"We booked the hotel at Chateau Nova one year ago in advance for Aurora tour in late September!! They sent an email to confirm the room reservation 2 days before the check in date. When we arrived Yellowknife Airport, we called the hotel for pickup. They came in 10-15 minutes. Checkin is fast and they upgrade our 3 rooms to suites. The suite room numbers are 254, 255, and 257. The suite has a living room with a sofa bed, a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and a laundry room with washer and dryer!! You can do your own laundry 😊👍 The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, can opener, utensils, cookware, wine glass and mugs. Please bring your own wine opener. The room temperature is fine. Our room has a small balcony with tree view. They provide a potable AC in the bedroom but we never use it. They do daily housekeeping if you turn off the green light on the front door. They provide with plenty of towels, shower bar, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and makeup remover. I did not try the food in their restaurant since we have a full size kitchen and a living room. We ordered food from DoorDash and the food is delivered to your hotel room doorstep!! It’s so convenient. Overall the hotel is good and quiet. I found a stain on the bedsheet and they changed the sheet right away!! The sauna and steam room are always out of order. It’s part of hotel amenities but they never are available for guests. Gym is good. I will go back again!! Book early."

"Jenny was great and the place of stay was extremely clean! Even though the bathroom is a shared facility, everything worked well. Loved the fact we had access to the kitchen. The location is right downtown and can easily get access to shops and such."

"I had many phone calls to make to the counter, and they were very helpful. The facilities are a bit dated, but the location, right in the middle of Old Town and downtown, makes it a great place to tour both sides on foot."

"The room is fully equipped and breakfast is provided. There is a Walmart and McDonald's nearby, which is very convenient. The front desk is very welcoming. The scenery nearby is good, and it is very close to the airport, about ten minutes' drive."

"I arrived when Yellowknife had a blackout. The bags were brought into the airport one by one. I went outside to see the hotel shuttle bus pulling out and drive right past me. I had to wait 30 minutes for its return, with me being the only passenger. The hotel had no power and I was told by reception that people can go up the lift but it is not guaranteed that you wouldn’t get stuck in it. Really had no choice as 7 floors is a lot of steps. The room was very hot, so I went do to the foyer. However, you could not get anything as their eftpos was not working. All places downtown were shut. So nowhere to eat or drink. The power came back on after 11pm. It was not a great start. The rooms were roomy and the king bed was comfy but the bathroom was incredibly small. First time I have seen a shower where you pull the bath faucet down to change the water flow to the shower. It took a while and google to sort this out. The coffee machine was ok. The hotel window was dirty and spoiled the great view. I liked that the room had a microwave and bar fridge. The staff were staff, nothing stood out as exceptional service. There is no porter service or doorman, so no help with luggage or doors. The lobby was ok but taken over by a theatre group the first afternoon, so not a lot of seating. Remember this is touted as a 4 star hotel, but the service doesn’t match. Housekeeping is only done in the morning, if you want to sleep in, after getting back after 2am from Aurora tours, you will miss out. There is no free water or water stations. A bottle of water costs $5. There are many vending machines. Overall, I found this hotel average."

"The sound insulation is not good, and the room environment is really dilapidated. We always leave the windows open because the temperature in the room cannot be adjusted. Opening the windows will provide better air. But this is the case in this area. There doesn't seem to be any high-end, new hotels. There are taxis lined up at the exit of Yellowknife Airport, so it is easy to catch a taxi. After getting in the taxi, I used the time meter to head to the hotel. Coffee and tea are available in the facility. You can also cook freely, so if you want to save on travel expenses, I think you can save a lot by buying ingredients at the supermarket and cooking. The hotel bath is shared and is shared by one person. Body soap, shampoo, and hair dryers are also available and can be used free of charge. The owner cleans it beautifully every day, so I was able to use it comfortably! However, if you are going on an Northern Lights tour, please be careful about the bath! ! The bath cannot be used between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am because the guests may be asleep. If you want to take a bath, please take a bath after 6:00 am. By the way, I participated in the Aurora tour with Nanook Aurora Tour, which is run by a Japanese person. If you want to go on an Aurora tour, you should definitely go with Nanook Aurora Tour!! When I had to return to Japan suddenly this time, I was in a hurry due to an accident such as a flight cancellation, but the owner arranged for me to be picked up and dropped off at the airport, and he also said, If there is no accommodation available if the flight cannot be flown, I can stay for a bargain price of $60! I was very relieved and really happy that he was so kind and considerate when I was in a lot of trouble. We're all in this together when we're in trouble. I'm very nervous about traveling alone, but... I'm really glad I went. When I visit Yellowknife again, I'd like to stay at this accommodation again.
