"City Hotel Biel Bienne belongs to a small chain hotel group. According to the hotel receptionist, this hotel has to follow policies of the chain company. When I checked in on May 5, I saw a notice on the reception desk that there will be a city construction at night on the street just outside of the hotel. However, I was never informed of such a construction work when and since I booked my room. The daytime front desk reception Maria was very nice to get a room for me not facing the street. Here I was confused, Maria said I didn’t choose to have a courtyard facing room on my booking. In fact, I didn’t have a choice to choose courtyard facing at all when I booked via Trip.com. Oh well I was given a room to avoid construction noise BUT that room has a TV that doesn’t work at all and no one at the hotel can help us with it. The night shift receptionist proposed to switch us to a street facing room so that we could have a TV which I of course turned down. That night shift receptionist didn’t have patience to help us and eventually walked away from us (or should I honestly say that she doesn’t have a decent English language skill to carry a conversation with us to solve this issue). Anyway, Maria is great and speaks very good English but not the night shift receptionist."
