the door at night and found that it could be opened easily the next morning~
If you don't care about the above three points and don't have high requirements for accommodation conditions, the cabin is mainly cheap, with hot water and heating, right at the foot of the snow mountain, and the environment is still great~ Of course, the wooden cabins here are all very good. "The views are stunning. The hotel has a very nice restaurant, apparently a favorite in this village. We stayed in mid-May and decided to go there for dinner. It turned out it was the restaurant's first day of operation, as the season hadn't really started yet, but it's worth noting that every table was full. Many foreigners chose this place. When we arrived in the center of Stepantsminda, the taxi driver offered to take us to the hotel for 15 lari. Knowing Tbilisi taxi prices, we thought this was very expensive and bargained down to 10. But when we left and called a taxi, we still ended up paying 15 lari."

"It wasn’t a bad hotel but with this price of staying I could find a nicer hotel. Facilities were quite old. Our bed was not in a good condition. The floor made of wood which make a lot of noise while walking. I can foot steps of hotel guests every time. However The view from the room was amazing and the breakfast was delicious."

"The views of the snow-capped mountains from the rooms are absolutely paramount, a truly prime spot at the highest elevation. Even the surrounding forest scenery is delightful. Though the rooms are on the cozier side, they are thoughtfully designed and well-equipped with everything you might need, making them perfectly functional.
The hotel's restaurant deserves a special mention; it's truly exceptional. The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious, and every dinner dish we tried was outstanding – absolutely no disappointments. It’s a perfect pairing of stunning views and incredible cuisine.
A staff member named Nike truly stood out. He was incredibly friendly and genuinely enthusiastic, proactively helping with luggage and offering useful tips on weather conditions and safety. His passion for hospitality was truly evident.
I sincerely hope to have the chance to return to Kazbegi and extend my stay by a couple more days."

I'll recommend this place, I had a really nice stay here."

"This is one of the best places I've stayed in a long time. The room is new and very clean, there is hot and cold drinking water in the foyer, and the views out the window are world class. It can be a little hard to find, but after you see the 10 Stefatsminda sign, go into the metal door (see photos). The photo of Gergeti Trinity Church I included was taken from the room. It's incredible. I have only good things to say about this place. It's amazing."

"This was the first guesthouse I chose in Kazbekistan. The location was actually quite good; it was very close to the minibus station and other public transportation hubs, about a 10-minute walk. There was also a market nearby, seemingly unremarkable from the outside, perched on a high platform. Many tourists bought food and water there because there weren't many restaurants, making it difficult to choose. The main advantage was the location. Lying in bed watching the sky slowly turn red and rise was incredibly pleasant.
This place didn't have an elevator, and the soundproofing was terrible. With guests checking in at night and early risers in the morning, you could hear a lot of noise, waking me up. You can't expect too much from a guesthouse."

The problems didn't arise, as I arrived a little not in the season, it was cold at night, heating worked, and everything was super 👍🏻 Look was pleasant to drink coffee and look at the mountains! Hosts - Sofiko and Bichiko are very joyful and hospitality. Recommended different places, and with all helped! I would have been happy to stay in this place 😍

GGuest UserMany people recommended the cabin, so I booked it. However, I'd suggest choosing the 'Rooms' option instead, especially if your budget allows and you don't plan on cooking. We had breakfast at the 'Rooms' dining area, which cost over 100 Lari for two.
The view from the window was largely obstructed by the rooftops in front, which was quite disappointing.
There are several cabins in the vicinity; ours was a double cabin equipped with a fridge, an induction cooktop, and a washing machine. These amenities would be great for those who need them, but since we didn't, it felt like we'd made the wrong choice for us.
You'll need to add the host on WeChat prior to arrival, as they won't add you first and don't speak English. We relied heavily on WeChat's excellent translation function. Despite the language barrier, the host was very nice and helpful.

On the day of check-in, I received a message from the owner saying that there was an emergency. I thought I would not live. I replied to the other party's email, but I was not replied again. I borrowed the locals' phone to call the owner, but the other party was not clear. When I received the email, I was already on the way. There was an option to return that day, but it was raining and decided to stay.
Finally, I chose to go to the field to see. The location is far away from the main street. I climbed uphill to the original address in the rain and saw the owner himself. He said that he could not stay in the maintenance and was willing to take us to another cabin. Finally, I drove us to this cottages LIZA next to the main street. The shape is very consistent. The sanitary conditions inside are average. It is also a small two-story villa. I chose to live in it for the sake of convenient transportation.

It is very important, as there are few places to eat, they open late, if expected, part for the mountain beauty inspection will be missed. In general, a place suitable for staying there, but I wouldn't choose it for the second time. Inside there is a leaflet with the prices for the tour, they are more than what you will get just from drivers on the square, there are always a few tourists waiting, there are problems with the arrival there not even in difficult places.
