Service: The hotel receptionist was very enthusiastic, proactively offering a map and introducing nearby attractions. A great first impression, highly recommend! Facilities: Quite old-fashioned. Hygiene: Acceptable. Environment: Not many good food options nearby, though there's a KFC counter relatively close. However, there are homeless people at the entrance. The hotel is located on the edge of the city center; you can take public transport to the center, but definitely don't walk back – there's a big hill that's very tiring to climb.

The room was very comfortable, with a charming vintage and luxurious feel. It was also incredibly quiet, and the location couldn't be better – less than a kilometer from the Sydney Opera House, offering fantastic views. The surrounding restaurants were excellent with plenty of choices.

I had a great 2-night stay. Thanks to this place, my memories of Sydney will be even better! I stayed comfortably at a great price, which is excellent given how expensive Sydney is. The check-in window was a bit short, but I received detailed instructions beforehand, so I didn't experience any major inconvenience. The facilities are clean, and the location is superb. Thank you!

Absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Challis. The room was clean, comfortable, and so lovely and quiet and exactly what we were hoping for. It had everything we could imagine and made our stay really relaxing and easy. Great location, friendly atmosphere, and excellent value. We would happily stay again!

I truly enjoyed my stay at Regent Courts Hotel. The property has a wonderful heritage charm, with its old building structure and a fascinating vintage lift — complete with a metal sliding door and wooden inner door that gave a nostalgic feel. Spacious room with two queen beds, perfect for four people. Beds and duvets were very comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. The kitchenette was a great addition, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a Nespresso machine with capsules, milk packets, and other beverage sachets provided. A drip tray and table cloth for drying utensils, pots, and plates would be helpful. The kitchen lighting was too dim in the evenings, making cooking difficult. The knife provided was not sharp and had a chip, which could potentially cause food contamination — replacing it would improve safety. Although a washer was available, we didn’t use it since the dryer was located on the ground floor, which felt inconvenient. The Kings Cross train station is just a 5–7 minute walk away, making travel around Sydney easy. Both Woolworths and Coles supermarkets are about 7 minutes away at the end of the street, perfect for picking up essentials. The staff — from front desk to housekeeping — were consistently polite and welcoming, adding warmth to the stay. A short train trip takes you to Bondi Junction, where you can catch a bus to Bondi Beach — ideal for spending a relaxing day by the ocean. The rooftop was another relaxing spot. We visited briefly to take pictures and enjoy the fresh air. Unfortunately, I was welcomed by tiny dead roaches in the toilet. On departure, I noticed a live one coming in and out of a cracked wall near the basin support. Addressing this issue would greatly improve the overall guest experience. Overall, Regent Courts Hotel is a good place to stay for four nights. The shower, heater, water supply, safety, and lift all had no issues. Its location is accessible, close to supermarkets and the train station. The only drawback was the roach sightings, which should be addressed.

This is my first time at the original backpacker. Answer my phone call when I was late check-in, the guy was very polite. Reception - very friendly and helpful show me around. Location - convenience at King Cross with 2 supermarkets, food shop, shopping centre. Friendly roommates with all women. Other backpackers are very respectful. No noise after midnight. I'll be back😊

The location is great, right next to King's Cross metro station. There's a McDonald's, Woolworths, and Coles nearby, making it super convenient for food and groceries. However, it can get a bit rowdy at night; you can hear drunk people yelling on the street and police sirens from the room. There's no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, you might want to ask for a room on a lower floor. The kitchen isn't very clean, so if you plan on cooking, I'd recommend bringing your own pots. Despite these points, it's a good budget option in the area that includes breakfast, so it's still worth considering!

I loved my stay at this hostel. I met great people, the room was super comfy, very quiet. The kitchen + living room are super spacious, it's really nice here! Location is perfect, just a 15min walk from the botanical gardens + a view on the opera house. And a 2 min walk from Kingscross train station, from which you can take a train to most parts of the city + outside of Syndey. Lovely! If you stay in Sydney, I would 100% recommend London Plane Backpackers.

Small room in the hotel next to train station with good connection to the city centre. Hotel has also kitchen for guests. The reception is open only within specific hours so be aware of your check in time.

The customer service at this place was excellent! Every question I had was answered clearly and in great detail. It was very convenient to stay here, and the location was great, with easy access to the train station. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience and would definitely recommend staying here.
