"We specifically detoured to Mangya Emerald Lake during our Qinghai-Gansu loop, and even though it was a long drive, it was absolutely worth it. It's a stunning salt lake. We did the route in reverse, starting from Dunhuang to Mangya. The hotel was very clean, comparable to a large chain hotel, and quite comfortable. The only downside, which seems to be a common issue, is the poor soundproofing – it gets noisy when people talk in the hallway. We unfortunately had a group making noise past midnight. Overall, the hotel is still good. There's a local market nearby where you can find food, drinks, and fruits, which was perfect for our dinner and breakfast."

"The hotel room wasn't particularly luxurious, but it was clean and had everything you needed. A pleasant surprise was the washing machine in the room. The receptionists seemed to be a family; they were very friendly, proactively showing us to our room and even giving us two extra bottles of water. They even brought up laundry detergent when we wanted to do laundry, which was very thoughtful. Overall, it was great value for money."

However, the air conditioning in the room is quite noisy even at the lowest fan speed, and the restaurant is small with limited options."

"The Mehao Hotel in Lenghu offers an excellent overall experience. The rooms are new and clean, and the smart devices are easy to use. The view of the Gobi desert from the window is expansive.
