Drinks (coffee, juice) were served at the lobby lounge before check-in. There are many beautiful pots, paintings, statues of Daikoku, photographs, etc. in the hall, and you will not get tired even if you walk around the hall. The room was an ordinary rectangular Japanese-style room because my spouse had reserved a room for some reason. The sweets in the room are Kurisuke, a Japanese confectionery directly managed by Wado, and delicious chestnut buns. The hot spring in the bath is a good hot spring (mineral spring) that smells of sulfur. It is said that the local people used this mineral spring for eye drops and cuts, and it was written in the Fudoki edited by the Edo Shogunate that it was the oldest hot spring in Chichibu, Yakushi-no-Yu. Dinner was served in the room. The local sake (nigori) was reasonably priced at 1100 yen for 300cc. Dinner was a variety of dishes using local Chichibu local cuisine and local products. The amount and number of items were so large that I could not finish eating them. I thought it would be good for young people and people who eat a lot (three kinds of meat dishes). Breakfast was a Japanese set menu. The side dishes were good, but the rice was hard and not good. Coffee, milk, etc., natto, yogurt, etc. were buffet style. After-meal coffee could be taken out to the room. I felt that the hospitality was also good.

It just opened in August this year. There is also a large parking lot, and it is a 6 〜 7 minute walk from Chichibu Station on the Chichibu Railway. Is it about a 15-minute walk from Seibu Chichibu Station? There are bus services, but the number is small. It was a distance that wouldn't bother me if I walked around the city for sightseeing. It's new, so it goes without saying that it's beautiful everywhere, and the lobby is quite luxurious if it's a business hotel. Delicious lemonade is installed depending on the coffee maker and time. There is a free luggage storage locker. Restaurant immediately after entering. Breakfast buffet and evening can also be taken. Some courses require advance reservations, but they are izakaya-style and can be easily used. Unlike ordinary route-in, Grand has a paid breakfast or a live kitchen. Was the guest 1500 yen? Breakfast will be served if you make a reservation from the official hp. And the large communal bath is very good. It is the same as the hot spring of the god of Mimine Shrine, which is carried from Otaki Onsen. There is also an open-air bath, and the quality of the spring is smooth. The rooms are quite low type with beds and chairs to take off shoes at the entrance. All the staff feel very good.
Jalan's number one ranking inn in Saitama (14 months and counting), featuring guestrooms with attached open-air baths

There is so much to like about this place. We stayed in the newer separate building called Hanamizuki, just down the road from the old main building. The building is great, very well-kept and tastefully furnished, and very comfortable and unpretentious. The staff are all very friendly, polite and helpful; great service overall. We took our toddler and the staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful with her. The room we stayed in is pretty typical, which means a very clean and spacious Japanese room, with the bed being two comfortable mattresses on a low platform. Lots of floor space for kids to play. The room opens out onto an open-air balcony which contains a shower and your very own private bath, looking out over a forest. Very happy with the room, and the private bath was awesome. Dinner is served in your own private space in the dining area. Pork shabu shabu was top quality and there was plenty to eat as it was served with excellent sashimi and other good food. Breakfast was less impressive but still high-quality and reasonably filling if you don't mind a very Japanese breakfast. Coffee is available on request. Tip: don't pay for any alcohol in the hotel. Sake is free in the shared onsen bath, and you get a free taster set included with dinner. If you want beer or other drinks, walk down to the ”michi no eki” about five minutes down the road and you can buy local beer etc. far cheaper than in the hotel itself. So why three stars? The big problem for us was that smoking was allowed in the balcony/bath areas of each room. Twice during our one-night stay the horrible smell of cigarette smoke came into our room from some other balcony, forcing us to close the door and making our own balcony unusable for that time. The single best thing they can do is to make a smoking room somewhere on the site and make all the rooms and balconies entirely smoke free. 全部の部屋を禁煙して欲しい。 Other than that, it was just a couple of little things. If you are arriving and leaving by train, for example, your check in and check out times will be dictated by the train timetable. We wanted to stay right up until 11am but we had to check out at 10am in order to be taken to the train. Additionally, the location is OK but not great. There's very little in the immediate area, so might not be a good ”base” for sightseeing. Most people are there for the comfort and pleasure of the hotel itself it seems. Finally, you are given some ”free” souvenir gifts as you checkout. Both the ones we got were relatively low-quality and not what we would have chosen, and we basically felt like it was something extra to carry when we already had lots of luggage. Advice to the management: cut the free omiyage and reduce the price by 1000 yen a night. So, for some kinds of people this will be a five star, and great value for that as well. On the other hand, if the smell of cigarette smoke is a deal-breaker for you, I can't recommend you stay here at all, so three stars it is.

As soon as I arrived by car, they welcomed me and served me iced tea and maple flavored rusks in the lobby lounge. When you step out of the lounge, you can see the mountain stream flowing below and the greenery is beautiful. According to the hotel pamphlet, it was founded in 1956. This time, my companion booked a business plan, so the room was small, but it had a nice view of the greenery. I was a little concerned because there was a cleaning related smell in the bathroom area of the room as well. In addition, when I looked at the hotel pamphlet and YouTube, there was also a nice modern Japanese room. Now, about the bath, unfortunately, the open-air bath is a paid private bath until 18:30, and you can enter freely until 18:30. The bath area smelled of sulfur, but the hot spring in the indoor bath didn't smell of sulfur. You can see the mountain stream from the bath. It was also used by day trippers. Amenities are complete. The next morning, I went to the open-air bath. It was early in the morning and it was a semi-open-air bath with no windows, so it was nice to have a nice breeze. There are 3 washrooms. This open-air bath and the bath in the room are not hot springs. Dinner was a large venue, but there were empty spaces between the tables. It was a ryokan menu such as sashimi, tempura, and chawanmushi. Grilled rock fish and miso-grilled puta were delicious. The dessert was konjac black honey kinako. The thinly sliced cold konjac dessert was also delicious. Breakfast was a buffet with vinyl gloves and masks. There were also items that had a handmade feel, such as meat potatoes and aemono. The coffee and tea were also delicious. I was worried that the tableware that I finished eating was left on the table. Next time I would like to stay in a modern Japanese room.

There are many stories that the annex is not good for any word of mouth. Recently, only the interior has been renovated and it is a beautiful room. How much is the movement of the connecting passage? Actually it is a slope. It is about 100m to the entrance of the annex. Plus there is a path to the room. The main building costs at least 10,000 yen for two people. I was thinking about it because it was the summer high season price, but I was able to stay at the main building at about half the price because I was able to use the prefectural discount and the coupon from the reservation site. The Japanese-style room in the main building has the specifications of an ordinary hot spring hotel in the old days. The hotel itself is located on a hill overlooking the city of Chichibu. There are rooms with open-air baths, but they are boiled water, so I didn't feel the charm as a hot spring lover. The large communal bath is small for the number of people in the carrying hot water from both gods. High season is always people, people... For meals, you can choose a kaiseki course, but the buffet is the main one, and I think that's enough. As the name of the farm hotel suggests, it is a healthy menu centered on vegetables. There were roast beef, tandoori chicken, pork ribs, sashimi, etc., but I felt unsatisfactory considering the original price. The concept is that the vegetables come from the attached field, but not all of them. Said the feeling. Depending on the season, most of the fruits were imported. Staff are very polite. Since it is summer vacation, there are many families even on weekdays. There seems to be a good sense of the person who guides the restaurant seats, but there is a high probability that families with children and three generations will be seated with a good view. This time, I was able to stay at an exceptional price, so I have no complaints.
180 years blessed by the hot spring. Rooms with open-air baths and private open-air baths (bookings required) available.

・I used the private bath for 1 hour (3,300 yen). ・Arakikosen is a hot spring inn in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture. ・When you stay overnight, you can also use rooms with open-air baths, which makes it an attractive inn. ・It is also possible to use the baths for day trips, so this time I was able to soak in the hot springs in a private bath for a day trip. ・Of course, it seems that you can also use the large public bath for day trips. There is only one private bath for day trips, so we recommend that you call in advance to check before visiting. By the way, it seems that you cannot make a reservation for a private bath. ・If you are driving, go up Prefectural Route 11 (Kumagaya Ogawa Chichibu Line) from the direction of Seibu Chichibu Station, and there is a sign on the way, so turn left there to find it. If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Seibu Chichibu Station on the Seibu Chichibu Line for about 20 minutes, get off at the Kinshoji stop, and it is about a 3-minute walk from there. ・The interior is made of good old wood, and the interior has a very atmospheric feel, with a hearth that suits it. Even for day trips, this is an exciting time. Borrow a key from the front desk and head to the private bath. The dressing room is a little small, but there is enough space for a family of four to change clothes. Body soap, conditioner, shampoo, and hair dryers are all provided, so as long as you bring your own towels, you won't have any problems. Even if you forget your towel, you can purchase one on site for 330 yen. The kettle is made of granite with a diameter of 150 cm. When you open the door, the unique smell of the hot spring wafts through the air, which gets you excited. It is an indoor bath, not an open-air bath, but there are large windows, so you can enjoy the view outside while soaking in the hot spring. In fact, even if it rains, you can open the window and enjoy the sound of the rain while enjoying the hot spring without getting rained on! There are probably many people who think this way. The hot spring is called ”Miyo no Yu” and was founded in 1827! It is a very old establishment. The spring source is a simple sulfur cold spring, heated to a temperature of about 15°C. The water feels smooth on the skin, is also known as ”*water” and is known to have beauty benefits. We also really enjoyed the smooth feel of the water. ・Chichibu is a place where you can enjoy a bit of the countryside in Saitama Prefecture. Whether you visit for a day trip or for an overnight stay, you can enjoy this wonderful hot spring at Araki Onsen. Why not stop by and check it out? Located in the virgin forest of Okuchichibu and the hotel is made by all Japanese cypress. The outdoor hot spring where the Japanese cypress and the Chichibu stone bathes were used is popular among the people. The foods are served by the local materials of Chichibu and satisfied both young and old.
